Excellent video which deserves a lot more views. No self obsessed vlogger constantly filming themselves and not filming the actual ship and excursions. Nice to actually see the food rather than just the vlogger’s face eating the food. We’re on the Dream at the end of August and your video is making us count the days!
I watch a lot of cruise ship videos, and this is my favorite. I seriously can’t count how many times I’ve watched this particular one, and I’m not stopping. Lol
I remember going on the dream a year before this and I just say, you were quite lucky. I was supposed to go on this voyage but because of circumstances, I couldn’t. Thank you for showing us the cruise you had! It wasn’t self obsessed and about them but rather about the ship and the places. You did really good!
2:03 Hey, it's me. XD Hope you had a great cruise. It was a great week of rest for us despite the store rush on the first night. Hope to see you on another cruise.
Wonderful video! The quality is excellent and I’m amazed it was shot on an iPhone 14, which I have! None of my personal videos look like yours. We took the westbound transatlantic on the Dream a couple of months ago and have signed up for the eastbound and the Med cruise that follows it in May 2024. It’ll be our first time sailing in the Med and we’re very excited. Thanks for sharing!
I just looked at your other videos and realized we were on the 2022 EBTA with you and your family. I remember speaking with your wife once or twice while on the Cartagena excursion.
Thanks! yea there are a few settings on the iPhone 14 that allow for really nice video quality. I had to mess around with the settings. I hope you enjoy the EBTA and Med next year! b2b sailings sound so fun! You were talking to my younger sister on the Cartagena excursion 🙂. We’ve gotten mistaken a few times.
@@jjma oh boy. I’m a bit embarrassed now. My apologies. We’re so looking forward to the B2B. We did the 2022 EBTA as part of a B2B2B. Now that was something!
It’s a lot of walking. I would say each port adventure is up to 3 miles of walking. And some of it is on cobblestone roads which is not an even surface. Be prepared!
The best weather for the Med is around the end of May/ early June and so you picked perfect timing. We were in Naples in August one year, it was awful.
May was great. I would only ever do it again at the beginning of the season if I could. I would like to try the Eastern Mediterranean at some point but that is bleeding into the July timeframe.
Nice! I am very excited for you. What ports are you going to in July? These are the excursions that I did and are shown in the video, and I highly recommend all of them: Livorno - "Florence And Pisa" . Civitavecchia - "The Best of Rome" Naples - "Pompeii Half Day" The Rome day is quite long, but you get to see A LOT!
It was part of the Senses Spa, so it was off in its own area. it looks like it has a nice view, I think it protrudes out over the edge of the ship a bit.
Oh I see. Is it in the area you have to pay for a pass? We saw the nail area, the gym area, the locker rooms and the paid area from the outside not inside. Was there another area for those or was it in the pay extra area?
@@56789-m yea it’s all part of the same complex as what you saw. But I believe there are different passes you pay for for the various facilities. the gym and the locker rooms are 100% complimentary, but I think everything else is an extra charge. I don’t know the exact rates though since I didn’t sign up for it.
That excursion was quite long. the drive to Florence from Livorno is almost 2 hours. And then the drive to Pisa was also well over an hour. Majority of the time is spent in Florence walking the city while in Pisa, the leaning tower is a relatively isolated landmark (not much else to see around town). If I recall I think it was around 8-9hrs total. The port adventure did not cover any admission to go inside any of the buildings as there isn’t enough time otherwise. but I’d say for a first timer, I was more than satisfied with the items we hit, given the limited time we had. I hope this helps!
Most of the excursions were all day, 8-11 hours (Except for Pompeii which was about 4 hrs). The reason is because the ports are so far away from the actual cities, so a few hours are lost simply from transiting to and from the port. Be prepared for long port days!
@@n.k.7208 Disney does offer excursions that are slightly more kid-friendly (shorter time duration). with the exception of the Pompeii excursion, all other booked excursions in my video were adult-only. There are A LOT of port adventures offered on this sailing of all time durations. regardless which excursion you take, it’s an extremely eye-opening experience. Hope this helps!
We are taking this cruise next year, any advice on hotel stays pre-cruise or how to navigate transportation? How much cash in Euros you should take? Any information would be greatly appreciated!
How fun! I was a party of 6 so booking an Airbnb made more sense for us. With larger parties, the airbnb more spacious and less expensive than booking multiple hotel rooms. I booked relatively close to the cruise port location just so that the morning trip to the port would be less of a hassle. Most if not all places take credit card nowadays, but cash is always a good idea for emergencies. The amount of euros you bring should depend on your party size, but i generally like to keep a couple big bills and handful of small bills on hand at any time. The DCL cruise ship has an exchange on-board as well, so if you ever feel that you brought too much or too little, you can go to the Guest Services desk and exchange it. Spend at least a full day in Barcelona before getting on the cruise ship! Barcelona is a great city with plenty of things to do. Since it's not part of the cruise itinerary, you'd be missing out if you didn't check it out yourself! If it's not for sight-seeing, then at least plan it for any unforeseen circumstances. My passport was stolen upon arriving in Europe. luckily I had 2 days cushion before the cruise to get it resolved. Thank goodness it all worked out. It would not have been fun to forfeit the cruise. Hopefully this helps!!
Hi! yes! While i didn't part take in them, there were shore excursions offered. DCL changes up the 7 night itinerary slightly each year, so ports may be different. But during our trip, Palma de Mallorca was the most beach friendly of all of them, and the weather was great. I would say however that for the "core" Mediterranean ports, (Livorno, Civitavecchia, and Naples) the excursions are more catered towards food experiences and historical landmarks than beaches. I hope this helps!
that’s a good question. I think Schengen visas are accepted, but I do not think they are not accepted as a replacement to a Passport. On Disney’s website, it appears that all European itineraries require an original passport regardless of nationality.
the sea days on Disney are great! Plenty to do. I’ve never sailed outside of Disney so it’s hard for me to compare though. Any other cruise lines to try out?
I heard Royal Caribbean is fun with all the crazy slides 🛝 they have but heard the food isn’t good. Plus you gotta pay extra for a pop package since they only offer water and lemonade. Lol 🙄 I’ll be going on Disney Dream this Nov and excited bc I’m over Princess’s boring (they cater to seniors) and redundant activities. Any plans for Disney cruise in Asia? Heard the Adventure ship will be sailing out of Singapore in 2025.
I am anxiously awaiting the Singapore announcement. I’d love to give that itinerary a try. Too bad there are no port stops on the first season though 😕
