If you look up "patronizing" in the dictionary, you'd find a photo of this host.

This host is an insult to education. They finally agree to an interview and this is who they get, I wouldn't blame them if they never gave another one.

This narrator is not respectful of the people and their way of life.

The host demonstrates most amply that the Outside world breeds immaturity and foolishness.. thus in a "back-handed manner proves that it is better to live "off-grid" and away from the Outside as much as possible.

The host/presenter just comes across as disrespectful and rude. Getting in their personal space, asking dumb questions and the chap who was asked to sing a hymn was obviously uncomfortable being asked to do so.

This guy's so dang cringey that it took me less than 3 minutes in to check what the comments had to say about him.. I see I was not wrong

Got a little over 4 minutes into video, but had to turn it off. The host, his attempts at humor, are too irritating.

I was raised Mennonite, grew up in St. Jacobs, and know some of the people in this documentary. In fact, my first home was on one of the farms in this program. Unfortunately, Tevya seems afraid/unable to engage with the Mennonite community as equals in this program. I'm not sure what's happened in his life to make him feel that this style of inquiry is informative or respectful. I hope, Tevya, that if ever someone chooses to investigate your history, belief system, and lifestyle they will take you seriously. You deserve that. So do we.

This guy is disrespectful and overall an awful interviewer.

This is the second program of this series that I *try* to watch. It will be the last. I'm an atheist but I find religion very interesting and am curious to learn more. Playing the disrespectful, bumbling idiot is really annoying and does no one any good.

This presenter didn't have to mess up the singing by giving his own terrible tune, didn't have to criticise the smell of the auction house...

I made it to 3:56 and had to turn it off. I was extremely interested in seeing a good documentary on the Mennonite community but this host is unbearable.

Right, so the presenter visits a Mennonite community wearing cammo pattern pants and a brown t-shirt, both with overt military styling overtones. Hmmm. Not exactly respectful and open-minded, never mind the sarcasm that also comes through with his comments.

Be respectful when someone is allowing you in their community to help YOU understand their religion. The interviewer isn’t funny he’s just disrespectful. No matter the religion always respect it.

I agree with many of the comments here. I'm grateful to the Mennonite Community in St. Jacobs for opening up to do this documentary (I'm an atheist), but I wish the host stopped all those disrespectful and mocking comments. I cringed so much and couldn't watch the whole thing in one sitting. Especially in Canada, where we embrace diversity, this is unacceptable. Kudos to all those who were interviewed and responded to his questions nicely and seriously, making this documentary more informative.

As a Mennonite I found this very offensive how the narrator acted

The interviewer is just trying too hard… it came across as an arrogant and ignorant person. However it’s hilarious when the quilt lady smacked his hat to kill the flies.

It’s a little amusing that so many people stopped watching because of the host. If they would have watched the end they would have seen the host gets smacked a couple times by a quilter. Lol. Was there really a fly? 🤭

The host was horrible, was there nobody else available that day?

There are so many different denominations of Mennonites that all have some differences. I met a liberal Mennonite couple that drove to my state to pick up a puppy. The husband wore normal men's clothing while his wife wore an old fashioned dress and bonnet. I asked if they lived without electricity, like the Amish, and they told me they were allowed to have electricity. I think the ones in America may be more liberal. I also wish this video had concentrated on their religious beliefs, that's what interests me most.

This was beautiful. They live happily and real. And in a lovely place. They eat the best food I’m sure too.

I tried to watch out of genuine interest. I stopped watching as I was so offended at the utter lack of respect displayed towards the Mennonites.

The use of the Lord’s name in vain written across the screen between segments was just unbelievably disrespectful. He was bringing dishonor to the name of the God these people consider (and who is) holy God Almighty. What a way to show appreciation to a group of sweet people who were willing to allow into their lives for the purpose of your documentary.

I believe that these fine people are perhaps the some of the heartiest and toughest people. Their life style appears very resilient and would likely survive great hardship.

The interviewer forgot he is within the heavenly people not hellish world he was from.

Indigenous individuals had a mix of Catholic and Anglican influences alongside their native cultures, resulting in a lifestyle that closely resembled that of Mennonites. Sometimes, I find myself wishing for someone who embraces the "oneness doctrine" and lives that lifestyle, although such an individual has not emerged yet. While I don't personally align with Mennonite doctrines, I wholeheartedly appreciate their fresh and beautiful lifestyle, which resonates with my own beliefs. Their emphasis on living off the land, sharing resources, minimizing waste, and embracing a diligent work ethic are aspects of their lifestyle that I deeply admire. Combining the Mennonite lifestyle with the doctrines of Oneness apostolic beliefs, while also adopting an off-grid approach to the world, would indeed create a truly ideal scenario, often referred to as "The Apostleship." This concept involves embracing only the Mennonite lifestyle and adhering solely to the Oneness Apostolic doctrines. Sincerely, - First Nation Name Believer

I made it 3 min and 18 seconds into this before I couldn't take the interviewer anymore. He's a living example of the adage _"the phony is the last one to realize that everyone knows he's a phony."_ The guy is disrespectful, sanctimonious, and frivolous.

The host was so horrible he went into the middle of Albany and everyone chose to be Mennonite

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. What does this mean? Well, it means you should try to depict things you can't see. God, heaven, hell or... idk. Some sort of big sea monster. It doesn't mean that taking a picture of an item, or a person is wrong, or even something like a fish. You shouldn't falsely depict something, and you can't honestly depict something you haven't seen. Even something like all the images of Jesus aren't completely honest. I think not letting someone take a picture of you is silly. There are many good reasons to avoid being photographed, but Exodus 20:4 isn't one in my opinion.

Most Mennonites in the United States drive cars but still dress like very conservatively. It is the Amish who drive horse and buggy’s there in the states.

If you insult a Jew you are called names if you insult a mulsim you are also called names if you insult a Christian well its fair game. Its amazing how utterly disrespectful this person was and trying to pretend he is doing a documentary. Call it a comedy show instead no one will watch it.
