Brilliant design. What's even more impressive is there is no hacking of the vehicle. In between the trips around the world it reverts to a daily with just a little elbow grease. The modular boxes and table is genius. Earned a sub.
Well done, I did something similar but kept the back seats in (folded down) and had a solid setup in the back with the shelf that would slide over the folded seat. My only bug bear was it was too high. (Same level as the cubby box with matress over laying on the cubby box for more width) and moving around was tough getting in and out. I really liked the the window insulation idea. That would keep the cold air out and light. I would love to take out the cubby boxes and make something lower but still keep some sort of rear seat. Maybe like what the defender has
Beautiful! But... I prefer no build system. I have LR-3(Discovery-3) and I didn't build any cabinet or drawer system. I just put container boxes and backpacks tightly, not to move when I driving. In between boxes I put blankets for cushion. For fastening the backpacks, I just use rear seat belt. Everything set without building any wooden cabinet. Because I like flexibility.
From South Africa I re_ configured my 2002 disco 2 td5. Into a stand alone off grid stealth camper. My non negotiable was to be able to sit upright on the bed, which I achieved. Other are full tailgate checkbox / 50l Waeco freezer / 1.8m bed / pantry / clothing storage / field toilet & shower / 300W suitcase solar panel / pity I can't show pics.
Sounds great! I've been mulling over the interior layout/design for my landrover for a few months, being able to sit up on the bed is a biggie for me also.
Yes, it is true that the seat for the table is somewhat high, but it is due to the size of the gas bottle, with a smaller one it could improve the space. I've actually only used the inside table 2 times. Since I have the Vaude tent, I have used the extra space it provides.
No better vehicle for adventures, we’ve had some great trips with our two boys over the years in our trusty discovery! Really nice little camper and well thought out. Also, what’s the song called please?
Where would you store the foam bed pads when you're not sleeping on them? Those look huge- comfortable - but huge. Be tough to store them anywhere that I can see in the truck when they're not deployed.
Wow Impressive and interesting Where did you get the silver things to stop entering the light from the windows from?, 4:01 I am searchiing the measures or fot buying them for my land rover discovery 2 Thanks
Nice house on wheels! What’s your height and what’s the length of the bed? I’m very skeptical that a tall guy like me (1,85m) would fit comfortably on it.
I'm 1,80 tall. You just put the front seats in the màxim frontal position and you sleep very comfortable. I arrange it for two people, is for this the woodwork is under the bed and not in one side tall.
@@alfonso.auromare thanks! I was considering a small and boring cargo van for stealthiness, the length of the bed is about the same, but a disco seems more fun and it can go anywhere.
