I’ve had the pleasure of visiting Paris twice, 1st when a child almost 60 years ago, and about 8 years ago with my wife. There is something magical about Paris. I hope to see it again. Your videos are some of the best showcasing Paris. I will continue to watch, remember and dream about going back again. Thank you.

Currently in Paris right now. Had a ticket reserved for Eiffel Tower and followed this route. Thank you so much Alain for taking the time to document this. The map of these locations make it so much easier to follow. You just click on it and location and Google Maps will take care of the rest. Had the burger for lunch and Macaron for desert. Merci beaucoup

A wonderful tour through the Hotel des Invalides, Musee Rodin and the Gros-Caillou. This is my favorite neighborhood in Paris.

Yes, it's a nice, high-end neighborhood. Tourists tend to just pass there while they prefer staying in Saint-Germain or the Marais.

07:53 : I have known of recent that the model for The Thinker statue who inspired Auguste Rodin was nobody else than Dante Alighieri (1266-1321), the Italian writer of The Divine Comedy.

Alain, I love how you quickly cut away the pile of garbage scene in 15:22 😂 lol

It's not really garbage, but, in white bags like this, the waste from a construction site that takes place in the building.

Hello and thank you for your nice Paris videos, I enjoy them. I see you like hamburgers, I thought I would mention that the most delicious burger my family and I have eaten in Paris was at 19 Blvd Montparnasse in the 14th -- The Smoking Dog (not to be confused with the Smoking Dog in the 1st).

"Napoleon's son is also buried in the crypt..." Napoleon II's fate is - how shall I put it? - an interesting historical curiosity. When Josephine failed to produce an heir for Napoleon, Napoleon divorced her and married Marie-Louise (Maria-Luisa Leopoldina Franziska Theresia Josepha Luzia von Habsburg-Lothringen, no less) at Saint-Cloud in 1810, apparently at the suggestion of Count von Metternich, the Austrian (Habsburg) foreign minister. She became quite a popular duchess of Parma in 1814, just as Napoleon I abdicated. That same year, their son Napoleon II (as he would be known) was brought to Vienna and never allowed to leave. In 1832 he died from tuberculosis at the age of 21.

I think it would be useful if you pronounce all the monuments and places in their original, french language. People visit les invalides and they dont know how to pronounce it :) great work on the channel!
@paristoptips
@paristoptips 11 месяцев назад
Thanks. Well, for the Invalides, you have the French pronunciation at 1:26. 🙂 Apart for the Eiffel Tower, I always try to pronounce the French way.

Nice walk. I had a little trouble following on my map. Perhaps you should post yours. Also is it possible to cross the Debilly bridge and walk toward the Trocadero instead of going back to Quai Jacques Chirac?

Any chance of a video, but for the other side of the effiel tower neighborhood @ the 15th arrondissement - Grenelle? Is there much to do in that area?😅
@paristoptips
@paristoptips 10 месяцев назад
Honestly, this part of Paris is mainly residential. There are a few interesting restaurants, 2 parks worth seeing (Georges Brassens and André Citroën where you can fly on a balloon) and 2 nice pedestrian cobbled streets that you have in my 12 Serene & Secret streets video, and that's it. So, no there aren't many chances for me to make a video on this part of Paris. Sorry
