being a part of the sonic community genuinely sucks. one time i was talking about a sonic game in a comment section on youtube and saying that i honestly didnt think it was that bad, and people were being too harsh on sega. wanna know what people responded with? "meat riding goes crazy, L opinion". so now i say that a game is bad, and the response is "bro shut up, stop complaining". write more than 3 letters about the game? "quit yapping". there is no way to win, all roads lead to salty kids who dont know what opinions are.
Bro... I'm serious. The Sonic fanbase just doesn't know how much of a problem they actually are. Most of them can't even give proper feedback. All they can say is "It's trash" or "It sucks" with no explanation of why they feel that way and some do have good or decent reasons to feel that way. But most of tem are just stupid reasons that really shouldn't be a problem to begin with. The fanbase need to take a look at themselve for once in their garbage lives.
@@emmanueldavis1872I don't know how else to tell you this but you generally are basically no better. Complaining and whining about something that isn't as bad as you make it out to be. The fact that you act like this is most of the community is straight garbage. I don't want to seem like I am trying to insult you but don't try to act like the bigger person when you can't go on about a fan base without bringing up anything negative.
One thing I noticed in about the fandom was that at least in non-moderated places or little to none websites, fans tend to act extremely insufferable and snobbish when someone calls out games that do have flaws or not bad, and it turns into a heated brawl twitter argument out of nowhere and can be a huge pain to deal with these type of people. In some places where there's a mod control like reddit (defiantly not a great site fandom but however), there seems to be little of this discourse, but still, the hivemind still unfortunately remains.
I think the short quills and the light shade of blue only work in one game, sonic runners because in that game that design was fitting the artstyle, ever since then it stated to become weird and inferior to the last version but does that make me someone who complains about all minimal things? does that make me negative? NO! this is just an opinion from something little we are not complaining about everything, we are just saying opinions about little things we want to be improved in the future to make the series grow better it is not a big deal!

I'm pretty sure the reason you see the Sonic fanbase get discussed more often than other fandoms in a negative sense is because RU-vid will recommend you the stuff that gets the most clicks like Sonic fandom internet drama. No matter what fanbse I go to, there's always drama happening or claims that it's the most toxic on the internet because gasp they have a different opinion.
See I assume it's because of people like Chris and that one "consequences" kid, while yes people like them exist in other fandoms they are the most known so the fandom they are a part of will be attached to their fame. I know that they aren't the most popular now, but you know what Im talking about.

I really dislike how I didn’t like sonic frontiers and whenever I say negative things about it the fanbase gets pressed, like the game has a dozen issues but people think its okay cuz of a couple boss battles
True, the game has issues. But people are totally trashing the game for some of the dumbest reason imaginable. As long as your reasons sound like real reasons to why the game is bad, then thank GOD! But you must be talking about another side of the communty or something. Cause all I've been hearing was absolute hate for Sonic frontiers. Just straight hate. They say the story is bad, they say the animation is bad, hating Sonic's new voice, you know.... The typical Sonic fanbase complaining about everything deal. To me, Fronteirs was good. I was just happen to not be stuck running in one direction anymore. I can finally have real fun as Sonic for once. Because, I can pretty much go where ever and do whatever stupid, idiotic tricks I want to try. Frontiers was a good game to me. It wasn't great, it wasn't bad. It was right in the middle. It had pretty good controls and I realized that Sega was actually trying something new. I like when game companies try new things, so I'm not too mad at Frontiers for turning out the way it did. But I can respect anyone wo say they don't like Frontiers. I just hate that they say they hate it and never say the problems they have with it. And most who do say what they have a problem with, they only say "Everything". I for one don't think everything about the game is bad. But even when Sega fixes one issue, the fanbase finds something new to complain about. There's literally no way to win with the Sonic fanbase. There's just not. I hope whatever problems you have with it gets fixed. Though, I'm sure more problems will come up if they fixed those. This fanbase is crazy man. Just crazy. I mean laughable crazy 🤣 I just wish this fanbase would act more mature. The Mario fanbase is athousand more times more mature than the Sonic fanbase will ever be.
@emmanueldavis1872 I just think it has something to do with younger fans getting into something and portraying it as infallible or simply just extremely spoiled or insufferable fans that are no different from most fandoms and these types of people can attract at most whatever might be the snobbish types.

In fact, by the same token people who shut down those for “not having good enough reasons to dislike the game” also don’t give good enough reasons to why they like the game other than “the story is the best since this game,” “Ian Flynn knocked it out of the park with the characters,” Frontiers is a 10/10,” or “Keep crying. The game is great and you’re wrong.” So if people like you can say it’s amazing without needing to give a analytical explanation as to why they like the game or think it’s amazing, then why are people who dislike it REQUIRED to explain their side. It seems like negativity is only ok as long as it fits the status quo like with the old Movie Sonic Design or with Rise of Lyric’s horrendous release. You can say that I and others may have a bias but so do folks like you.

If that be the case, then Sonic fans who don't like a certain game, shouldn't even complain because they're not even taking the steps necessary for Sega to improve. Cause if all fans are gonna do is complain, then Sega's not going to take you seriously. They're just gonna see you as another crybaby in this pool of crybaby fans that Sonic is unfortunately stuck with. My old History teacher used to say it all the time "If you don't vote, don't complain." Cause you had a chance to try and make your say mean something. But you threw it away. This applies to Sonic fans who don't explain what they hate about a game. If you don't bring light to your specific problem, then don't complain. Cause you had the chance to make it mean something. But you always throw it away. These types of fans have to also acknowledge that what they have a problem with will not necessarily be a problem for another fan. They must also acknowledge that Sega will not be able to fix every little issue you have with a game. I'm not saying you're one of these fans, but I'm just saying. Nothing will get better if no one wants to say what the problem is and if they don't want to explain the problem, they shouldn't complain.

I love talking about small details no one really notices because in the end of the day they’re still important, unfortunately Sonic Fans hate when you do that and it isn’t overly positive. 12:40 yeah like i loved the sonic frontiers spindash but i agree that is lame that its just a boost reskin and the thing of crounching and press multiple times LT to charge a spindash its pointless because you can just move and hold LT to instantly spindash or i hate the fact when you charge a spindash in the air to do a drop dash you get stuck in the air leading to some unfair deaths caused by the fact you cant move
Yeah it’ll definitely get better next video. The reason it was inconsistent in this vid was because I recorded the video in different sessions months apart My bad on that. It will be better next time. Trust 🙏🏾
This is why I don't have Twitter anymore (that and aswell as he who must never be named) I'd got attacked for saying that Sonic Prime is better than Sonic X, I said that Sonic Prime season 1 and 2 are great and season 3 was lack luster and that it's better than Mega Man Fully Charged (another Man of Action and Wildbrain Show) and this MF said that I was capping that I should watch the subbed version of the show, I did watch the subbed version of Sonic X and it's pretty mediocre (the 4kids dub sucks though,) just because I think Sonic Prime, AOSTH and Sonic OVA are better won't effect Him. This has been going on as far back as the early days of RU-vid, heck I remember this sh*t when Sonic Unleashed was announced, there are those who said the Werehog looked stupid and these Toxic positives said things like "You just hate it because it's not Sonic 3 and Knuckles, it's got 2D that you've been asking for, you can't judge a game off of one picture, you just hate it because Jason Griffith is the voice of Sonic" and this was after how awful Sonic 06 was and that game did severe damage to the brand so of course you're going to be concerned about Sonic Unleashed (I was in the same boat as the concerned Sonic fans as I wanted to be done with the series after games like Sonic Heroes, Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic 06) turns out I'd like Sonic Unleashed and I thought it was (at the time) a step in the right direction for the series and We got Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations afterward, after Sonic Forces the same was going to happen, and it turns out that Sonic Frontiers is Sonic Unleashed all over again. TBH between the whole Classic Sonic vs. Modern Sonic, Ryan Drummond vs. Jason Griffith vs. Roger Craig Smith vs. Devan Mack, Black Eyes vs. Green Eyes, Tan Arms vs. Blue Arms and Long Quills vs. Short Quills drives me crazy, which is why again, I don't have Twitter any more (it's pretty much DeviantART 2.0) I'm just going to wait for Sonic X Shadow Generations to come out and play it for myself, I don't want to jump to conclusions if it's going to be good or bad, The Sonic Fanbase can but just as bad as the Anime community, the Console Fanboys and the PC Elitist but the MLP Fandom, Undertale Fanbase and Super Smash Bros. Fanbase are just vile IMO.
I always knew that people didnt like sonic 06, forces and stuff but it only revealed to me more stuff about this community once frontiers came out and it was awful; now im seeing this video and it really opened my eyes about it, alot of things I wanted to say about it was already explained in this video. I hate when people say “stop being so negative and complaining about everything” but my dude… there’s a lot to complain about in this 30 year franchise. And it’s not always just meaningless complaints it’s sometimes criticism and opinions and preferences.
I find it funny because “being so negative and complaining” as they put it was how we got things like Movie Sonic’s redesign and the changes/fixes we got in the Frontiers updates

It's funny how Sonic Team is aware of how far they have to go to reach the ideal state for Sonic games and are looking for criticism to help them improve yet, toxic positivity fans refuse to contribute because not liking something about Sonic is taken as a personal offense. Recent examples of Sonic Team wanting criticism are the multiple play tests they had for Frontiers and Kishimoto being grateful for all the criticism for Frontiers and applying what they could to Frontiers while saving the rest of the criticism for the next game. If nobody shared their dissatisfaction, Sonic Frontiers would've been in a much worse state. These fans need thicker skin.
There's just something about Sonic that doesn't allow us to submerge into what's given to us or what it is, we search for the good to spot the bad, and spot the bad to search for the good. Purely cuz we have no clue what to expect from the past, present, and future. We all act like we all know the franchise better and understands it better than each other. I can't hide away from the truth, I get over critical bout Sonic opinions too from here to here.
I understand people are aloud to have a opinion and all that shit like it’s okay to dislike something But as a fanbase we really can’t talk 😂 our fanbase can be so fucked up and weird sometimes, with all the furry shit and shippings/fetishes, etc. this fanbase creates so many fucking weird AU’s and fan fictions like a good example would be Sonadow. So I’m not really in the mood for hearing tiny opinions from any Sonic fans I’m just thankful that Sega hasn’t done anything disturbing with the characters like Archie comics(Ken Penders mainly). So I don’t want Sega to hear out the opinions of any of this fanbase, cuz from what I’ve seen our fans have a lot of weird ideas
i've been out of the loop on sonic for a while, but as a soon-to-be-former pokemon fan i've heard all this and more. maybe the ass-kissers accusing people of "looking for something to complain about" are just universal among fandoms...
I have to agree it sucks being a sonic fan i love the games But with games like unleashed and other games people defend they will attack anyone who hates them

@@Spidey_. Hey, so I wanted to take a minute and apologize to you for how I acted in the comments section of Tyrecordslol's video on Mario vs Sonic 8 months ago. After that day I decided to do my own research on Sonic and realized I was severely downplaying Sonic since I didn't know about the context of certain things. Looking back at that conversation now I can see I was acting really immature there. The reason why I acted the way I did was because Ty's video really put me in such a bad mood because of how much he downplayed Mario. Especially with that whole "Mario is not the same Mario in all his games" argument. That specifically made me mad because it was very clear he knew absolutely nothing about Mario lore. (Please hear me out for what I have to say about his video so that you could see what I mean) Some examples being - Mario in SM64, Galaxy, and Odyssey not being the same Mario even though there's a cutscene in Odyssey where Mario captures Bowser and we see Mario's past adventures which include SMB1, SMB3, SMW, and most importantly SM64. Not to mention in Galaxy 2 in the Galaxy called Throwback Galaxy which is actually Whomp's Fortress from SM64 not only has its first mission be called "Return of the Whomp King" but is also missing the breakable walls that Mario needed to break to get a Star. So yeah they're definitely the same Mario. - He claimed that White Tanooki Mario (and in this case regular as well since the White Tanooki Suit changes into a regular Tanooki Suit after its use has been fulfilled) can't fly and yet when we look at the literal credits of 3D Land that Mario actually CAN fly with his Tanooki Suit. - Claims that 3D World Mario > Paper Mario (if we're going with his idea that all Mario's are different) and his only reason why is because 3D World Mario has more Power-ups which doesn't make sense since there are a lot more you need to know to determine which would be the strongest version of Mario such as their feats, accomplishments, etc. For example, the best 3D World Mario has fought is Fury Bowser who pails in comparison to Star Rod Bowser, Shadow Queen, and Super Dimentio. - States that it's outlandish to think that the Void in Super Paper Mario was destroying all of Mario's Worlds because we don't see the Void in games like Mario Galaxy (even though that game not only came out after SPM but also if the Void was present in Galaxy then wouldn't that actually confirm that there are different Mario's since both adventures would be happening at the same time?) If anything that idea of his really didn't mean anything. - Claims that 3D World Mario could use the Gold Flower which doesn't even come from 3D Land/World and instead comes from NSMB2. (remember he specified that only 3D Land and 3D World Mario were the same not any of the 2D Mario games so he immediately contradicted his own logic) Also, this wasn't in his video but I did find a clip of him putting Mario and Sonic up against Goku and Vegeta and claiming that Mario wasn't even planetary level, and the reason why he believed that was because he compared what is referred to as "Planetoids" in Mario (the levels in Galaxy) to our home planet even though Mario's HOME planet looks to be the same size as ours. And you know Ty's video is bad when even themightofgeburah (someone that's a powerscaler for Sonic) agrees that Ty's video was bad. There's a lot more I can say but you should get my point by now. From that day going forward I decided to just instead stick to defending Mario from downplay since that's who I know better and not talk about Sonic unless I know for sure I'm right about something with him. As for who I think would win well I don't have an answer as there's a lot to consider with both characters and I'll leave that to the experts. But yeah that's all I have to say and once again I'm sorry for how I acted.
