Saying that they are like any group is most offensive, they only have one MV, they cannot give an opinion of the group with a single reference, they are not at all like Ateez and that is the point, the technique to attract attention is to give something striking, which is what people are looking for, then they will adjust their concept and show their voices more, but there is a lot of talent Yes, they used a different sound and did something very flashy with it, that's the point of a debut, don't make comparisons with groups that their songs are all the same with one that just started

It’s so hard for me to be lured into something. But for a DEBUT MV, this IS fire.

I think it’s good quality noise music because they are clearly talented. The practice came out that long ago because they were still training and on like a “survival”-esque show and so they produced their music (with the help of Hoongjoong and other producers) months ago in order to gain popularity. Also did a lot of dance covers which are amazing because they are dancers. I really think these debut songs were made mostly to highlight their dance and performance quality. They are good singers and rappers if you watch them live and I’m sure whatever they have next will be different.

Most title tracks from the noise music groups aren’t focused on vocals, but the performance because the performance is what people want to see. Title tracks are the songs they’re using for music shows, so they pick the songs focused on putting on a show. Bsides are where you’ll get the vocals & amazing ones at that.

Like it or not, these are the songs that are most likely to leave an immediate impression on potential fans so it makes sense why they went with this sound

i feel like it's worth mentioning this song is a predebut song idk if u noticed the dance practice came out way before the mv, and the fact that it's very performance-focused (in my opinion) is because that's what they wanted to show to the public ! they have another title track which is called Rockstar and a few more songs so check them out as well, they can sing..

The one leading the choreo with the twist bit in the chorus who you mentioned a couple of times is Hunter, KQ’s first Thai member. He has insane performance skill and energy

I don’t think you have to like it, but I also found the bg makes bad music rant a bit much for a reaction to a debut group you’ve only heard one song from. I’m also not sure you need to compare them to gg. I just kind of feel like the bg/gg topic should be a topic separate from a video reaction-and really is it’s own topic. It’s a debut song-they’ve not had time to develop a sound yet but saying bg are bad or making bad music belongs on some other video. I know gg have ruled the last year-but as someone who likes edm and harder music I find most gg songs boring. I tend to like the ggs with dark concepts and harder sounds over the current trends for gg. It’s all opinion and preference though.

You can’t go into a new group expecting amazing vocals off the bat with a debut. More lyrical songs aren’t typically comeback or debut songs. To get attention, they try to leave an impact with heavy tracks and beats and catchy hooks. You said all the boy groups are coming out the same…when the multitude of girl groups are sounding similar too. Aespa and NMixx and NewJeans and Kep1er and Pixy and Purple Kiss…most of them you can listen to and say “they sound a lot like ------“. If someone goes into something new with expectations they’ll will ever be satisfied by it. It takes groups a couple albums to develop their sound and start branching out into experimenting. Ateez and StrayKids, my two favorite groups, have both had several albums to develop the sound that makes them unique. Same for BTS, EXO, Twice, Seventeen, (g)I-dle….any group that is at the top. It takes time.

Complain all you want but this is the best boy group debut in A WHILE... y'all are so used to boring music

I think girl groups focus on vocals more because their choreographies aren’t nearly as intense as a lot of boy groups, so they’re able to really shine vocally. That’s why ATEEZ is such a diamond in boy groups because you get amazing vocals AND a powerful performance. We have to remember this is a debut, they’ll get better just like ATEEZ did, and eventually they’ll probably be able to do intense choreos and amazing vocals simultaneously. I think the reason I tend to like boy groups more is BECAUSE of the intense choreo, and I’ve found myself wishing girl groups I watch (mostly dreamcatcher) would bust out an intense ass choreo, because they’re obviously capable of it, but the “standard” for them is to be feminine and petite.

I think this MV is probably for story building (I'll put my take below). The album has two title tracks, so we're hoping we'll get a video of Rockstar shortly. Listening to this album makes me thing xikers will lean more hip hop. Xikey is drill music--it and Rockstar are my favorites. We think xikers will be dokkaebi for their storyline. Korean goblins (dokkaebi) are nature spirits/gods that can inhabit objects and have special powers. They can be mischievous and can also be helpful. They're associated with blue flame (Wikipedia), so it may be that the blue flames around the man in some shots are the members in their natural form. My take: While it appears the goblins are being mischievous, I believe they're being mischievous in a helpful way. The man is working so late that no one is left on the subway by the time he leaves work. He looks stuck in the daily grind of life. I think exposing him to music, the arcade, dancing, and the carnival is their attempt to help him remember what it feels to enjoy life again. At the end of the bridge, they say "tell me what you want. Tell me what you need." and a car appears. I think they gave him what they sensed he wanted. The man smiles ear to ear as he drifts around the parking lot. Minjae's last words are "don't forget." This could have double meaning: 1) "Don't forget" it's our time now (we've debuted). 2) "Don't forget" to have fun and enjoy your life (within the context of the MV). I think they left because they had accomplished their mission. Apparently, goblins are known to inhabit household items like tools and brooms. I think the ten brooms at the end are proof he hadn't been dreaming. He had actually encountered 10 goblins. They may be using the English term Tricky instead of goblin because international fans can have different ideas of what a goblin is (like Lord of the Rings). Tricky gives the general idea (though the title is Goblin House in Korean). I think they picked this as the debut song because it introduces what will likely become an ongoing theme. It'll be interesting to see what kind of music they put out in the future because they have 3 great rappers, but their vocalists are still developing. As far as the members go, I was disappointed there are 10 because I think it's not as approachable for Western audiences. However, after watching them perform, I can see how it would be hard to eliminate anyone because all of the members are really talented (unlike some groups where it's obvious a member was chosen for there looks). They did a dance cover medley on 1thek that was really good, and if you haven't seen their dance practice for Industry Baby you really should.

Honestly I find groups larger than 8 to be pretty uncommon not rare but uncommon, ESPECIALLY with 4th gen (and girl groups). I actually really like this song and mv and choreo, it's a more rap based song/focused which is why there most of the vocals are limited to the chorus. Also it's a debut, you don't usually get a ton of amazing vocals from a debut unless it's a really unique vocal group. I see this as an introduction and I think that's what it's meant to be, a introduction.

When Ateez toured the US, Xikers (then still KQ Fellaz 2) opened for them with Geek and Tricky House and I really liked watching them live. Both the songs (more Tricky House than Geek) were meant to highlight their performance rather than vocals but they do pretty well. As for their debut album I did quite like some of the songs however it might be a bit difficult for them to establish a separate identity from Ateez if their songs sound too similar

I wasn’t necessarily a fan of the title track but the b-sides are brilliant especially Rockstar and Oh my gosh. They blew me away but not surprising coming from KQ, they have so much potential and I’m interested to see how they develop

I genuinely think they're fantastic. If you want something "different" then you can't get better than Kingdom (big props to anyone mentioning them in the comments). Concept, storyline, visuals, styling, vocals, rap, performance, songs, everything is out of the ordinary and with top tier execution. The members also take care of some songs and choreography. They've been doing a lot better now but it's a shame how little attention they get.

the bsides tho i’m not the biggest fan of edm so xikey is my fav song cuz it’s hip hop based. i’ve been listening to it and rockstar non stop and two other bsides really growing on me

Seeing Tricky House live pre-debut was crazy bc i avoided tour spoilers for Atz, and they really had amazing performance energy. I think this was an anticipated song for debut, it was already heard and seen performed before, so it was fun to see it as their debut m/v

The boy group that was being abused by their CEO is Omega X don't worry they are an independent Group now they won their lawsuit against spire entertainment

For KQ's artist, their title tracks mostly follows their lore while the b-sides are the hidden gems. I lpve Rockstar and Oh My Gosh compared to tricky house though.

Looking back on xikers debut halfway through the year, it seems like there's been a reversal. I recently checked out the bg debuts I missed and almost all the new groups are doing either refreshing or bright and energetic non-noise music. Out of 8turn, BND, CMDM, Dios, HAWW, Lun8, The7, TMC, Vi'enx, xikers, Xodiac, and ZB1 only 8turn, Xodiac, and xikers went more toward noise (8turn's debut was noisy in comparison to others, but I wouldn't describe it as full on noise music) and Xodiac's second MV "Special Love" also went refreshing (even though I found their debut disjointed, I think "Special Love" is one of the better soft refreshing songs this year). I wonder how many more new boy group debuts will be softer/refreshing concepts. With the success the girl groups have had, I wouldn't be surprised if the other big 4 boy groups this year follow suit and xikers ends up being unique out of this year's batch of rookies. Then again, Xikers first comeback is August 2nd--maybe they'll switch it up and show their refreshing side too.

can you like actually focus on the dance practice please☠️ you kept going on about things you didn’t like that didn’t even have to do with the video that you’re suppose to be focusing on, which is the dancing. we get it, you don’t like big groups, or powerful songs, but i don’t care when you’re literally watching a dance practice.

I remember this first time I heard this song, Yechan's voice was a hard pill to swallow, I think if you're sure you don't like it you never will, but if you're like in-between wanting to accept it, it'll grow on you.

I just don't think you like Edenary's music, KQs inhouse producers for both Ateez and Xikers. You also have seemed bored/disappointed with Ateez tracks recently too. That's okay though. Personally I think Halazia was gorgeous, unique and distinctive and also Xikers have a fresh and bright and playful debut. This song is meant to be performed live to be truly appreciated. I would recommend you listen to their incredible bsides Oh My Gosh or Xikey or Rockstar, but I think you probably won't vibe with that either, as maybe you just don't like their style. A shame as I think they are real gems!

4th Gen have been lacking, boy group wise, but this is the groups that have slayed in the past 2 years for me. P1Harmony- Not for their title tracks, but the B-Sides on the first 2 albums especially, yaaas... And well, the vocals, of course. E'Last- For Dark Dream and only Dark Dream Kingdom- Their concept is actually unique and a lot of their music reminds me of Inuyasha Ending OSTs XD XDinary Heroes- Music is unique and tea &Team- HYBE does da thing

There definitely starting them as more of a hip hop focused group. But they have a lot of potential to go in different areas. Their vocalists are still developing but their rap line is solid. Yechan whose the youngest. Rap style comes across as cringe at first then you get used to it fairly quickly. He stands out the most to me, with Sumin being my other favorite. In any event, they’re strong point is in there performance ability. That’s KQs bread and butter. I watched their Xikey live performance and they had me hype as hell 😂

I was surprised you know about TAN. They’re so slept on but their music is so good and they’re really good performers! They definitely had the best boy group debut in my opinion within the past 2 years

I feel that girl groups winning because if this kind of music was made by boys it wouldn't be as popular as gg ones (I love this music, so I would listen to these songs by every group, but I'm one of minority I guess). Txt and Enhypen do this kind of music, but guess what, it's HYBE. Also mostly high charting music comes from new girl groups who were expected to be popular, Le sserafim and New Jeans (of course, it's HYBE), IVE (Wonyoung and Yujin from Iz*One), there wasn't boy groups lately (2022-2023) who was formed by companies like SM or Hybe. And there's always one exception, like Fifty fifty (like was with Everglow). What this comment wasn't meant to offend you or point out that you're wrong or anything like that, just my take. Maybe I'm wrong and this is not the reasons. (You know maybe check ONF, (in korean pronounce as On n Off, guess ONF as a whole or O N F is okay too, like BTS or Txt), their music is different too, maybe you'll like it. They're from the same company as Oh My Girl. 5 of them went to military together to return together and we'll be back soon, except maknae, who is Japanese. I'll recommend their hit song We must love)

It think debut’s are very different than comebacks. The debut is simply to pique your interest and give a taste of what they can do. In fact, it’s become more common to hold back on their debut songs to give them room to grow in comebacks, which is where they really try to one-up themselves. Although I understand, I still agree that it’s kind of disrespectful to compare them to other groups in a negative way when they’re just starting out. They’re just babies and they need room to grow if they’re in it for the long game.

I don't listen to girl kpop groups more then boys and I like kpop boy groups but don't say they are winning? And also the only girl group song I have listened to was itsy wannabe. What makes them win? And who else? I probably 1 out of a million but you shouldn't say what you don't know either and I actually enjoyed the whole song. Maybe your just tired of these concepts but back then there were songs that are now coming back. Could be this in the next century later on and you will probably love it again.

I knew that you wouldn´t like it but I love it, I think the sound it´s really new, the south asian referense is amazing, the concept as well. I think is a matter of preference, I see what you are saying but I don´t think boy groups should follow gg formula, all will be the same if thats the case.

Hongjoong was heavily involved in the composing and arranging of the album, which is why you can definitely hear the Ateez influence. I think KQ Ent. should have given them a more unique sound to call their own. I can’t wait to check out Rockstar and the rest of the tracks.

New Boygroups with something DIFFERENT: TAN, KINGDOM, TRENDZ

Honestly this type of songs “hard” and not so melodic on the chorus always do better on bgs, you can see it w groups that have released more “soft & melodic” tt and they don’t do as good in numbers as their hard hitting songs, so they just continue doing so, it may not gather huge gp attention but it gets them actual stans & better numbers

i will say personally i think with the full album, this was a strong debut. i also think they went for a strong feel since boy group fans typically are drawn to this kind of sound. thats why the groups that have been getting popular are getting popular. if i was looking for more soft sounds, id go to a girl group who typically do those concepts well. boy groups do strong sounds well, so thats why i think they do them more often. not saying i dont enjoy the softer things or more melodic songs, but i can understand why those often stay as bsides for boy groups. also, i do find myself through out the day going "shanty shanty yea yea yea" hahaha so definitely something rememberable in this song for me

new bg's i'd recommend are tan, elast, and aimers. i don't know much about them but plave has an interesting concept with some pretty good music

Like a few people have already mentioned, I feel there are a few boy groups who have stood out to me: Kingdom, E'Last, TAN, and Trendz. Although they're not "new" I will always ride for ONF and OnlyOneOf.

I know you wanted boy groups but they’re the ones that came to mind as soon as you mentioned hooks,singing,etc. Also i absolutely agree with you. When first listened to the song I didn’t hate it but I didn’t love it either and I didn’t know why but you explained it quite well and I think that’s why I don’t love it as much as I thought I would and I even find myself liking the bsides more.

I think it's a solid debut even tho I'm not particularly a fan of the song or the choreo, they are pretty young themselves so i assume the targeted audience would be younger people too, like teenagers. They do have that young bg feel like kinda "immature" if you know what I mean, and I think that's exactly what I personally didn't like. But as you said if it came out like 4/5 years ago I'd probably love it. It's a good debut and I can't wait to see the progress and their growth

I think it is preference bcz Ik sum ppl that still love big groups but I do want a 4-5 member group of just straight monsters but I feel like companies just think they know best so they put out what they believe will do well

I think CIX was the group that debuted in the recent years that really stood out to me. Their whole discography is really good. That’s why they’re one of my ults along with EXO and Seventeen

The song was more lean to the performance side

i’m a big fan of noise music and hard hitting music in general. like i stan stray kids and ateez but i really couldn’t bring myself to like this. i think it never really takes a break so it sounded kinda messy for me. maybe if it had little parts where it chills out for a bit it would seem more hard hitting too. the boys are very skilled tho gotta admit that.

I admit I've also been experiencing a bit of burnout with boy groups and have been listening to the new Gaho album 'Diamond' pretty much non-stop for a change of pace and I love it. His voice is so beautiful and he writes and produces his own music. I highly recommend taking a listen.

7:21 i really like drippin especially nostalgia and young blood and a lot of their bsides, elast too i love swear and i think shelter and desire are one of their best bsides, i like kingdom too the concept is amazing and they are really crative with the choreos too in my opinion, bdc are not that active but all their titles are good. i cant think of any more groups, i know you know about onlyoneof and verivery but they are soooo good too i love every single verivery bside like they are amazing and the CAN dance too?? and onlyoneof i feel like every title track before libido deserves sooo much more recognition, in my opinion savanna and dora maar are one of the best songs ever idk maybe you wont even like them but i tried my best (im sorry if i made some typos or if i didnt even made sense but english is not my first language :D i tried tho but idk love ya

I would say DKB are the only BG that comes to mind with a different or unique feel. The closest thing to hard-hitting they’ve had was their Sober comeback but they’re predominantly mellow and more RnB feel. They also have incredibly creative choreo that they make themselves so they don’t lack in performance but it’s just less aggressive! I know you’ve had reactions to them on the channel before I just hope they get to properly breakout as I think they’re massively underrated ❤

I get what you mean. The industry is becoming so saturated with the noisy sound. I mean if it’s done correctly I’ll listen to it. I just think this song wasn’t so much the case. I like the direction today’s GG’s are going though. Lots of call backs to early KPOP formula, great vocal mixing and production etc. Maybe their actual debut will be better. Idk 🤷‍♀️

I feel as though why they went with this concept as music wise is because this is how you grab the audiences attention by having a hard hitting song , hard hitting Choreo and a captivating music video. I highly doubt they’re going to keep up with this concept only because they want to show off their other aspects as in dance, singing, rapping, etc.. this is just you know a debut or pre-debut and debut or pre-debut’s are always going to be hard hitting because if they were to come out with a slower song it wouldn’t gain as much attraction.

Tbh I like the song- but I agree there doesn’t seem to be super stand out vocalists, they seem to be focused more on rap and dance but I mean- they are their own group separate to ateez so they probably weren’t going to have the same stand out vocalist similar to Jongho to make them different plus it’s hard to find a vocalist as good a Jongho let’s be real

Although I agree that the song itself isn't the most refreshing I think that this is one of my favorite choreos in the past year or so. I do think that it would have been better in the long-term if they had debuted with 5 or 6 members but they were set on debuting with this song for a long time now and it looks better performance wise with more people so they debuted with 10. I do think that the large group number and the overused concept with not do well for them in the long run though which sucks because this is one of my favorite kpop performances in a long time.
