Thank you. Leaving this comment beneath the unrequested undoubtedly gracious highly virtuous blurb from YT concerning the UN's position on "human driven" change. We are teetering along hilarious levels of fascism these days, you "gotta" love it. Otherwise, Thanks for the enlightening interview. Thank you for your wonderful insight and the pragmatism found within "Climate Uncertainty and Risk", Dr Curry. Thank you for not tossing the baby out w the bathwater and just staying true to the facts about our "understanding" of these changes. Carry on.

Puhleese. It's an exaggeration to call Judy a facist, just because of the company she keeps.

At about 47 a very rosy picture of plants taking carbon dioxide in is painted. But I understand there are various types of carbon dioxide and what we emit is not the type that plants are sucking up. Please elaborate.

More important are the different kinds of plants that use CO2 in different ways, specifically C3 versus C4 plants. Do your own research, Judith Curry is not the person to follow on this, she is a well known climate change denier and her mistaken views on hurricane strength and frequency are well documented --- among other denial-related faux pas. Most of what I heard was blatant misinformation or paltering, and I quit listening at about 10 minutes.

Lois, great question. There are various types of CO2 depending on how you mean. The big difference right now is "fossil CO2" vs. "bio CO2", when we talk about climate. If carbon comes out of the rocks and either escapes as 'natural' gases or is burned, that's fossil, and the fumes move from the long "slow carbon cycle" into the short "fast carbon cycle". The fast carbon cycle is the one where molecules move around different living things, air, and water. That's also where CO2 and CH4 (methane, the largest part of 'natural' gas) control global average air temperature. The more carbon moves from long to short cycle, the hotter we get; the faster carbon moves from long to short cycle, the nastier the change. Right now, the rate is like the velocity of a Predator drone compared to the speed limit of a school zone. We know this from two centuries of study, including on the different isotopes of carbon and of oxygen in CO2, and how different plants take them up (C3 vs C4 plants), so we can tell one third of CO2 in the air now is due to fossil trade. And we know any solution must start with ending fossil trade as soon as possible, especially ending methane emissions as much as possible as soon as possible. Let me know if you have more questions. Thanks

I have friends who are scientists. Judith Curry isn't one of them. Mine actually know science.

So few comments. Mysterious.
