Trivia: Love is actually genius because he talks about how he used to be just a person, but someone eroded his edges and turned it into love. Person in Korean is 사람 (salam/saram) and Love is 사랑 (salang/sarang). So the edges of ㅁ were quite literally eroded to make ㅇ. My favourite lyric tho is “jklmnpqrst, I passed all these letters to get to u” 😍
Another fun fact about PQRST lyric/line is that it was rapped separately from the other letters and apparently that these letters were used to label the waves of the heartbeats in ECG (pqrst wave). so namjoon rapped about love while referencing to actual cardiac activity.
Wildflower is definitely an art and philosphy in itself. Namjoon is hands down one of the best artists of this generation. Incredibly wise and self-aware.
I cried while watching your reaction to RM. I am just heartbroken because not all ARMY appreciate RM's music like the other members. His MVs has the lowest streams on RU-vid compared to other members. It so frustrating that they did not see him as a songwriter, a singer, a rapper, and a producer considering that most of BTS songs are credited to him.
If they don't support RM , simply they are not Army , so don't refer to them like that, apart from yt, (we've had problems in all the mvs), in general we've achieved impressive records, which only he has, so let's leave that narrative.
As we all know, people stream. Numbers are great but he seeks and attracts a different kind of audience, to put it diplomatically. It will always be this way. He’ll receive different kinds of flowers, but he’ll receive them in spades.
@@akplanje yes, all the members in their solo project They attract different audiences, apart from Army, we all support records, but one still has his preferences in terms of music,
I like to think because RM is very cerebral it takes a certain formula to embrace his works, Namjoon stans do their research and are as cerebral as our leader. not saying rest of Armys are not smart because they are, but I'm saying Namjoon's music is gourmet cuisine and people like more familiar food, easier to digest.
RM's lyricism is really crazy. He is a poet, a thinker. What I like the most about Joon is that he stimulates me in a intelectual way. You can't go out of a RM's MV without do a minium search. I honestly think he is one of the best songwriters of our decade
it's crazy how Joon was your favorite from the beginning because yes, it makes so much sense that he'd be your bias, you're very thoughtful. and this happens a lot, the first member that catches your eyes might be the one you resonate with the most
RM is the first member that drawn me to BTS. Despite me being a Yoongi bias now, my love and respect for RM and his artistry will always be there. His music are like books. You need to flip the pages to understand it.
To me, the fireworks(or flowerworks), is a symbol for the limelight, it’s a beautiful, powerful, terrifying monster. The fireworks display reflects the unending cacophony of camera flashes from fans and paparazzi, pyrotechnics from concerts and army bombs, it’s so overwhelming. On the other side of the flowerworks coin is the wildflower, it nature and that RMs touchstone, his balance to the idol life. As most of us know, nature, museums and biking are his favourite things, it’s where he exhales. That final shot made me smile, he’s in a field of flowers, he’s resetting. It would be interesting to see what touchstones other idols have to reset and balance their lives.
You are always so in point. I love your Videos. For the Singer He featured in wild flower: you were right, she is a Rock Singer!! She is the Singer of Cherry Filter and fits just perfectly for this song. I love that Namjoon chose her.
I feel the exact same way you do about Wildflower. I think you really got him... I think he is an artist and he loves the craft, but all the fame and expectations and "firework" is not something he loves... and he did not get much opportunity to be himself completely. I love your analysis!
Same gurl, I got to know them from RM. He have such a charming , savage and articulate presence that I cannot help it. Plus, his perspective, music, lyrics and message really resonate to me. Then I want to know the rest of the members - they are such an optimist, genuine, joyful and hardworking people that I cannot help it but rooting for their success. I am OT7 but RM holds such a special place for me.
Wildflower still brings me to tears ~ it feels like Namjoon saying, "Stop the world, I want to get off", if not just for a break, to get to know himself again as the poet he has always been. He has been working on these songs for "Indigo" for years, and now is free to release them. He is finally free to write his poetry and songs and collaboration with artists who interest him from other genres without a time limit or other restrictions. This is a freedom he did not have as one of the songwriters and producers for BTS. I do hope that he can see his way back to BTS when they finally regroup in 2025 after military service, and their solo projects. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I think whats hard for Namjoon and the rest of BTS is that they love their work and being appreciated, they love the Army. Its all the industry crap, celeb culture and lack of control over certain areas of their career and personal life that they wish to get free from. Ironically their success probably allows them more creative freedom now than they could have expected. This is why Army are also very commited to supporting not only their group work but also solo projects.
@@priiifrg thats not true at all. Theres many reasons why its harder to achieve certain goals that WE set. Solos will always feel their fav isnt being supported. Instead of spreading discord how about work extra hard to encourage more support for their projects?
Actually Persona is one of my favourites tracks, I also think is underaprecciated, especially the lyrics omg I have chills when I heard the same part. I love your reactions so much because you're always affected by the same things I am xd I think is amazing you caught all of that in just one listening, so brilliant
AND Love, that song is also on repeat this year. My bias is Suga for sure, but RM is a closed second his writing I think I can relate the most with, the way he thinks, the things he likes. I love his new album so much
Not sure if anyone mentioned it or if you already know but RM asked people to please listen to Indigo in order that the track list has a purpose in the order. Its a story of his 20s....growing, finding himself & expressing himself. You are awesome in your reaction & I. With you, its sad! He sounds like he wants a "normal" life. But I think he feels he'd let Army down....dude you gave us over 10 yrs of yourself! Do you! Maybe being away in Army next year will give him time to be away & see where he's at after. 💜 💙
Your reactions are perfection! Thoughtful, insightful, honest and in my opinion, always on point with my own thoughts and feelings. Thank you💜. I am 56 years young, ARMY for life.
RM's Joker is raw and vulgar, and I understand it's this type of music is your guilty pleasure because mine too. Lol but RM write this way on early days because he is an underground rapper as we all know and really has hiphop history on him so as you know hiphop is true, diss type of music and I'm glad he and Suga showed this side of them even after being a member of BTS. And we saw how much they've grown in their music. I'm sooo proud of this ANPANMANS
I love any single song made by RM.... he's a genius with the words! I'm OT7 but RM could be my bias easy peasy!! You will love Indigo, it's a masterpiece! an emotional trip you have to respect the sequence to appreciate it the most. Thanks for your reaction!! Love to hear you!
All of these raps by RM/Rap Monster/Nam-joon are different aspects of him at different stages of his growth. To say that Joke is not him but it was at one point. He was and still is a Rapping Monster. You can't put him in a box nor a label. The many faces of RM has yet to be explored by him. He's a gdf genius. OT7 💜 x7
I share your sentiments Gabbsi. And the Trivia:Love performance by RM, I keep coming back to re watch it's one of my favourite songs and love his performance. I am the same, drawn to BTS because of RM, he is the one that largely attributed to making BTS more than just another k-pop ground, in my view.
Thank you so much for your reactions on RM’m songs and the other videos. I really enjoyed your comments. Gave me food for thought! I am new to your channel but I can’t wait for the rest of your content!
Hobi did say to ARMYs on a VLive that “Indigo” was truly a healing Album for Namjoon as he got to listen to it first before release. This was the second song to make me cry from BTS since I have been ARMY (since 2015) (first being “Bulletproof: The Eternal”) and I hadn’t cried since Namjoon’s heartfelt speech at Festa 22 dinner
Bahahaha BTS haters must have been found dead after this dropped - no doubt! I'm not up to date on how long you've been in the fandom but I'm so grateful you listen and remember their words and make connections like this. One of the lines in Joke is that he'd never change his name, then he indeed decide to change his name 😂I love his recent appearance on PSick recently, such a real guy. Just such a deep thinker, stand up guy. And you're right - Persona is underrated af~
Aaaah, Youjeen! (or Yujin) My first Korean love! I found her through her Japanese solo album The Doll because it was produced by one of my favorite bassists, J (from Luna Sea, JP band). If you are into this punk rock, hard rock, power ballad type of music, from her album I'd say "Apple for your thoughts" and "Imitation You" are a must. After getting her album, I checked her band Cherry Filter, and they just released Made in Korea? album. Precious to me too! And my first Korean CD ever XD They also do some trance and experimental rock. They are legends in SK. She hasn't collabd with anyone ever. She explained recently (she appeared in the live performance of this song) that she didn't feel like it, towards senior it'd be too much, towards juniors, she never cared about their music, except for RM, mr Kim Namjoon. They are great, by the way :)
Hahaha yeah the sass of Namjoon, at the question with the Justin Bieber collab, they did a lot of interviews that day (same clothes in the videos), and Namjoon was sooooo done in most of them 🤣
For RM Pt. 2 when you get to it, you could watch his “Indigo Album Magazine Film”- after you’ve already listened to the album of course. This is a great official documentary exploring the songs and collaborations in detail.
Actually wildflower was a 5 yr project of RM..he started composing this song 5 yrs ago and so i believed this is a combination of the different stages of emotions RM had for the last 5 yrs.
I found BTS through INDIGO I bought this on cd also. Then I fell deeply in love with album. Deep deeply in love with the genius of this album and the extraordinary collaborations everybody from ERYKAH BADU R&B Soul, YOUGENE pop, COLDE, Anderson Paak, TABLO, PAUL BLANCO etc....INDIGO is the diary of RMs 20s and its a creative masterpiece. A future cult classic. Every track is different and I love every one. From the drunken disaffection of CHANGE to the catchy STILL LIFE and the one I keep singing LONELY.
I don't know if you will read this, but I just had to tell you that you are the most intelligent reactor I have come across. I have cut back on my subscriptions because frankly, since the "hiatus," I just struggle with some of the commentary. I stopped commenting because many people just do not seem to understand my perspective as one who admires their work as artists but can't get into the idea of focusing on clicks and numbers. Namjoon even said what he hoped people would get from his work, and it wasn't numbers. It's as if people didn't really listen to "Yet to Come." Rather than try to explain and receive all kinds of comments, I just felt compelled to tell you how much I appreciate your intelligence. Your thoughtful approach to them as artists is refreshing. 🎉
I love Indigo so much! I just find it so relaxing. Please watch Suga next....First Love, Nevermind, Shadow and Seesaw are some of my favourites from him. I love his lyrics so much. My ult bias is Jimin but Yoongi bias-wrecks me left right and centre.
just like you, I : - used to be RM-biased after watching Idol, Mic Drop and Spring Day MVs (not really into visuals but of course couldn't help it) - gradually turned into an OT7 after doing my research - especially love his singing voice which is raspy but moves you a certain way *** highly recommend these from earlier : - Path (with the members) live performance - I Know & Fools (with JK), 4am (with V), All Night (with Suga & Juice Wrld), Respect (with Suga) - I Believe, Adrift, Voice, Moonchild, Forever Rain, Seoul (solos) - love reflecting on his lyrics and often give my own interpretation of their songs - got emotional watching Wildflower ... her name is Jo Yu-jin aka youjeen, the lead vocalist of the SK alternative rock band Cherry Filter ~ * I read a previous comment saying that it takes a cerebral person to appreciate another highly cerebral individual. He got nasty comments about how he didn't look like an idol. I listen to Cypher Pt 4 when I'm angry and end up laughing at the haters. RM stans are a gem cause most people just like something easy to digest and just party along with. Decoding ain't everyone's thing so yeah. Our leader is finally getting the recognition he deserves -- I see a lot of experts, rap & hip hop enthusiasts (mostly guys), old and new reactors alike joining the club recently ! THANK YOU from a new subscriber 😄😄
I really love your reactions to RM!!! He's an awesome writer and rapper!!!😍😍😍 I'm watching your reactions to all members... you are an awesome ARMY!!! 🤗
I thought trivia: love would be my ultimate rm/love song ever but then he released indigo and my mind has been blown..listening to wildflower always makes me cry. Trivia: love and the whole indigo album- topnotch lyricism/music and art, my forever favourites they shall remain. 💘💜
Unfortunately even today each and every word coming from his mouth is overly analysed and twisted just coz idek, but my guess would be He is talented and others are Very very scared,, I hope he gets whatever he wants and whatever he deserves
I believe BTS’ original plan was to take a break after the Map of the Soul world concert which got canceled because of COVID. Dynamite/Butter/PTD were not originally planned by them, and they plan FAR out. So that entire time was definitely a bit of flying by the seat of their pants and it also meant a delay in probably what was a very much needed break.
I enjoyed your reaction very much. You get it. Listen to the album in order as he is telling the story. Please listen to No. 2 which wraps everything up so nicely. I cried when I listen to it, but they were tears of triumph. This young man is a genius.
Persona and Wild Flower have a couple of lyrics in common as they're speaking about the same thing, "persona" and "being lost". Listen to Still Life, it shows more about the current RM.
Hi! Glad to see you back! ^^ And with a ton of content! Hope you are warm these days. I guess as a neighbor-country you'd have similar temperatures as we are having T_T Suggestion: watch Awakening and Do You (off camera too). Beautiful and strong lyrics! And beautiful man behind them. Take care and thanks again!
Wildflower is one of my favorite songs ever, and I can't watch that music video without crying. I do think there's a hopeful element to it as well, at least on my interpretation. It's that ultimately, no matter the heights of celebrity he experiences, the ways he gets lost or disconnected from himself, one day he will return to that nameless, beautiful thing, just as we all will. Whether that be at the end of his career or at the end of his life, there is freedom and simplicity and connection waiting for him. Maybe it's kind of morbid, but I think it's hard to avoid with lines like "no shame, I'm on my grave". And that knowledge can be a source of groundedness in the now, too, that at our core we are all part of the natural world, that being human means being dirt as much as it means being fire. So even in the moments when he's on stage, part of him is also in that field. just my two cents.
New to your channel, I love that you dissect the songs and share your thoughts. I agree with your interpretation of Wildflower but I think it does end on a positive and hopeful note, as does the whole album. Looking forward to your Indigo reaction! He also just released a recording of an intimate concert he just held for the album launch, in case you're interesting in some live versions. Wildflower live is amazing!
I don't think you'll see this comment 3 months later but I have only known one other reactor who bothers to understand the music, lyrics and artist, but most importantly The Person! You are very appreciated
Cont... Hi, i am back. Good reaction, ty. Interesting interpretation. RM wrecked us bad. I cried reading the lyrics my 1st read through. Watching with u got me teary eyed even though i have not cried listening to it in a while. Damn, RM! It hurts that he felt this way. Dang it. This brings me back to what he said at Festa Dinner. Youjeen was perfect. Don't know her but she sounded great. I look forward to learning more about her. She is a 45yo rock singer. She is part of a band. They are legends in Korea. U was spot on. Her name is not that had to say. It's like you-jean. By the way he did a live on Weverse too. Not the live i was expecting. 😅Hope u can react to that as well. U can watch it here they posted it. He also did an interview and I'll bet we will get behind the scenes so u can watch that and find out more info. This is my fav song. I've heard a few and eventually grew to love them. I need to hear the full album again. Lots of connections with older songs. We shouldn't forget what Namjoon said : INDIGO is his diary of his 20's (of those 4 years)He said this album is born from his feelings at that time. 😭 This ALBUM gives us an insight on HOW Namjoon felt during those years. Hope u watch the explanation vid by Bookish Theories too. Borahae. -NY USA 2019 Army💟 Youjeen is korean veteran artist (no kpop-idol), singer of rock band Cherry Filter. Teresa Nike said on 12/2/22 When I watched the Festa dinner I felt this break was more for RM . The whole group needs it to find themselves but I felt RM needed more and to go back to being Kim Nam-Joon then he can come back to being RM with a renewed energy . I think he saying he lost his identity people only think of him as RM , he had to only think of RM and BTS but that not the only part of him he is Kim Nam-Joon as well, he can be both people. That's what I got from it. I could be way off though. It's a beautiful and powerful song. So proud of him. CG. said on 12/3/22 On his MV 3:03 that's what you call "Nakhwanori" or Traditional Korean Firework festival. Joon wants to pay tribute to the Traditional Koreans who still does this. The 'Nakhwa nori' festival is a traditional fireworks display that is held in May to pray for the well-being and good year of the people. Joon clarified that is not CGI, he has to close his eyes most of the time because it's dangerous for the eyes. Hope you see this comment. Alix DriftwoodDragons said on 12/3/22 I thought it was brilliant the way he was able to capture the fact that "flower" and "firework" are the same/similar in Korean by inventing the English word "flowerwork" ... and just the whole theme of Fireworks (high in the sky, burning brightly but brief) vs wildflowers (on the ground, blooming repeatedly, able to survive harsh conditions) was brilliantly done. Youjeen's voice is AMAZING, she's the lead vocal on a Korean rock band called Cherry Filter - and those rock vocals are so well used here. It's such an emotional song. watch Explanation by Bookish Theories Teresa Nike said on 12/17/22 RM did say in Festa 2022 that the kpop industry doesn't give you time to mature, you have to put out certain kinds of music. Yes they had more freedom as far as creativity is concerned but they still had to put out music at an exhausting pace... Those vids were fun. I have seen parts but not sure if I saw these vids themselves. RM was a poet before becoming a rapper so I am not surprised his songs can be read as poems. I think its so cool.
I really love the way you analyze and not only react with superficial comments (which is common). Also, you try to understand the complete picture: artist and persona. I am not a fluent speaker of English, but you talk and pronounce it so clearly that is easy to understand, thanks for that.
If you like it Joke you would love cypher 1,2,3 and 4 . They are rap line songs, true, but they had something to say and deserve to be heard . I love your reactions 🤩🤩🤩
Joke is like Sugas Self titled song answered those Rappers told them were not real rappers anymore because they were idols who wore make up, they were girls. Yoojeen on Wildflower is the lead singer from the soft rock band Cherry Filter. She is 56 years old and sounds this good live in RMS ROLLING HALL CONCERT INDIGO CONCERT. Yoojeen normally never agrees to collaborations especially not with younger artists. However she said she was impressed with RM and the song.
I love this song! I think he can handle it, but he prefers to be grounded, doesn't care for all that fame. That's what I think. He's extremely good at expressing vocally and written (lyrics). Absolutely beautiful, on my playlist for sure. I think he is a true artist for sure!
