Hey girlie, I just wanted to send you some encouragement. I was in your position Dec 2020, dismissed from an accelerated nursing program after attending the school for a whole year. I felt like I was sinking in the school and not even the faculty was helping out. I want you to know that this is only a season in your life and with diligence and perseverance you can get on the other side. I just graduated this January with my BSN from WGU and am registered to sit for the NCLEX. I just want to give you a virtual hug and tell you that it’s not over, you’re still in the race. Don’t let this one disappointment deter you from the bigger goal. I pray for peace of mind for you and favor while you look for your jobs. PLEASE don’t relent in your efforts!!!❤🫂

My nieces mother was told by a professor that she should become a CNA due to her accent. She is now a Nurse Practitioner. I know it still bothers her because during a family gathering she brought it up. I informed her to search where this professor now works and pay her a visit at work along with her white coat and her name with her title as nurse practitioner. That’ll show her.🥳🥳

It happens to the best of us. I started nursing school in 2012. I took fundamentals and missed two points to pass the course. I repeated the course and passed. In my program students are only allowed to repeat a nursing course only once. I went on to med Surg and initially I passed. The grading system changed and I missed half a point to pass the class. I was dismissed in 2015. I was so depressed, school was hell for me because my classmates literally picked on me to the point where I had to have a hearing all through nursing school. I was determined to be readmitted until I found out that my school closed due to financial issues. Another local college took over and took in all of the nursing students to complete their degree so I tried getting readmitted through that school. It took me 6 years to go back to school. While I was able to save up some money, I was still depressed because I wanted to finish the first time around and I felt like time was wasted. I just graduated in May with honors. I know more than what I did before. I went to therapy but I never took any depression medication. I know for a fact that God helped me make it through. If it’s truly what you want to do then don’t give up. While waiting to be readmitted I worked in a hospital as a cna and I got some experience which also helped me in school. Try another school if you have to. I had to take all my nursing courses again. I was devastated because I was dismissed with a 3.0 and now I finally graduated 6 years later with a 3.6 gpa. I hope this helps you.

God works in very mysterious ways that sometimes we don’t understand. I was dismissed from an accelerated BSN program back in 2020. I was devastated, felt awful. Looked for another school and just graduated last month! Don’t give up girl this is just a bump down your nursing journey, everything will work out ❤

Nursing school can be ridiculously tough especially when professors are unreasonable graders. I had a few classmates like you who failed due to missing 0.1 points. Would definitely recommend reevaluating your career goals and see which one may be a better fit. If that means going back to nursing school then at least now you have a better idea of what you’re stepping into again. Best of luck!

Hi 🥺 I got suggested your video and I just wanted to come on here and say something I’ve had to learn this year. I got diagnosed with a chronic illness and ended up losing my job at the same time I found out about my illness. Although I’m really bummed and don’t know where to go from here, I have a son I need to support and have no idea what to study in it’s been hard just getting a different temporary job. But my advice is this: enjoy this pause in your life because there’s beauty in the struggle. I get to concentrate on bettering my health and spending more time with my little one. My second peace of advice is to not worry. Life has a funny way of working out and it will take you exactly where you need to be. Sending hugs and lots of love. You’ve got this!

This comment made my week!! I honestly haven't even thought about that ,but i absolutely love how you turned a bad situation into such a positive and saw the good things that came from it. I do tend to worry about what is next and how I will move on from this and what to do next. Slowly but surely I am figuring out my next steps. Right now I have a job lined up for next month and in the next few months I will hear from the schools I have applied to see if I'v been accepted into a new program! I appreciate the hugs

Life is full of ups and downs. Don’t give up. Keep pushing. Stay focused and keep your eyes on the prize. If you want to be a nurse, you will be one day. Keep your priorities straight and keep your head up. Some of the best things in life require very hard work and dedication - so keep going, love. Dust yourself off and try again. You can and you will do it.

I think that is why it still bugs me to this day until the day I graduate because it was such a small percent I was hoping she could give me a chance especially since I had her as a professors in the past. Im so glad your friend didnt let her frustration keep her from accomplishing her dream. Its hard to stay positive when you feel at your worse. I am so ready to get back in the game and FINALLY get my degree lol :)

I’m sorry. You need to stop thinking about that one question that put you over and instead think about why you were on the threshold to begin with. You’ve been dismissed from two programs because of grades, that means you need to figure out what you did wrong and what you can do better or maybe you need to choose a different career. There are many programs your prereqs will apply to: sonography, rad tech, dental hygiene, respirate therapist, physical therapist assistant. Good luck. Don’t cry anymore or beat yourself up. It’s just something that happened and you can choose what happens next.

Hi, i was just suggested your video and honestly I can’t relate to your situation but i can relate to being sad, lonely, empty, and lost at this moment in life. Listening to you makes me feel a little better even if that wasn’t your intention maybe. But you’re not alone in the struggle of life. I feel so lost.. im 26.. no clue what i wanna do or where to go… my dog is super sick and im using every penny to help her. Just so lost. So thanks for opening up about your struggles. You’re not alone even if we can’t relate on the same situation.

You made my day! I was hoping to reach at least to someone who might relate to the situation at least in the slightest bit. I'm 28 so I completely understand how you feel about not knowing what to do in life or if you should be doing something different. I am very sorry about your doggie...I've lost 2 dogs in the past year & it is the hardest to get through ,but I promise you it gets better. Hang in there....this is just another bump in the road that we will surpass

Hi, I just wanted to let you know that I was just there in the same situation as you in 2022 at Chamberlain University because I failed two classes. I ended up appealing and getting back in. I had to sit out two sessions until those courses were offered again but ultimately I got back in! I was so surprised and excited that they allowed me to start off where I left off! If everything goes well, I’ll be finished this April and graduating this May! I know people that got dismissed twice, appealed and got back in twice. Don’t give up! If it’s really your dream to become a nurse then keep pushing for it. I had a lot of personal stuff going on too and just couldn’t stay on top of things. Even though I was devastated, I actually needed that break. I was so clear headed and so much better when I started back. Keep pushing and don’t give up! Try to appeal to get back in where you left off at. It will be so worth it! In my appeal letter, I just admitted to fault, took responsibility, and held myself accountable and they let me back in. Just give it a try. All they can do is say no, then you can try somewhere else. Good luck!

Its so refreshing to hear from someone who has been in the same situation as me. I have been thinking the past few days about what you said about appealing and even though I have appealed before I guess it wouldn't hurt to reach out to the dean and explain the situation because like you said the worse they can say is no. I think I'll reach out since I still have a few months until the other programs begin their semester anyways. Thanks for sharing your story

I recently retired as a BSN after 40 years in healthcare. If I knew then what I know now, I would have gone into HR. Nursing will completely burn you out, take everything in you, then spit you out because you are expendable like chux or a 2x2. During COVID when we were 50% staffed for months, daily worked extra hours, overtime not authorized, maintained high quality care while leadership arrived and left on time and went on their conferences. Even TJC was postponed, but that's so easy it's pathetic.
@user-ys7jp4bv3q
@user-ys7jp4bv3q Месяц назад
I most certainly can agree with your persevering. I attempted to return to school on my own, and failed horribly. I paid two courses and could not get the tutoring help I needed to be successful. So, after a loss of a month's rent payment I withdrew and said nooo will not EVER put myself in this situation again. Two years and a transfer later I have maintained a good GPA and will soon be graduating. If it wasn't for the second chance to find a better experience I would still be squandering away money I couldn't nearly afford to. It's enough to focus on your classes alone without the added stressor of the cost for living and how will you survive the semester? I am truly blessed to find such an opportunity and wish you the best of luck. No one deserves to be placed on a scale and left there because there aren't any equalizers. Good luck

There are so many wonderful careers and occupations in healthcare that have programs that are not necessarily easier than nursing school, but less ridged that are just as important and rewarding. There’s Occupational Health, Speech therapy, social work, psychology etc. Maybe think about switching majors, but don’t give up on taking care of people, bc you seem like you will good at it.

❤ hugs* I've never been in your situation, but I know how it feels to take 1 step forward and 2 steps back. Been trying to be a nurse for 20 years now! Many things have happened to me within those 20 years and now I am in nursing school with 1.5 semesters to go! What I want to tell you is that, there is a the right time for everything. School will always be there. The more you live life, the more experiences you can bring to the table while pursuing nursing. I whole heartedly believe that if I had gotten into a program 20 yrs ago, my life around me would've suffered (kids, husband, maybe homeless) it's definitely not easy even still, but it's manageable once I decided that everything around me will be 2nd place and I am 1st for once! Hang in there, the right time will come! If you keep thinking about it, it will be yours as it's meant to be ❤

Hey girlie, I understand what you're saying. Know for a fact that you did your best, and remember that the world hasn't come to an end. You are still young and capable of achieving anything you set your mind to, whether it’s becoming a doctor, nurse, or something else entirely. Don’t let what happened at nursing school get to you. Get up, dust yourself off, and apply to more nursing schools if that’s your passion. Start fresh and always learn from what led to your dismissal. Also, remember to pray-God works in miraculous ways. Keep your faith strong, and know that better days are ahead.

I can't imagine dismissing you. You can get in and see about a CNA class and work. You are not a failure. I failed microbiology by about the same amount, and he did not round up. If they ask, be honest and tell them your issues and struggles. If you can get a therapist, get one. Nursing school is stressful, and if asked, you can say I am in therapy and working on my issues, working out a different study method. When you do that, you own up to your grade, your matters, and how you are changing your study habits. Index cards are great. You are not alone, and you can finish. Just go in positive and reflect on what happened and how you are going to change your study habits and deal with issues along the way. I just feel like that should have been rounded up.

I just got dismissed in my last semester for failing by 3/4 of a point litteraly a week ago. I have those same feelings of anger tried to talk to professors to get back into the school and repeat since I failed one class 2 years ago and was doing so well and now 3 weeks before I’m suppose to graduate I feel beyond stuck. It’s legit a battle everyday one minute your fine and the next your crying. I’m in therapy and have been for some years it’s helpful but nothing takes this away. I was even told to switch careers and I’ve been a student patient care tech for almost 10 years. But we can’t give up one door closed and many may still close on us because of our dismissal but one will eventually open sending hugs and love because this is truly one of the most devastating things and no one who is not or has ever been in a program will ever get it !
