My channel guide is on my iPad. I watch love tv in my house on my iPad. I record 5 shows at once. I watch all football games live anywhere I am of my smartphone. Set my dvr from anywhere I go of my phone. When it rains or storm I watch tv. If I wanna listen to music I switch on pandora from my dvr and I can check my RU-vid from my dvr too. Pause and play love tv from any room. Watch recorded shows or on demand on the go from laptop, iPad, or phone. I think direct is gonna stay my provider :)
I actually use both, they both have their positives and negatives and although Direct TV is MUCH more expensive their DVR can record two TV shows and STILL watch another show. The Dish Network DVR can record two shows but DOES NOT let you watch live TV... that's LAME and really that's why I got a DVR, once my 'contract' is up with Dish, I am switching to Direct TV....

Dish network is horrible. I take down so many dish network dishes when I'm putting up a DirecTv dish. And once the customer gets ahold of the remote(especially when it's raining after the install) they love it.

This hardware comparison isn't telling the entire truth. On DirecTV: 1) You can scroll by page (6 lines) instead of just line by line 2) You can skip 12 hours into the future at a time. 3) Dish counts part time and On Demand HD channels as HD Channels. Last I checked, people want the channels they watch most of the time to be HD full time.
There is no real winner. Sometimes one is better than the other in pricing, channels, and HD. Just choose one you like best. (btw, I like Direct TV, because it works best for me)
Well, my grandmother has directive and I have dish, and I prefer dish's interface, recording space, and variety. Customer service is excellent. When I go to my grandmothers, directv is ok, but I still prefer dish. I switched from directv to dish two years ago, and I was against it. Now, I love dish.
As a matter of fact, the newest DirecTv recievers Home Media Center HD DVR and TiVo HD DVR are more new than Dish Network's discontinued VIP922 Slingloaded DVR although the VIP922 Slingloaded DVR beats both of those recievers as it works better and works faster. For the most advanced, the new Hopper Whole Home HD DVR beats all 3 recievers.
ATTENTION they do NOT mention any of the good parts of directv like maybe for HD instead of 1 sattlite for HD you need 2 how is that technology i have also noticed that dish has gone out in storms BEFORE directv a few years ago i had it there was just a normal drizzle it went OUT [came back 2 min later] and after all that some of there HD channels are not even in HD half the time so any way im running out of characters so please be aware of ur watching a vid of all the highpointsofdish u can
Notice how when DirecTV is scrolling throuh the guide, it stops every few seconds? Dish is doing that, plus DirecTV scrolls at a medium speed, while Dish you scroll so fast you have to go back a couple of times. They didn't even list cons about Dish and pros about DirecTV. It's also made by Dish Network. Fucking braggers...
AMC was drop because AMC networks was charging more for there channels. It was like when Brighthouse, and Time warner was going to drop Viacom channels for that reason.
Nope. Dish Network and its Hopper are a whole lot better. All Hoppers, except Hopper Duo & Wally, have 2 Terabytes. In 2013, Hopper was rereleased with Sling & WiFi built in. Later in 2016, Hopper 3 with Sling was released, supports 4K, & can let you record up to 16 shows at the same. Just switch to Dish Network, choose DishLatino Dos as your package, & get its Hopper 3 Smart HD DVR. It’s cheaper than DIRECTV’s MÁS ULTRA package.
Yes. But sadly back in 2018, my parents cancelled Dish Network/DishLatino because they no longer want to pay for it. I hope my parents switch back to Dish Network/DishLatino someday. If they do, here’s what I recommend them to get: DishLatino Dos package, the Hopper 3 & some Standard Joeys, & the no contract/sin contrato option.
I hate how fanboys get on youtube and argue back and forth about which dick in the ass is better, I mean they both probably screw you, Directv takes channels from my package and then after I wait an hour on the phone to find out why they tell me I have to upgrade to another package to get them back. Good ole "Service is subject to change". I don't get it, why defend a company that cheats you out of money? I haven't tried dish but right now they seem like the lesser of two evils
not even 25 channels, viacom double counted the HD and standard viacom channels and its not lost it, its called temporarily offline we will be getting it back by midnight. Like dtv said that are successful 99% in disputes like this with viacom. Adleast dtv still have AMC, now thats lost for dish network, now what! and more subscribers, now what!

I beg to differ, Dish did not get "pwned". Comparing Dish and high speed internet is like comparing apples and hubcaps. Totally different. Age a few years and then come back when you pay for your own TV, not your mommy and daddy.
I have Dish and I don't have Pic in Pic.. This is the first time I've seen this. And I don't have the 4 DVR recording. I just have 2.. When and where did this come out? This must be with the new DVR or something. Or New Dish. I don't have any of this stuff.

I had Directv before and we hated every moment of it. My mom called them up one time because they were charges more then they should have and they disconnected from her. My mom got so mad. Now my mom says as long as isn't Directv she good
Not sure which one rules and which one suck... I tried to flip the coin to find out, but I kept scratching my head between Dish and Directv. Now I don't know what to think. But look, I want the best quality HD, the best service, lot less problem and no signal loss during a storm at all. Which one everyone? Which one?
I have DirecTV (used to have Dish, actually), and it's shocking how many things they misrepresented here. You can watch two games at the same time with Dish...but you can watch SIX at the same time with DTV's SportsMix. Can't scroll forward with DTV? Yes you can...use the green and red buttons to go +/-12 hours. DTV also has an app that allows you to control your DVR *AND* a new guide that's faster and looks better than Dish's. DTV also has MUCH better service than Dish! This video is hilarious.

Dish will do anything to try and make people think there better , but never will they be. Directv is FAR better then dish. I honestly don't think iv ever herd something GOOD about dish .
Directv is crappy right now. My HR23 box is sooooo slow and sluggish it is ridiculous. Last week I simply pushed the 5 button to go to that channel and I swear to you it took at least 45 seconds to tune to that channel. I was left sitting there staring at a black screen.
you must live out away from a major city or got very unlucky and had a contractor do your dish work. and Dish has the same ability to do full page scrolling. The only thing Directv is good for is NFL sunday ticket other then that has no edge on Dish
the speed of the DishN equipment doesnt compare, i paid to get out of a DTV contract after going thru 3 DVRs in 9 months. Dish wins, and someone said cable??? thats soooo 1985
Because of this features Dish Network has the biggest churn numbers in the industry. Im an authorized dealer for Directv and Dish, I've been a technician for both for over 6 years now and yes Dish Network gives you more channels for a lower price but also gives you more headaches. At the end the price difference is not much (maybe 15 bucks). So, if you are cheap by all means go for Dish, now if you want a clearer picture and less trouble then buy Directv, you wont regret it.
Try to even come close to our international packages! i work for dish.. but when im doing a new connect i play with the customers directv or comcast to get an idea of well basically how to tell em dish is better!
