101% this is a series i'd love to watch. As someone who just recently played alot of Frontier, its honestly a blast and incredibly interesting. Also crab. Crabs. Crba? crustacean. Edit; Also Frontier's Low and High rank are INCREDIBLY compressed, so the progression is very quick. One monster in the same rank might be CONSIDERABLY stronger than another in the same rank.
Yeah... I recently started on Frontier because I randomly remembered about this game, but didn't know it was available (kinda lol). Like you said, the gap of doing one monster easily, but the next one just flicking you with the tip of their wing and dying is just so big lmao I love it
“But at the peak of ecosystems sit the elder dragons, forces of nature without equals, and Bamboo forest is not different. The true ruler of this land is the Chunga Faratu, a large mountain sized elder dragon with the capability to use the death blight effect from Elden ring, killing all hunters who come near it instantaneously.”
Pretty exciting to see you experience "new" Monsters. I'd like to have this as a series just to get to see the exclusive monsters, because I don't have the time or patience to play another MMO from the 2000s. ShitCrab/10
Just a heads up, hr5 and especially hr6 are massive jumps in difficulty. If you are gonna keep playing solo then hr6 will be actual torture Edit: Thanks for all the likes, I also want to mention that to beat hr5/6 mastering iframing is essential. You basically need Evasion +2 and to give up on positional dodging because it can only bring you so far in Frontier. It’s incredibly painful to go through but it was incredibly satisfying at the end and I’ve gotten much much better at both Frontier and mainline monster hunter so it was probably worth it.
This is for whatever reason super comfy. The quiet music, your soft-spoken dialogue amongst other things. I would really like to see this become a series. I don't know if I'd prefer longer videos, or short ones. I guess that part's up to you.
I would love to have this as a series, you'll be the first big MH youtuber to cover the game extensively, might even brings more awarness to the game !
Frontier is absolutely fire, the first 4 ranks are quite simple and you don't really need to think too much about the fights but from HR5 the game starts to become really, really fun with fights that demand from you good reflexes and a fair amount of skill if you want to solo them, this game is a treat and I would love to see this series continued
Big piece of advice for HR5 content and beyond this is the first Monster Hunter title where mixed sets are actually mandatory. Full sets are not gonna cut it this time around as they balanced the late game around having a lot of skills. The Hunter Navi does offer some G Rank sets that are pretty strong, but it's advisable to use them to farm and craft actual mixed sets.
i would ADORE to see this as a series. its really hard to see what frontier is all about without just watching extremely low quality, confusing hunts. fascinating video!
@@omegazer0800 an exception. There are like 99 other frontier specific monsters we'll never see again. And let's not even start with the monster Hunter online exclusive creatures.
A giant crab monster is always welcome in my eyes. Also, it's interesting that there are around 100 unique monsters in this game that the mainline series never saw.
I loved this video, I always wanted to play mhfz, seeing it from the perspective of a newcomer, being overwhelmed with so much content at the same time, looking for the best way to start progressing, was very interesting for me. I really liked how you edited everything, I hope to see more of this series.
Fun fact : on higher ranks taikun has a secret 3rd phase. But you have to be very careful. Break all it's armor and not kill him Also I suggest you farm alot of random material (all types of meat as example) Some monsters have certain gimmicks where these can help you in your journey
@@alderwield9636 i dont get hows that monster works I thought its similar to nibelsnarf where you put meat on the floor and he eat them and then got paralyzed, sleep or posioned, but nope, all he did was stop his charge attack and then start dancing. I even tried to match his saliva colors to the meat colors, nothing seems happened.
I would love to see this become a series on this channel. Also, if you haven't watched it, go give SuperRad some love. He made a 2+ hours long video on the ENTIRE Frontier series of expansions. It's definitely worth a watch if you have two and a half hours to spare. 👍
Having played through Frontier myself, reaching G-rank and doing some of that late game content, I fully welcome this. I'm always interested in seeing more people experience Frontier for the first time. I think more awareness to it will really only lead to good things in the future.
If Capcom does bring back Taikun Zamuza in a future game, I'm curious if they'd give it a new name for other languages or keep it the same. Either way, it'd be interesting to see more frontier monsters make their appearance in the mainline games, like with Espinas.
Okay Many things to say The Compressed Progression of frontier has been removed in many servers, and from what I’ve seen from the Keys for you…you are on the Hardest one So for instance Hr5 used to have 6 keys and now 23💀 Fans did this so people would not rush to GRank ASAP (it’s very VERY POORLY BALANCED AND WAYYYY TOO AHARD FOR NEW COMERS) Frontier is a MMO so most hunts are meant for 4 people and that’s why Rastas exist so people solo can have a easier time That “Dragon” is your Halk, small monsters that help you much like a Palico which you can unlock new skills and abilities for red shinys after u slay Monster, You can do stuff with them and have them train by going to your “my Series” (at the entrance your room) and Going to “My support” You can eat in your room, However using Bento is both faster time wise and Effects everyone in your Quest (talk to the Grocery Store lady to buy them) Taikun is actually a higher tier monster that they put in a lower rank so you could have a cool experience that may Hook you in (he is very Nerfed here) The dust in his fight is actually the spores covering his muddy Shell being knocked off and exploding blocking your vision I could go on ALOT longer here but I’m not going to try to overwhelm you and try to experience things first If you want I can add you on discord to help with small bits of stuff and advice but that’s only if you want I’m loving this so far, here’s hoping for more❤️
@@Oceaniz so to explain what I’m talking about Frontier’s old progression used to be a lot bigger and Longer but they eventually decided to make it shorter But many servers changed the Key Quests so that you could not get to GRank super fast just by Using a Login bonus H.Pot effects and get to GRank in a couple Sittings So in other words they added a fuck ton of Keys so that you would experience LR and HR However… it’s not balanced in like the OG the game has Difficulty Waves (like a tidal pool)getting a spike in difficulty in every rank and getting harder and bigger in spikes I’ve been stuck in HR5 for 2 weeks on my newest account 💀 Once you get to GRank You are free and get to do Whatever you want luckly (aside GR Requirement locked things like Exotics and Zeniths)
Server cant decide what progression you use, its client side. Even you can use the vanilla frontier z with only 2 key quest in hr6 and 4 key quest hr1-hr5.
It's a very good idea on their part to put a unique fight early on. Hearing the explanation of the fight in the video made me want to hunt one immediately just for how cool it sounds.
At this point you’re damn near the only way I can get to sleep. Your videos are perfect and I love them, your voice is so calming it fights back my insomnia
This would be a cool series! I don't know much about Frontier, so it's nice to see it from the perspective of someone else who's inexperienced with it.
If you go to the door to go into your room in the upper left you can use the D pad to navigate that menu and can head to "My Support" this is where you can feed you Halk (The little dragon partner) different monster materials give your Halk an Element, Status or both and once theat elements stat reaches 100 it'll change how your Halk looks. You can have 1 status and 1 element at a time and can check on how high it is by talking to the guy in the center area. You can also equip skills to you Halk which they will naturally learn in battle, there will be a really special looking shiny on the ground. You can get useful skills like Healer (Your Halk will occasionally dust you with healing powder) or something like Mapper (You will have the whole map revealed at all times like you have a map in your inventory).
Start of Frontier: "haha fight this funny crab :)" End of Frontier: "Will you stand against the gods? Are you willing to discard your humanity for powers and challenges, both unimaginable, yet in your grasp? Also there's that funny crab again :)"
I recommend using the little wyvern buddy, they aren’t super impactful but can be jusr fun to raise with how they look different based on element and stuff
definitely give great sword earth-style (the only style you have access to in right now) a try in Low rank, especially with its cool super armor mechanic (cheesed my way through half of low rank with it).
I'd like to see more man, there's a lot of little things I'm not aware of like you can cut the raptor in half, and experiencing the new monsters as you go would be nice, since 100 is a lot
Frontier is something I've always kinda known about but never put forward the effort to play/see. Cool that folks are showing it off and delving into it, because the more I see the more I'm impressed. I'd have played *the hell* out of that game, good lord. It landed right at the time when I was playing MMO's anyway, and I know for sure I'd have dropped all of them for MHF.
If frontier z got a remake/ re-release on console for the west I would be so happy. I’ve been eyeing this game for a long time ever since i started playing mh4u. I’m not expecting anything at all but if it ever did happen that would be a dream come true
Gaijin Hunter also did a short review sort of thing for this game, somewhat like this vid a long time ago. I... do not remember what he said other than basically "it's more MH, so I recommend it and you'll like it."
As a console player I will never get to experience this game so I look forward to watching your journey through this amazing game. I'm a little jelly to be honest but I'm excited to see it all the same. Cheers!
There is something called Hunter Navi, it's like a list of achievement with instructions that you can do and get rewards, so if you don't know how to do something or don't know what to do next, just look in the hunter navi. Also why does the dirt crab give you thunder weapon? Maybe you will find out if you fight the dirt crab in hr3 *wink* *wink*
