Guardians of the Galaxy is a superhero film based on the Marvel Comic of the same name.
In the far reaches of space, an American pilot named Peter Quill finds himself the object of a manhunt after stealing an orb coveted by the villainous Ronan. In order to evade Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a group of misfits including Gamora, Rocket, Drax the Destroyer, and Groot. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand -- with the galaxy's fate in the balance
The film stars Chris Pratt (LEGO Movie) as Star Lord, Zoe Saldana (Star Trek, Avatar) as Gamora, Vin Diesel (Fast and Furious) as Groot, Dave Bautista (WWE) as Drax the Destroyer, and Bradley Cooper (Alias) as Rocket Raccoon.
The cast also features Lee Pace as Ronan, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Djimon Hounsou as Korath, John C. Reilla as Rhomann Dey, Benicio del Toro as Taneleer Tivan / The Collector and Glenn Close as Nova Prime Irani Rael.
