Dan said there is no arc for Louis, but actually his growth is obvious. Also, he said if someone sees Louis as a psychopath, he failed. Well, I would describe him as a prototype for Dark triad, psychopathy + machiavellianism + narcissism. Still, I don't see why would he consider that as a failure, but I think everyone sees Louis as a psychopath.

Louis definitely "grows," in that he climbs up the corporate ladder and becomes a successful news stringer with his own firm. However, I think his character arc differs from his material progression in that Louis never really changes as a person. His morals, his worldview, his emotions, all remain unchanged as he navigates his way as a stringer.

Once the audience sees Lou as a psychopath then he is reduced to a "bad apple" of society rather than being a product of the society and being actually rewarded for it
