Ya in case of jay norton (jamie), they showed an exit and a dramatic entrance..but in case of anthony , there wasn't any exit just a revelation ..in first season only audience knew about the mole that too on the last day..he wasn't revealed to the recruits..and petra was revealed in season 4..but by far best revelation was Jay's

They definately could be considered that but unlike the US where saying "Special Forces" reffers to an specific unit (the Green Beret's ODA's) the term Special Forces in the UK is only attributed to the top tier 'cream of the crop' troops.

Technically they’re not, but they basically are.

Surely royal marines are not tier one unit like the SAS, but I had the impression that they are considered special forces by the way they trained, it's not easy but at the same time nowhere near the amount of training like SAS or SBS (SBS are considered tier one as well?)

Probably due to the health and safety procedure's what they're doing is dangerous so the production team have to ensure they doing everything required to keep everybody safe otherwise people can be seriously hurt and that can lead to lawsuits and heavy fines to pay if its found that they were negligent with health and safety standards and practises.

Yeah there’s very little that is “authentic” to the SAS experience now. Prefer the older stuff without all the playing up to the cameras with stylised close ups.

@@lachlanchester8142 obviously this is nowhere near as close to actual selection. It's a condensed version of it. I wouldn't be in the least surprised if the Ministry of Defence view this before it goes out on TV to make sure that there's no classified information being revealed. Foxy said in his book that the MOD advised him against doing this show and that he and the other DS had to make sure they appeared to not be giving the production team military secrets about selection and covert missions they'd been involved with. Judging by that I'd assume the DS reveal only a tenth of what they really went through when they were on selection and what they've been involved with.

This isn't the actuall SAS selection process

In real selection I don't think there is but for the show to give the ds a better insight they done it and makes it better programming too I think

Ex- SAS and SBS, yes. But the program is miles away from real selection.

Positive discrimination is still discrimination, it just has the word ‘positive’ in front of it to disguise it.

You realize this is a TV show of a mild taster of real life SAS training? Both special forces are great in their own right but until both sides fully explain all their training for both entry and as the norm its unfair to call Spetsnaz best as it would be for SAS, the only reason why people will like SAS more is because there's more public footage of them at work to show the world why they're one of the best.
