If there’s one thing I gotta say, shout-out to Purple Lamp for proving themselves to be such talented and passionate devs. Their work on the Battle for Bikini Bottom remake was solid, I REALLY enjoyed The Cosmic Shake, and this looks incredibly solid too. It’s a shame it has some performance hiccups, but the game itself, as a remake, is pretty impressive
This game is not perfect, and I respect your opinion, but I don't think that Rebrushed deserves a 5.5 out of 10. I agree with lots of the things you said, like how the 3d platforming can be repetitive, but I still love this game so much. I haven't gotten to play the remake yet, but the original is a solid 8 out of 10 for me
Idk, I enjoyed playing the second game after seeing that they were developing rebrushed(there wasn't a lot of nostalgia since i'm not even sure if I played it as a kid, or just saw it, because I didn't remember anything nor it felt familiar at all) I guess I just enjoy bad games while I can't comprehend the "masterpieces" that are super metroid or a link to the past
So for those of us that were actually around when epic Mickey came out it was more of a breath of fresh air because we only had Blinx the timesweeper to compare it against.
IDK, i had a lot of fun with the game back when it first released (and i was already a full grown adult at the time), and based on the demo they fixed the camera which was easily my biggest issue with the original game, so I preordered last night and am enjoying it today 🤷. Granted, i already liked the original game (which i never got to finish bc i was playing on my roommate's Wii and he moved out before i could finish the game) so it would make sense I'd like this version, but i also knew exactly what i was getting and wasn't expecting something the game never was like most of the comments! First time I've really disagreed with a NP review too! Keep up the good work though!
Not every remaster can be as labeled as “good.” Some remasters/remakes have been underwhelming. That’s why the gaming industry and greedy AAA studios needs to stop oversaturating ideas for a remaster. Sony announced a Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered for PS5 and PC and it is a slap in the face because I already own the complete edition.
No offense guys, I really mean it, but you need to hear this: your reviews of most games that are NOT visual novels are... improvable, let's say it like that. A ton of stuff does not make sense, like the nostalgia bit (you didn't play the Wii version, so what nostalgia are you talking about). Also, you are way to critical of non-VN games.
We have a review policy on our website that breaks it down. We take genre and budget into consideration when reviewing games as well, but also the writer needs to be taken into consideration. We actually aren’t the lowest score for this game, so I feel like, while we are critical, hopefully it improves future remastered releases.
Its a remake? Judge it as a remake not a stand alone title. if you want to complain about epic mickey, review the first game but this game is just a remake of the original with better quality of life, graphics and a better camera, that was all it was going to be.
I remember seeing this when it was first announced at e3 back in the day I almost wanted a wii to play it but now after finally playing it in ps5...naw this ain't it this game is actually kinda boring especially after I've been playing Astro Bot.
Very interesting to see NP on the far lower side of the game’s reception. Alot of the complaints here were prevalent in the Wii release and definitely had the same range of perspectives back then too.
I think that’s due to Bailey never really playing the original so his complaints mirrored those who have some nostalgia with it. Nostalgia can mess with us. I’ve also succumbed to the feeling :( - Azario
I played this back on the Wii and over all liked it and it’s art style, but there was something about the game that tired me out after a while unlike other games. I honestly think Mickey world of illusion and then castle of illusion are much better games that should get a port. Mickey Mania has its issues but is still a pretty cool game for its time. I definitely didn’t mind the difficulty as a kid because I was always excited to get further and see what was next. There was no such thing as RU-vid then so getting to the next level was always exciting.
Just say platformer games isnt your favorite gaming genre, like you criticized the game for its platforming being "uninspired", like what else did you f*cking expect form a game like this? And the platforming levels isnt as bad as you say it is. And you said the paint brush, the MAIN point of this game's gameplay, feels repetitive? Yeah this reveiw f*cking blows. One more issue i have about this reveiw is the fact that he didnt say how the game can be improved upon. What it did right and wrong, and things he would have liked. Alot of the negative reveiws just dont describe how the media would have been better, which further proves the point theyre just straight up hating it and the genre simply isnt for them. This game is objectivly great, and at least a 7/10, because if they made a remake of it, its beacause the original was successful.
Why do people always moan when either a new game comes out or a remastered this game is fantastic and beautiful thanks devs for bringing back this classic love these type of games ignore stupid negative comments by people that don’t make games can’t make games have no talent of even making a game themselves this game is top ⭐️ ❤
im buyin this game for a friend that particularly doesnt hav good video game skills and when they do play video games, its platformers. spyro, super lucky tale, mario odyssey, etc. this is right up their alley
It’s even funnier that there were some streamers that were watching the Nintendo direct live with this reveal in it that got up from there chairs and shriek with excitement. Like…really?? I thought when this game originally released it was considered okay at best…and since when was this game even considered an “cult classic” too, lol.
Yea. Bailey nearly had the same experience as OG reviews. I was surprised too because I remember people like thinking this game was super cool - Azario
The OG game had a lot of issues that made the game divisive back in the day. Most of the fans who were waiting for this remaster wanted the remaster to improve and get rid of the issues present in the old version. Basically people like this game despite those issues. It does a lot of things that other properties don’t, which is why ppl really liked it, and it helped smooth out those huge flaws. But people want those issues addressed, it’s a case of “why remake a good game? Why not remake a game that’s got issues and make it better??”
@@HoroJogaidk man….from an outsiders perspective. Neither of the 2 epic Mickey games look like they nailed the mark on gameplay, they just had interesting concepts and graphical style that were the only redeeming factors at the time. 🤷
4:22 I heard that long pause before saying the name LOL. I get it. I for years thought the original looked cool back when I was in school and had no money to purchase games, nor owners a Wii. I downloaded the demo on PS5 and was immediately severely underwhelmed and wiped out all nostalgia from game playthroughs I had built up over 10+ yrs. Needless to say, I will not be purchasing this game at any price. It felt like a long forgotten relic of mediocrity.
