I will not travel without travel insurance ever again. Myself and my wife were on a Royal Caribbean cruise to the southern Caribbean. I got a kidney stone lodged in my kidney very painful! Then my wife came down with Covid 😩. I was put off in Aruba (Covid free) and treated, had to give the hospital $10,000 to leave! Thank goodness my credit card could handle it. Then, I came down with Covid and had to quarantine for 5 days! The travel insurance paid my hotel bill and reimbursed the medical bill that my health insurance wouldn’t cover.
Oh dang! That’s insane! And we’re so glad to hear your insurance helped with all of that! Those are the kinds of things that can be devastating. Good reason to have that extra level of peace when traveling, even when the worst happens.

Disneys insurance covers any medical issues that arise while on your cruise. Thankfully, our regular medical insurance will reimburse us for anything that happens while we are traveling, but the emergency evacuation coverage is what makes it worth it for us!
We finally started buying an annual travel insurance plan through a third party company because we travel so much. We also use our Chase Sapphire Reserve card for the additional benefits of travel coverage. Even with a young healthy family we wouldn’t travel without insurance. I’m not a risk taker. 🤣😂
Thanks for adding in the annual plan! We looked into that a while back, but we feel the travel insurance and benefits from the Reserve card are enough for what we need. Well, there are risks worth taking, and then there are risks that are… not the best 😂

We always have travel insurance. Have used the Disney Cruise Line insurance a couple of times but have recently gone to an Allianz annual plan because we are traveling frequently and it is much cheaper than individual Disney Cruise Line coverage.

They worked fine 😊 we talked about it more on our Disney Wish review video. Generally, we felt they were fun to have, but not essential. If you already have them, we would definitely recommend bringing them on board. But if you don’t have them, or don’t plan on using them in the parks, not really necessary.
I’m wondering about the Disney cruise insurance. We will be cruising September and it’s hurricane season, would Disney cancel the cruise and refund us or will it still sail is there’s a hurricane happening.
Typically, Disney won’t cancel a cruise over hurricane, unless it’s gonna be affecting the port, it is sailing out from. Usually there’s a hurricane somewhere in the area, they’ll still go, but they will sail around it and sometimes change depending on what’s available. During hurricane season, it’s still a good idea to get insurance, but there are other cheaper alternatives other than Disney as well! Allianz, insurance through a credit card… just do your research. Disney may not be the cheapest, but it is definitely the easiest option.
