Star Rail had lost me for the last 6 months at least. Maybe even most of the year. But this got me to finally finish the Xianzhou. Sparkles Monodrama trailer is legit the coolest thing Ive seen from the game. Ive always had a hard time caring about the characters in Star Rail compared to Genshin, but I really love everything Ive seen of Sparkle.

I laughed so hard at her "Remember to fix later" title. That was even funnier, then "No wonder so many trailblazers call her mo...". The level of "self awareness" of HSR's team never stops to amuse me. But yeah - as a HUGE Joker/Harley fan - her last trailer was AMAZING. However - you have to be CRAZY, if you think, that I'll pull for her instead of the. single. best. character. in all 3 Hoyo games - Raiden Mei. I mean Raiden Shogun. I mean Acheron (???). (Also this is the closes to the Red Seele, that we'll ever get. So... It is what it is)

Okay this is my theory: I think the mask had some demon or entity in it that eventually possessed the girl and turned her into ‘Sparkle’ (or the Masked Fool personality that we see in-game) and I think the demon is an emanator of chaos like the emanator of destruction that possessed Tingyun. First for the first trailer, at the start the actual girl playing as Sparkle had a very normal outlook and disposition. The mask she was playing under was also normal, the video talks about how even when the girl was angry or sad the mask would keep smiling. I think the demon was waiting and was slowly possessing her, because next it talks about how the mask later on started copying her emotions: mirroring them. I think the girl knew something was off but had no way of telling anyone because it was reflecting the girl’s emotions to remain undetected. The girl was calling out for help, that’s why she’s crying at the end of the second one at 1:28 because the demon in the mask is actually possessing her and she’s saying ‘The one in the mirror, that’s Sparkle.’ The demon reflecting her emotions, that’s Sparkle. Also, listen to the voice too, this is when it starts to change. Now, at the third round of the girl showing off the mask, I think the demon has almost fully possessed her, that’s why her emotions are intense and the mask is almost like mocking her. First, there was the manic happiness, then the angry one which shows the girl tied up with strings like a puppet, then the sad look has the girl being laughed at by the masks as she’s strung up by strings and unable to move. Now, this is where the possession is complete I think and the girl at the start either gives up or the mask overpowers her because she then says ‘You’re like a face… staring at me’ then the girl in the video cries and says ‘I’m not Sparkle..’ then there’s a slight voice change as the eyes open and the demon fully takes on the personality of Sparkle by saying ‘’I am Sparkle’. At the end is just ‘Sparkle’ now. The next trailer explains the emanator of chaos thing. So in ‘Melodrama’ I really only think their an emanator of chaos because she says how ‘I am Elation!’ Which feels very much like a reveal, but idk. It would make sense because she feels very important to the story, especially with this build up. I wouldn’t be surprised if everything and everyone new we’ve met in the Penacony story has been Sparkle clones (Sparkle swapping into Black Swan, Adventurine and Acheron in the trailer). It would make sense that an emanator of chaos went to Penacony to stir stuff up like the (Spoilers) Firefly and Robin deaths being Sparkle clones which is kind of like the trailer where Sparkle goes around killing her clones but is like playing games with them. The whole thing is an act. I apologize for the amount of yapping I just felt like sharing what I thought. It very well could be the fake backstory thing that Sparkle does or just in general something different and I’m looking too deep into this lol
