My 2007 SLK (r171) 350's curb weight is 1465 kg and has 272 PS or 268 bhp or 200 kW @ 6000 rpm. A 2007 SLK (r171) 200's curb weight is 1390 kg and has 163 PS or 161 bhp or 120 kW @ 5500 rpm. A 2021 Porsche GT3 weighs 1410 kg just to mention the weight compared to the Mercs. And oh... the Porsche has 510 PS or 503 bhp or 375 kW @ 8400 rpm.
Had my 2008, SLK 200 remapped by professional to 214 CV from 184 CV, the extra torque also makes a difference. Now for a car this size it’s really fast, could get another 30 CV from changing a pulley wheel, but no need. 🤔👍
It might be slow in a straight line. But, lower it about 30 mm, put good tires on, a brake upgrade and pully tune + ECU and you will have a much faster car. The platform is great. And I know this because I use to drive my dad's AMG a lot. But now I only drive a Slk 200, however it is a CK20 from Carlsson so stil close to 200 hp. But I have plans that will make 240-250 hp possible 😁
