She's angry because you are uncovering her lies. My mother is the same way. Do not let her bring you down with negativity. Their first response is always anger and surprise that you are questioning or challenging them. Know that what you are doing is right and just. Keep strong!

@@rubblejane7413 You really need to take a real paternity test. Those Ancestry tests aren't completely accurate. I remember seeing a Buzzfeed video where a bunch of staff took DNA tests, and one of the staff's mothers had a completely different result than her daughter. Like it said her mother was European even though she was Indian. So you can't trust those tests alone.

A relative found out when he was 40 years old that the man he thought that was his father wasn't actually his biological father. His mother had gotten pregnant by accident by a man who had a wife. This was at the time when you had to prove your fatherhood in court if it was a pregnancy out of marriage (for some reason), and they did that etc. When the boy was just a baby, his mother met the man she married. Now everybody else around knew about this, and no one really ever talked about it, because why would you? There was really nothing to talk about. No one had even thought that he didn't know it wasn't his biological father because everybody assumed they most have told him about it at some point. But nope. I don't know how he found out about it, but yeah, he was 40. Most have been a bit of a shock.

@@LiterallyGod I know it depends on the family, but even if my own family pushed their own past regrets onto me and lied about my real parents, I do NOT wish punishment onto them at all,just a realization of their ignorance is fair enough for me. They still tried to raise and care for me and I KNOW they had their reasons for hiding it, they just failed to choose the right method of coping with the problem. And they all were raised from bad parenting and poverty, making them more ignorant, only me and my family would know why they are the way that they are, and no matter what they did, I still forgive them. But this is my opinion as someone who's already gone through a similar issue, I just feel horrible condoning suffering onto someone unless they are actual psychopaths.

Worst Username In the World i am not talking about the child being the victim. Im talking about the mother falsely accusing a man of fatherhood and making him take care of a child that secretly isn’t his. The woman should be forced to pay the man reparations and be put in jail. The child should be put in foster care. Its sad for the child but its not fair to the man. Men get treated like dispensable objects to work and toil for money. The way men are treated is not fait at all and needs to be reformed.

She describes her mom as a sociopath so I wouldn't say it was compassionate at all! Plus, she was a single mom with two daughters and probably worked really hard and then she also has health issues, so... I feel quite more compassion for her than for her crying daughter.
@LovelyLawla
@LovelyLawla 4 года назад
@@MirelaRR You do realise that mental health issues can make a person impossible to live/have a relationship with. Without going into too much detail, I have an almost non-existent relationship with my mother for similar reasons - I can count on one hand the nice/positive things she has said to me in the last 5+years, but I would need more space than the entire internet to sort all of the negative comments she has made about me and my family. All of what she describes in this video sounds like her mother is a narcissist - being self-centred and being unable to see anything from the other persons view. Having a relationship with a narcissist is only possible if you are prepared to sacrifice your own mental health - I know from experience, I am currently trying to fight back after my own mental health was broken partly because of the actions of my mother! It sickens me when people try to tell me that I "need" to have a better relationship with her "because she is my mum" - if it was a friend or a boyfriend treating me this way, everyone would be telling me to get as far as way as possible from someone so toxic and who makes my life so miserable, but somehow because she birthed me, I should sacrifice my wellbeing?
@madeleinedb594
@madeleinedb594 4 года назад
M. R. R. Mental health issues don’t excuse toxic or abusive behaviour, sad as it is. You have simply inferred that her mum is a sociopath, which is the point really. Like the OP it struck me how she could’ve said, probably justifiably, that her mum is a selfish bitch, but she doesn’t, she frames it with compassion and sensitively. She also acknowledges her mums challenges as a single mother in her videos. It seems her mother isn’t the only person who struggles to empathise...

As someone who has a family that "lies" that I lack both parents (mom was kinda forced into teenage pregnancy long story short), it never really affected me despite still being quite young since I found out everything myself and I still keep it a secret otherwise my family might get mad (even my relatives and teachers hid it from me according to my cousin). And while the situation nor did my father's choices affect in any way, I hate how having a family that lies to you really messes with your sense of trust, especially since that's not the only thing they hide from me. I'm saying this from experience, lying to your kids makes them more likely to get trust issues.

Your story is almost exactly the same as mine.... And I know this comment will probably get lost in the thousands of comments but I am also going through this almost identical situation right this very moment and my mind is running all over the place and I googled “my dad is not my actual dad” and your video came up.... My whole life I was told that both of my parents were adopted, so I knew no one genetically beyond my parents. I was also told my father had cheated on my mother and that’s why they weren’t together anymore. My mom was also a single mother and raised me on her own. I didn’t have a father listed on my birth certificate because I always thought my mom didn’t want my father to have parental rights because he cheated on her. Basically my father too was absent for most of my life, in and out. We never really were close, he never treated me badly just was very MIA. Fast forward to 2011, a man reached out to me on social media and claimed to be my biological father. He said he and my mom were living together around the time that I was born and he thought he may be my father. Of course I asked my mother what this guy was talking about and she simply said that he was crazy and her “stalker”. So I figured he was trying to use me to get to her so I blocked him on social media. Fast forward again to 2 years ago, I as gifted a 23 and me DNA kit and a few months ago connected with a woman who was biologically my mothers cousin. Because my mom was adopted I thought it would be interesting to buy my mom a kit and verify that this was in fact my moms cousin. So we did just that and after my mom got her results... I jokingly said to her today “I should get my dad a kit for Father’s Day now” and she said nonchalantly back “oh so you can find out he’s not actually your father” and I was like ummm what? And she said “we talked about this”. I rush to 23 and me and notice that it now breaks down the results by mother and father side of the family, and on my fathers side some of the last names match the man that reached out to me on social media back in 2011. Basically my heart is shattered and I feel devastated that my mother lied to me my whole life. I have so many questions as to why she would keep me around if the guy that impregnated her was actually crazy, why she would lie and say that another man was actually my father. It just makes me wonder, does my dad actually know he’s not actually my dad, is he lying too and that why he was so distant my whole life? I have so many questions that I don’t even know how to bring up to my mother. I know it shouldn’t change anything, my dad and I weren’t even close... but it does because I am super close with my mom and she was the one person I could trust to tell me the truth and she kept this huge secret from me for my whole life. I’m almost 30 years old finding out who my dad really is... This all happened today and like I said this comment will probably get lost and no one will read it but I just needed to tell my story somewhere. Thanks to anyone that actually took the time to read this, I just needed to vent, also thank you for sharing your story. You are a beautiful woman and I’m glad I’m not the only person going through something like this, it’s helping me not feel so alone. Thank you.

My stepdad, who was much like my dad when I was very young (7 years old) told me when I was 12 that he had another daughter. It felt like a punch to the gut, like 5 years were a total lie. Maybe try interviewing people who your mom was friends with around the period of time you were born. She must have told something to her mom, her best friend, her cousins etc. Somebody around her must known something! Or do some sniffing around her stuff, diaries, letters and photos. If none of that works, grow a thick backbone and confront her, like she's your equal, like an adult. Or hire a detective.

I found your video today ❤️. I did the same thing back in 2019 and still struggle with this. My uncle and cousins on my dad's side were showing me their results. I found it so interesting and wanted to see mine too mainly because I knew nothing about my mum's maternal side. I made sure to do the same test so I would link in as a DNA match to my dad's side. The result came in and much like you, I had believed I was something, but then turned out to be something completely unexpected. I was expecting 50% Scottish and Irish from my dad and 50% England from my mum. I noticed I didn't match to my uncle or cousins and immediately thought there must have been a mistake. I even called their helpline! I was shocked that I was basically 50% British and Irish which was actually from my mum, and then surprisingly 50% Portuguese. I had no idea about this. I knew nothing about the culture the language. I had visited the country a couple of times but that was it. Like you I asked my mum about it but I caused upset and felt guilty and feel that I can't ask any more. I still don't know who my family are on that side. My mum gave me a name but I'm on all the DNA sites and can't seem to work it out at all. Most of that side are fairly distant matches. Wishing you all the luck in your search for knowledge and in finding yourself. The thing I struggle with most is completely missing out on the culture, it's like half of me is missing but I already had 2 halves.

Oh sweetie, I feel for you. I know you posted this 3 years ago, yet I am watching it and feeling for you as if it just happened. My mom was very concerned with herself as you described your mom. It's very difficult to have a self involved, always right mother. Moms like that have deep control issues and as you seem like an empathetic, thoughtful person, this kind of person has to be willing to come out of their self obsession to actually feel and empathize for another. There probably won't be anything you can specifically do to help her...except say a prayer for her. I know it's heartbreaking...because it's your Mom. Please know that your identity is, yes part from your mom and part from your dad, but there is something uniquely and spiritually 'YOU' that is beyond that. I hope that you continued to look for your father. I wish you well on your journey.

I totally relate to you. This horrifying thing happened to me. Took an ancestry test in 2016 just for ethnic break down, my dad is Puerto Rican (mom is Native American). I was always curious about ethnic break down as Puerto Rican’s are very mixed with Spanish, Mid East, Jewish, African and Taino (native of Puerto Rico). After taking the test it became clear that my dad isn’t my bio dad. I had no cousin matches with Spanish names and the dna was strange... I had a huge percentage of Italian, small amounts of Greek, Middle East and Ashkenazi Jewish. My mom passed away when I was 8, she was pregnant with me when she was just 14. I’m 33 now but did this when I was 31. My daddy has always been in my life and I had no reason to think he wasn’t my dad. So I was horrified and even went in denial for about a year and told no one, just my husband who didn’t believe me. For a whole year I was in agony about my daddy not being my dad but I was curious who my bio dad was so I reached out to some cousin matches did some research and found my bio dad... an Italian man who I look identical to. He said he and my mom only hooked up once or twice. He didn’t remember her at first. It took a couple days then he told his daughters that he did remember my mom... I reached out to him thru his daughters as I couldn’t find a way to contact him. We have met a few times and it’s all still hear breaking. Idk what to do. My dad, the one I have always been raised with has no idea. I’m not going to tell him ever! I had to tell my maternal grandmother about this when I was first looking for bio dad as I wondered if she knew and if she could give me a name. She didn’t know either. I’m still dealing with so much hurt about it all. It’s a mix of emotions. Im a Puerto Rican and was raised that way but now I learn I’m Italian and know nothing about where I come from but don’t wanna be Italian and want no other dad but my daddy but met bio dad and he’s lovely and his daughters I like them and look like them and we are a lot alike but then when I’m with them it reminds me that my dad isn’t my dad and it hurts!!! I hope you find your bio dad if that’s what you want!!! I know the pain your going through and the wild curiosity also. Good luck.

1969Vanessa G If you’re commenting on my story then perhaps you should reread it and comprehend it because your comment is off base. I’m not bashing my mom. You must have not done well in comprehension as I see you don’t understand my story at all. He didn’t remember because it was 33 years ago and they only hooked up a couple times, BEHIND my dad’s back. But I had his daughters show him her picture then he remembered. He wasn’t some grown man who didn’t even remember my “poor” mom. He too was a teenager and quite frankly my father was the victim as his first born isn’t even his first born and he has no clue. Now here I am 33 years later discovering this truth and it’s heartbreaking. And my mother wasn’t here to help me process this or lead me in the right direction. I’m sure she would have been surprised too and she probably wouldn’t have remembered the guy either she was still with my dad (guy who raised me) when she died 9 years later. I really don’t have to explain myself to you but your old ass needs to be checked. How dare you read my story, then make such an off base comment that had NOTHING to do with the context of my post. Comprehension is very important.

You have a whole new world to seek. You have relatives you can visit, if that's what you desire. Maybe becoming excited about you newly discovered heritage may help you through this pain. Help you heal. Would you consider visiting what is now a part of your undiscovered history? I certainly would. But that's me. Take care of yourself, beautiful. I'll be watching! Keep vlogging.

As a mother....I cannot IMAGINE getting angry at my child...I would be more upset at myself for not telling them. If he was a bad man or not, she was wrong for keeping it from you and making it about her. I'm sorry, I know she's your mother, but...she's wrong. We don't know her past, but even so, don't do that. Do not make your child feel bad for a mistake YOU as a mother made. I am appalled..and I am SO sorry. 💚💚💚 it is a little exciting to kinda have a new life you ever knew about though, I would imagine. I haven't watched the update videos but I'm about to. Much love

Thank you! You validated my feelings with this comment as I’m dealing with my mother that refuses to think outside her own feelings and projects her own selfish decisions unto me. The truma is extremely painful 😖 I almost ended it all and the same mother at the time told me to go ahead with it when I found out and confronted her. I pray she repents 🙏🏾

I know this is a year old. I found you because I took a 23 and me test, and I’m waiting on the results. I’m sorry :( I can relate to the difficult mother thing. I was never close with my father. I haven’t even seen him in 13 years, and he’s never met my 8 year old son. But he and his whole side of the family were never interested in my sisters and I. So I sort of joked with my mom that maybe he’s not my real father, and instead of just joking around and talking to me, she freaked out, got super offended, made the whole thing about her. Thought I was speaking negatively about her. She passed away shortly after that conversation, but yeah. I think it makes sense that you’d want to know about the other half of your dna. As others have said, it can even impact your health, since certain health risks run in certain families. Also, whether any father was close to you, it’s a piece of a puzzle to who you are, and it makes sense that you’d want to know about it. And now you have this whole other ethnicity/culture to explore, that you had no idea you were part of!

@@MrAmhara You're right, it's in North Africa. Culturally, it is similar to to both North Africa and the middle east since it geographically links the two regions. I decided to put "Middle Eastern" on the thumbnail because Ancestry.com listed that as the largest part of my ethnicity. I now understand that the ethnicity breakdown is not totally accurate and 23andme had a more spot on estimation of my heritage.

@EyeLean5280 5 лет назад
@@GALAXIE262 paternaty tests back then were very vague. They used blood type and couldn't prove paternity but only rule it out. So if their two blood types were incompatible, the test would prove he wasn't the dad but if they were compatible (and more than half the possible blood combinations were compatible) it would only show the man * might * be the father. So it was quite possible for a child who was not the biological offspring to show up in the test as "might be" related to the father.
