Instagram - AdamTheWooATW I had to get back and attend the anniversary of the place that used to be my favorite place ever . Such fond memories of the original mgm studios . I know not every day can be a throwback or have nods to the original place but I was hoping on a big anniversary it would have had more to feature the original concept . This was still a fun day but could have been much better.
I also have a lot of fond memories at MGM Studios from year 1 and current memories with my son at Hollywood Studios. That park will always have a special place.
Thanks Adam for your dedication to Walt Disney World and being there for the 35th Walt Disney MGM Studios Anniversary. It's so cool you are friends with for many those who love Disney World and do Video Blogs too. I thought it was nice touch you paying homage to Tom from WDNT Disney fame who's been doing detailed Disney News for many years and keeps fans up to date on all the Disney Parks and even Universal too. Today is May the 4th Be With you Day and so many love too. Thanks again Adam also enjoyed your trip west and the Warner Brothers tour and Field of Dreams with you Mom was awesome too. Mark From Indiana...where Spring has green things up Big Time!
It was so cool getting to meet you! My family and I watch you all the time. My wife pointed you out and our whole family was extremely excited! Thanks again!
I remember the opening year - one of my favorite pictures of my mother is standing next to one of the antique cars. She had a pair of Jean long shorts- a white t shirt with the sleeves rolled- she looked so cool and MGM was so cool. What a place - the back stage- the muppets- the great movie ride- the main street actors - we loved it.
Hey there Adam fantastic video, tour and more of the 35th anniversary of Disney-MGM/Hollywood Studios-FL.Great content and the very best time..Enjoy on..
Thankyou for another awesome vlog Adam. Hollywood studios used to be my favorite disney park as well. As one comment mentioned, it hasn’t been the same ever since they took away great movie ride and i was 14 when i rode it for the last day of operation. I grew up with mgm studios, the osborne lights, lights motor action, backlot tour, honey i shrunk the kids, and of course the great movie ride. Now that im older i appreciate the older movies that were featured in that ride, with some being my all time favorites as of now, and it makes me miss the ride even more. I mainly go to this park with my nostalgia lens on and just reminisce on what used to be. It’s a shame that now the park is just mainly Star Wars/mickey mouse/toy story in my eyes now, but the memories i had back then still resonate with me everytime i go here. I’m rambling but god i miss the old Hollywood studios. Awesome vlog as always Adam
Ah yes… Disney-MGM Studios! I was working there in 1989 before Sunset Blvd., before ToT, before Star Tours, and when Superstar Television and The Monster Sound Show and the Backlot Tour were the big attractions! Yep, I was cooking hot dogs on a wagon and baking pizza in the Soundstage Restaurant. Wow, those were the days… Good times…
80s Greg keepin' it both real and real old school! Can I ask, @GregsGameRoom - was 'hospitality' the industry you wanted to work in back in the late 80s, or was it just a job, a means to an end? I wonder, had you decided to stay in the bubble, if there would have been opportunity to advance, or try different/lateral positions where you could've grown with them, like those employees recognized at the Muppet honorarium? Sorry to hijack your vlog, Mr. The Woo! ❤✌🌮
It was my first park, and it will slways be my favorite park, then, now, and forever!!! Two of those Cast Members honored are good friends of mine and that theater is my home!!
Yep, Tim is correct, Indy was an "opening" day attraction. The guy with the white beard in the white shirt standing at the middle of the stage is Kevin Brassard, one of our original (and my favorite) Indys!!
I always think about Michael Eisner when I stay at Saratoga springs. I had stayed one time at the Disney institute-it was a good stay. I was all in with Michael Eisner.
Gotta say I've been to both versions of Hollywood Studios. I was there in the 90's when they were animating the Lion King, i was there in 2015 before the Great Movie Ride left, and I've just been in 2023 with all the new additions ie. Star Wars, Toy Story, and Mickey Runaway Railway
Thank you for the video Adam! My son is a Cast Member at Hollywood. He was working at Muppet’s 3D yesterday, he said the A/C was out. He sent me pictures of the gifts he got for the 35th Anniversay. He also got the Mickey Sorcerer pin.
How I love and adore that place. At one time it had everything that I ever loved on a pop culture level. It'll never be the same but if you look around you can still find some magic there! Hopefully the 40th will bring out a bigger celebration.
I remember the hay day in the mid 90’s, despite being a young child, I will always cherish the true personality of the park. It’s still fun now! But man…
Don G. In the white hat has been with Disney for 40 years, and MGM/Studios since day one! Don is in our area in theatre district! He is a legend, and we are very proud of him!!!! Woohooo! Go Don!!!!
Eisner...even at his worst...is FAR better than the pos Iger. Eisner at least in the end, wasn't looking to destroy the entire company and Walt's legacy.
I saw a sweaty man in a tank top running back-and-forth while trying to get people to do the wave. I don't believe what I've just witnessed is what i remember to be Disney Magic.
Hollywood Tower hotel works just fine for me as a park icon, the Chinese theater could also work but I prefer the tower, the sorcerer hat/pin shop was not and should never have been considered the park icon.I love the old Hollywood theme of Hollywood /MGM Studios but the park is just not the same as it used to be,Galaxys Edge and Toy Story land are worthwhile lands but they just don't fit into the original theme,I would love to see the park expand as it's too small and instead of just putting random IPs add on to it with more Old Hollywood/studio theme and a new version of the Great Movie Ride.
Awe....you missed the 35th Anniversary pressed pennies for your collection...saw them on another vlog, and I thought, Adam will jump on those for his collection book!
@@TheDailyWoo The machine he found was kind of hidden... he said if he hadn't been walking by, he would have missed them (Retro Rest Stop) ... kind of like the ones you found that time that were behind something.
I could skip Hollywood Studios at this point, save money, and enjoy the other 3 parks. Star Wars took over half of HS. 👎 If you're not a fan, it's even less exciting now. The only good rides left are Tower of Terror and Slinky Dog Dash. I haven't been on the fairly new Mickey and Minnie ride, but watched it on RU-vid. That was enough. The Great Movie Ride was the BEST. I loved the Aerosmith Rock N Roller Coaster, but that's closed too. I don't know if they're updating it, or making a completely different ride. It was a GREAT park when it was MGM. I'm grateful to have experienced it several times back then. It's sad that today's kids will never experience it.
Yes MGM Studios used to be my favorite too and then they changed so much of it and now my favorite is EPCOT. I really miss the Great Movie Ride and the Osborne Lights at Christmas.
Before the official Grand Opening of Disney's MGM Studio, it was open for previews to WDW hotel guests. We were there at that time and have a picture of my then 8y/o daughter with Michael Eisner. It was such a fun time though today it's my least favorite Theme Park At WDW. #1 - Epcot, #2 - MK, #3 - Animal Kingdom, #4 - DHS.
Never got to go to park in its early days. However we did get to enjoy streets of america, the stunt show, back lot tour, indie when they took volunteers, honey I shrunk the kids play area and the drawing classes.(my fav) After our recent trip love some of the changes but still feel somethings missing. 🤩😪
I was there yesterday at the "kinda boring" 35th celebration. The very short ceremony felt like it was put together at last minute. I was hoping for a montage of DHS history. At least we sorta got a montage on here🤣
Adam, I am so sorry but I won’t be able to go to the Rays Pirates game at PNC park in June. Late last night my surgeon wants to do surgery & keep me for 2 weeks. It’s on June 23rd. I work on June 21-22nd. Then I’m moving back home. That’s Staten Island NY. As you know i am a Rays fan.
@@MichaelRei99 that’s what my family said for years. When I was a child j grew up there. My family knows to each their own. Most of my family are Steelers fans. My childhood best friend is & her husband too. I’ve been wanting to return since my late mom died which will be 5 years tomorrow.
17:12 - I was certain we were going to get a classic Tim, hard cut away in the middle of him talking. 😎 Glad you made it back for today's anniversary. Cheers.
35 years wow and I am 27 years old and never even been to Hollywood Studios but always wanted to that was very cool seeing the Muppets live thank you Adam for showing that loved Kermit the best he was my favorite.
Is it boring? I didn’t hear you said it in the video. It looks more like a company party and the guest is just an outsider looking in. I didn’t even know the honored people in the opening ceremony. The Muppets is mishandled in the park. Overall, totally disjointed event. No real acknowledgement about what the park is. Funny there’s no events into the evening like fireworks.
Personally, I would have taken a few days in DC. So you were getting finicky and stressed out about not being at a Disney park for an anniversary? The way you were talking in yesterday's video, you made it sound like it was very urgent that you got home.
Hi Adam. Indiana was the name of the Dog. Indy's real name is Henry Jones Jr. Indy's middle name was never mentioned in the movies, and probably not mentioned in the books from the movies or the series of books back in the '90's.
When Hollywood Studios opens at 9AM the Early Entry for Disney hotels guests is officially 830 AM. However when I stayed on Disney property in February we were let in around 8 AM due to the lines for Rise of the Resistance and a few other rides. So I was already on Rise before 830 AM the official Entry time.
