Thank you! This would be a long time savings for a trip like this. Helping me make a plan. Just can’t see affording an Alaska trip. Recently had Michigan come across radar as an amazing vacation destination.
A few years back I was working at the hospital in Ontonagon. It was during the pandemic and travel nursing had become all the rage, (still is due to how much money a nurse can make doing it). Anyway, these nurses started coming through from places way South of here, (Texas, Florida), and they were simply appalled by how remote we were. They would endlessly complain that the closest Wal-Mart or McDonalds was over 60 miles away. So, one day I asked them have you been to the parks? The waterfalls? The Lake? One of them said, "What Lake". I said "Superior". They had no idea that they were sitting a half mile from the largest freshwater lake in the world. I informed them there was just about no other reason to be here.
