I think they dark footage problem (i have had it too sometimes) is due to alt tapping out of the game. Could be wrong but they officially advice against it at this point ;)

733Rafael Except killing the population caused more weepers to exist and for the plague to advance due to more rats being able to eat and reproduce. It also caused the people to act more cruel and would make citizens attempt to escape while they could be holding the plague.

The problem with going all out in Dishonored (the first game at least, but it seems to be the same here) is that just playing the game as a brawler makes it ridiculously easy, and also much much shorter, as you're basically just running through the game, which makes it appearent that even if you can play it as a brawler, that's not at all the intention, and not what it's designed around.

hmm didn't really know that i was holding off on getting this game due to the horrendous optimization on pc but i well keep they in mind when i eventually get it

+Lasergurka I played may first run off the original, stealthy and non lethal... Really enjoyed it, and it took my so long. The second playthrough was full on chaos. Still enjoyed it, but you're right, it makes it loads shorter and a lot easier.

Thanks, I review every game on fun value, if I have fun then it's worth buying, I think that is why people watch my videos, no bullshit, no gimmicks it's just all about the fun. There are too many tech heads reviewing games nowadays and not enough gamers doing it.

I played in D1 both. 1 playthow i killed everybody and in the other with stealth. I will do here the same. Stealth isnt so easy after some time. Because there new enemys with more and new power against youres

Yup agreed. They even added more non-lethal takedowns (ie, if someone spots you, you can block their sword then choke 'em out) .. but its still perfectly viable to take the 'stab all' approach

In Dishonored 1 I avoided much of the killing due to the low chaos reward. However that wasn't much fun. Perhaps best thing is to follow the advise of this reviewer and just play like you want instead of what is recommended.

James Salvatore In fact this and Deus Ex offer the players the choice on what their playstyle like it. More games they should take example from these.

Also, there is no "proper" way to play this game. The good thing about Dishonored is that you can perfectly play as a sadistic murdering prick or as a ghost ninja and both paths are totally valid. It works both for the people who like the type of stealth Dishonored 2 offers and for those who want to experiment with different ways of clearing a map infested with enemies and stuff to kill them with.

Worth A Buy Hello Mack Just wondered how you think 2016 has turned out? I personally thought it was one of the worst years in gaming for a long time but we've had a flurry of decent games, especially as far as single player FPS's go, We've had Battlefield 1 (I thought it was gonna be shit but it had a great single player, bit short, and the multiplayer was pretty good) Titanfall 2 (again, thought I'd hate it but the single player was fucking amazing) and now this. I know we've still got a few months but I think these 3 games alone have salvaged it, what do you think?

It's a terribly boring gameplay mechanic and one that no one has remedied by having enemies who could potentially counter it or block it, or make it less reliable. Part of the fun of stealth is getting caught and potentially having to go loud or escape. Same thing with all the bone charm bullshit. The game has pop-up (in the middle of your fucking screen) text that lets you know "A BONE CHARM OR RUNE IS NEARBY." How is that fun?

Ya maybe x-ray visions wouldn't be so bad if there were rooms made out of lead of something that you couldn't see through. I can also see it being ok as one of those old school powerups that you pick up and it would work for 15 seconds like amplify dmg or cloak or whatever.

Lore or narrative context is not a valid justification for having x-ray vision. Games like Halo never had x-ray vision (until Halo 4) even though the game takes place 500 years in the future. Just because Dishonoured has magic doesn't mean it should, or can be excused, for having x-ray vision and by your logic, magic has no limits. The developers could have us walking through buildings or flying like Superman if they wanted to under the banner of having "magic" but it would radically change the gameplay. So no, "magic" does not magically make x-ray vision acceptable. Approach it from a gameplay perspective and not a narrative one. Does x-ray vision fit in with other elements of the game mechanics into a comprehensive experience? Don't bring in Mafia 3 because of its context/setting. Approach it according to its gameplay and the needs of its sandbox.

Mack: So what would you class as "Called for"? Just because you seem to despise it pretty much 100% of the time, which is fine, I'm just curious. Aname and Onyxia: Are we talking block as in the jammer thugs from the Arkham series? The ones which made Batman's detective vision useless? Also there are restrictions on the X ray vision in Dishonored, perhaps not as many as you'd like but there are, it takes energy to do and only lasts a certain amount of time. Also, I disagree with youabout the heart really, I feel as if given how open ended the levels are people wouldn't find as many of them if there wasn't something that helped you look, it's just too big of an environment. Sure it could be more vague about where they are but I would at least like a hint, for me personally as a player. Like I have a bigger problem with X Ray vision when there is literally no cause for it to be there in the lore, which is why I brought up Mafia III, but in fact the better example is the Last of Us. Mafia III even had the tiniest bit of context even if I think it was fucking stupid. The Last of Us is basically "He can see through walls, deal with it." Hence things like Dishonored bother me less. Same question to you though, what makes x ray vision fit in with the mechanics, because even Mack thinks it does somehow.

I got to admit, I have never seen a more diverse and creative way to kill your targets in a game like Dishonored before :)) I played high chaos, so I killed almost all my targets as Corvo/Daud. But the Neutralize - "Accidents" :D way of doing thing, was sometimes, more vicious too; as I saw on other play-styles. So thumbs up for the comment from me ;)

X-ray vision ruins those "oh shit" moments when someone or something walk around the corner to ruin your day, it allows u to know exactly where everyone is located which for me ruins games.

yea i was wondering if u suddenly tested the game on your old card to see how low end rigs perform

he is running the game at a solid 60fps with a 1070, an I7 6700K & 32gb of ram. Some other people can't hit 30fps with that same set up due to some issue. so don't expect an old rig to run the game, to my opinion, a 250 bucks ps4 running the game at constant 60fps without any issue is much better than a 1500bucks gaming warmachine not able to get the game working properly.. :/

user 14555 ps4 does it at like 25fps so if you like the cinematic experience that’s your platform

No unfortunately you have misinterprated his comment. He "bashes" the way the console is controlled i.e. gamepad, which is not as precise and not as versatile as a keyboard and mouse. Therefore it would be much harder to play the game on any difficulty, let alone easy. As a side note he may be referencing the fact that most console players are of a younger age than PC players and therefore do not have the same skill or hand to eye coordination to play on the "hard" difficulty or have the patience to put up with the amount of times they would die, subsequently "bashing" console players not consoles themselves. You need to read the subtext and take into consideration the context of his remark. P.S. This is coming from a Console and PC gamer and I personally see a massive skill gap between the two demographics. Consoles are more useful if I want to sit back on the sofa and have a game with my wife or if I want to chill out after work or before I eat as the timeframe I have is limited and I just want a short session that is simple and fun, my PC is for when I'm looking for more of a challenge (Counter-Strike) or if i wanted to play a game like Skyrim where mods make the game playable. Overall the PC provides a more engaging experience than a console and allows you a better way of playing the game if you are willing to play a game for the challenge or if you want to admire the full graphical potential of a game like Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, Grand Theft Auto V, Crysis 3 or The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

he plays the game at 75% dynamic resolution.... of course he has no pb... in practice with a i5 / 1070 you got fps drop outside on large vistas... (when you are at 100% dyn resolution)

Knife Guy Gamer it's just broken optimization. I know graphics settings and have been pc gaming for 15 years. I've tried every single combination of resolution and settings. I can't even maintain 60 fps in Karnaca in 800x600 with an i5 4690k, a gtx 1070, and 16 gigs of ram. That's a broken game.
