Buen Camino Tammi. Cycled the Vía de la Plata last May and June with my brother( his first time) from Sevilla, our home town. Enjoyed it even better than the French.
I did this real in the unknown Spain this trail. Going through wild areas, forgotten "pueblos" and magnificent cities (Salamanca, Caceres a s.o.), escalating mountains too. Only one thing bad in your video: the sound. 😢
Hi! Thanks for a nice ’teaser’ video 😊 How would you compare the road and albergues (opening and quality) before and after Salamanca? I started walking there some years ago and my camino was amazing ☺️ I’m planning to walk from Cadiz this time or choose Camino Portugal.
That’s a great question. I do not know because we only had 2 weeks and stopped in Salamanca. My goal is to pick it back up next year. I think I am going to tackle Le Puy this summer.
As you will see from my other videos, the Via is less populated than the Frances. However, we did not have trouble ever finding accommodations. Our biggest issue was the inconsistent distances between towns making it necessary on some days to to either have short day or long days. We followed the Camino app and always had water, food and shelter. It is a beautiful route with lovely people and not very difficult. I'd avoid walking in the hot months as there is very little shade. I only had two weeks for the hike and will return next year! Enjoy!
