The guide did not indicate why Mina is called penguin, she walks (waddles) with her feet pointed slightly outwards, like a penguin, due to her years of ballet. Dahyun first did her eagle dance (and some other weird dances) when she was 12/13 years old in her church (she was the main dancer there), a couple of years before she became a trainee. Someone uploaded the video and it went viral in Korea.
Jeongyeon was on hiatus for a herniated disc in her neck which happened in 2020 and after that on two hiatuses for panic and anxiety in 2020 as well as in 2021. She appeared in the music videos of "Alcohol-Free", "Scientist" and "The Feels" in 2021, but didn't partake in the dances. Jeongyeon was not part of the Seoul concerts at the first leg of their 4th world tour in Dec. 2021 due to health reasons, but joined the rest of the group again for the US tour, starting with the performances in LA in Feb., 2022.
In the "Formula of Love Album" they have a 3 sub-unit song. Nayeon, Momo and Chaeyoung for Hello, Sana, Jihyo and Dahyun for Push and Pull, and Jeongyeon, Mina and Tzuyu for 132.
In 2020 during More & More Jeongyeon's body went numb during dance practice. After visiting the hospital, it was discovered she had a slipped disc in her neck (C3 IIRC). I believe she tried to continue without surgery but ended up having to have it. Having to sit out caused her anxiety when it came to performing since she didn't have as much practice. She tried to come back during Alcohol Free but was still in some pain. She ended up taking a second Hiatus after that. You may notice she isn't dancing in either the "The Feels", "Scientist" or "Kura Kura" MVs. She returned just before the US leg of the 4th World Tour III in January of 2022. She still had some anxiety during the beginning of tour, but fans showed so much love to her, that she eventually got over it. Mina also had an injury, I believe a knee issue and Anxiety in June of 2019 during their 3rd World Tour Twicelights. She had a hiatus until Halloween of 2019 where she appeared in the Halloween II fan concert.
I think Mina was an ankle injury, same with Dahyun but just took some rests in between their promotions unlike Mina who also went on hiatus like Jeongyeon.. Knee injury was Jihyo and had a surgery reason why she wasn't part of TWICE TV in Switzerland.. But the timeline is correct.. 👌

Their Time To Twice (TTT) series is great and their TWICE TV (1-6) are pure joy and relaxion to watch!!! They are just so genuine in everything they do!
Honestly, as a Once, it's a surprise that more members of the groups haven't had a hiatus at this point. Obviously, we had Jeongyeon & Mina have two long hiatuses due to Anxiety Disorders (Mina during Feel Special Era and Jeongyeon at random points in 2020 and 2021) but at different points, our Leader Jihyo struggled with Anxiety, so she was really brave for not having one. Sana & Tzuyu also have been bullied at different points of their career, so it's good that JYP never made them take breaks. I'm also glad that Chaeyoung hasn't been forced into a hiatus recently due to her scandal, literally any other company would make her go on hiatus/leave the group right now.
DAHYUN is so extra only during live shows and when there is a camera, but according to the members, SHE is more introverted than MINA and very quiet and secretive.
Jeongyeon got neck injury. And she got into Anxiety and panic attack twice 2020 and 2021. Mina also got into Hiatus because of Anxiety and Panic Attack way back 2019.

Jihyo got into Hiatus way back 2018 becuase of injury and backlash last 2019, Jeongyeon got into Hiatus way back 2016 because of a horse kick her on a variety show and she got into a leg injury, Sana got into hiatus because of backlash last 2019, Tzuyu got into Hiatus way back 2016 because of the backlash, Chaeyoung got into hiatus for now because of backlash too.

My bias have always changed from the start but I can confidently say it's Nayeon. Growing up I always had a low self esteem, and I found myself comparing to others a lot. When I found TWICE I was a little intimidated by Nayeon, but the more I learned about her the more she influenced me to become more confident in myself. This guide might have made her look cocky but she is the sweetest person ever and watching her made me think she's kind of the older sister I've always wanted :') She is caring and gives soooo much to ONCE. She is someone I want to be like. I've been lucky to attend 3 Twice concerts and Nayeon has always interacted so much throughout the whole show she is funny and she genuinely cares that everybody is having a good time. I was crying while hearing their encore and she pointed at me and pouted and told me not to cry and blew me a kiss I was speechless heheehe

Jeongyeon is my bias but I sympathise/empathise with Tzuyu, in terms of communication, a lot. She has the largest language barrier of the group. Similar to western fans. But the eight other members still have her back. Their Esprit De Corps is why they have such staying power. One of the main reasons to become Once for me was their camaraderie. Its a hardcore "9 or none" attitude that drives the fanbase.
@Rogue Reacts Two examples of how Ride or Die they are: During Mina's hiatus, it's said that the other 8 made it clear to the company that Twice is 9 or Twice isn't a thing. Jihyo has even recently said that when Twice is done, she probably is too.
yep until this day i can't pick a bias, i just have nayeon as utt cause she's the one that got me into twice, but really they're all great people, kind and funny as hell!! To your question: Why is it only 3 of them? The concept of sub units (often multiple ones) is common in K-Pop. For example, Solar and Moon Byul of the four-member-girlgroup MAMAMOO just released their single album "ACT 1, SCENE 1" as MAMAMOO+. Another one is BSS (a.k.a. BooSeokSoon), a special sub unit of SEVENTEEN with Hoshi, DK and Seungkwan. Their single album "SECOND WIND" was released on Feb., 6th.

They're definitely a family that love each other. When Momo got eliminated from their reality show 16, they were all crying and didn't want to debut without her. Especially her Japanese friends Mina and Sana but the best thing JYP did was bringing back Momo. Twice girls definitely love and take care of each other in such sweet and precious ways. Mina and Chaeyoung or MiChaeng is one of the famous ships in twice along side 2yeon (Nayeon and Jeongyeon) Momo said she was good at English when she was a kid but she hit her head so yeah 😱 MiSaMo (Mina, Sana and Momo) Japanese Line is the first Sub unit of twice which going to debut this June and already released their song "Bouquet". Nayeon is the first and only member to debut as a soloist. There will be a Japanese subunit MISAMO (Mina Sana Momo) coming this year, 2023. They all have one subunit song in their 3rd Full Album. Each unit have 3 members, with different concepts.

They do sub units usually during concerts and album B sides. Not everyone has a Melody Project. IIRC, Jeongyeon does not have one yet? Yes, only Nayeon has a solo album atp. Time To Twice showcases what Onces really love about them and why we stick around after all these years. To me, personally, the music is second to Time To Twice. 😂 I hope you get a chance to see them live! They are about to go on their 5th World Tour this year! 🎉
