Hello Rohan, I'm a self-taught VFX artist myself, but my domain is primarily AE and blender. But I saw this full video as I aspire to work in Houdini someday. Great tutorial sir. Really clear with all the steps. I truly hope the RU-vid algorithm distributes this video. We really need more quality Houdini videos like this. Cheers to your effort sir, can't wait for more !
Inset FYI... The inset was not functioning due to tick box below, above the Normals Add Vertex. As you stated, the amount to so small, that errors begin showing up, shooting lines away from the model. At least it did with "the rhino" which is what I was using.
My mask did not appear at first. At around 3:31 I had to toggle the mask visualizer from the parameters of the maskfromgeometry node. So on the parameters of the maskfromgeometry node is a parameter called output mask. At the very end is a graphic that is round on top and a point on bottom, if you hover above it there is a tooltip that says "toggle visualization". click that and yor mask should be visualized.

Both those are for absolute beginners. After that I can recommend the rocket bus training on my website. That is a beginner to intermediate level project aimed at people with basic knowledge of Houdini.
hello. im sorry; i dont see the red mask when i use mask from geo node. help? (i see the spreadsheet change values under "mask" tho, so i know its working)
