I'm lucky to have found Dr Bronson and not live too far away. This process cured my sleep disorder, acid reflux, teeth grinding, face pain, posture, chewing technique... It's insane the results I've gotten. I used it 3 years so far, working with his son Dr. Alex who is extremely nice. The biggest shift was working with Kathy Winslow, the oromyofunctional therapist he recommends, to start mouth taping. Buteyko breathing was great too. Those are both cheap options, though not recommended for everyone i guess so get a consult from Kathy. The Alf helped widen my smile, which is a little more beautiful. :) The hard part for me has been forward motion, but he changed the alf to be able to be pulled forward by rubber bands and that seems to be helping. I might get SFOT surgery if this doesnt work bc after getting dry needling and physical therapy, i think my palate needs more bone to dramatically move forward and meet where my relaxed bottom jaw wants to hang. I feel good but i know i could feel better. But ill try the alf another while - it can keep working until you're 80!

Hi there, I'm delighted to hear you've had great results with this. I'm about to start using an ALF soon along with myotherapy to address poor tongue posture - are you able to give any advice about how to get the best outcome with the ALF? Did you ever experience any issues with it?

I had an ALF at age 10 and it really worked. I have enough space for my teeth and I don't have any dental problem, except for my jaw and chin that are not really in the right position... I feel like after learning where my tongue should rest, it’s now become accustomed to staying there most of the time, after perhaps about a month or two of trying. When it is there, I feel as though I am able to feel the ‘old structure’ as you put it, and my tongue is pushing up against it. For the first month or two I was unsure as to whether I was doing things properly or not, but now I feel, after some persistence, and double checking I’m doing things correctly, I’m making a bit of headway. Thanks Mike. Keep up the great work. One question I have is, if somebody has an underbite, where should they keep their mandible in order to achieve growth? Bite at the back, or the front? I guess the back?

@amen7692
@amen7692 5 лет назад
@@Sariine436 Mike Mew said in one of his videos that he woud not recommend implants and he would focus on mewing + posture to move maxilla up and forwards. After some time watching videos, reading, researching, i think these are most important things : Whole tongue should push against palate, especially root of the tongue, if you say "G" root of your tongue should be touching soft palate, keep it there (all the time). Keep your teeth together, but don't grind or push hard. Also if your upper jaw isnt wide enough, try to open your mouth in front of mirror and see if your tongue is touching bottom of your upper teeth, if it is, try not to, because it should not. Start doing chin tuck exercise + get your neck and back posture right if it's not because it's also very important. If your neck and spine isn't fixed + your overall body posture you might develop face asymmetry or worsen it if you have one. Swallow with your tongue - food, water, saliva, everything only with tongue, don't use cheeks. John mew said it's more important to move jaws up and forward than to increase intermolar widtht, but for some people with too narrow jaws it's probably necessary. I dont know if tongue could increase intermolar width in adults, but Astro Sky uploaded video on thumb pulling. For anyone who want to increase intermolar width I'd recommend do all I mentioned above for a year. If it doesnt't work try thumb pulling, if still nothing, go for palate expander, this will work 100%.

@@untypebanalsuryoutube8076 they do. Dr Mew states that bad oral posture and overall posture cause facial asymmetry and other facial "deformities". Dr Mew. tells us that by correcting our oral and back posture everything will slowly fix itself naturally. Starecta states it's a lack of dental height that cause all the issues. So bacically Moreno is saying that you cannot change your oral posture and back posture and have everything be fixed, since your bad posture was created by a lack of dental height. You have to wear the starecta appliance to correct this according to Moreno. Now which ones the truth? I really have noooo idea. I also don't know where to orient myself ... It re-hung my jaw in a new position and cured me of symptoms for SIX YEARS! I also have chiropractic adjustments every 6 weeks or so- Not for the jaw, but to function with scoliosis. The results regarding teeth position is that the gap is kinda closed and my lower mandible is recently starting to expand noticeably. I only had the lower premolars extracted, so my case is not exactly like yours. My recoomendation would be for you to concentrate on how to mew properly without your premolars and be able to expand the upper jaw, eventually with some years your lower mandible will catch up if done properly I think. I have been trying to get correct mouth posture but i have a problem with putting my back tongue on my soft palate. I am able to do so but then i am not able to breathe at all. When i really force to breathe i get this snoring sound. I am not sure whether this is because i am doing it the wrong way or that my tongue has grown into the airway. How would i solve this? I do have a slight forward head posture and doing a chin tuck does not seem to help me breath with my tongue on the soft palate.

It sounds like you need palate expansion, there isn't enough room for your tongue in your mouth. Keep mewing, try the Alf, I used to gag when I swallowed correctly and now it's much better.

After doing this mewing thing my jaw has shifted. It's always shifted to the left causing assymatry in my face. Now it's gone to the right and for their first time the teeth on my right side (upper and lower) are touching. Only thing is that I can't open my mouth as wide now but maybe that will change?

When I wake up in the morning, my lips are together, my tongue supports the palate-more from the front rather than in the middle, but my upper and lower teeth are not together, my lower jaw is dropped down a bit as if it was resting, is that normal?

Dont worry about too much. As long as your teeth are not miles away from eatch other it is fine.

Same Problem. I recommend chewing an hour before bed and also Mouth Taping. Vix around the nose and the neck helps to promote nasal breathing too. Try Sleeping on your side while in a good chin tuck position also. Do Not use a pillow at all.

Seprons its all about the chin-tuck. if you can maintain a good chin-tuck then your mouth will not open during sleep. The thing is when you sleep on your back, your more likely to not keep a good chin-tuck all night long, making your head slip backwards and therefore your mouth opening wide open.

Taping at night improves my sleep and the u if the roof of my mouth. I learned it from another Dr. I didn't know how to swallow. Lol. Sorry can't not laugh. I wish you'd show wtf you guys are talking about though. Anyway i notice the swallow seems to help with my head being too tilted back/chin too high and forward. And then a chain reaction with shoulder blades and muscles. Anyone else or am I just weird and OCD?

I think mine was $8K. That's not including adjustments and oromyofunctional therapy and osteopathy. But I bet it's cheaper than plastic surgery, and it made me more beautiful and comfortable.

Do not bother with this appliance!! I tried this device for a week and it triggered dizziness, i had to remove it and as my jaw repositioned back to normal dizziness got worse. I am still suffering with brain fog and all sorts of symptoms. No matter how simple something looks, there are always risks associated!

How do you mean "back to normal"? Your jaw went back to where it was before when you stopped the appliance? That doesn't mean that's a normal position. That means it went back to an abnormal position which the appliance was attempting to correct?

Sounds like maybe it did something to your inner ear... I am on year 3 of Alf and my TMJ pain migrated from my face to now just a little by my ears. It's all connected, I wouldn't give up so easy!

Finally a video that is helpful! But theres no dentists certified in my state...? I'd love to get this treatment... I really want to breathe better and expand my palate a little, I just need someone who is experienced in ALF? This is great, I just wish there were more dentists available. I'm not able to relocate, will regular dentists or orthodontist be able to do the same type of procedure?

Starting with correct tongue position and chewing will widen my upper teeth? In that case shouldn't i get an overbite? (Upper teeth wider than lower)
