If you changed Victoria Alonso to Victoria Beckham, I imagine it would cause a lot of confusion, and if this was my channel, I wouldn't want people calling it Despacito. It's an understandable mistake, but I wouldn't promote it as being unimportant.

The writing in Star Trek, Halo, Star Wars, Marvel, LotR, etc, etc - has been so awful that they'd have literally failed my High School Creative Writing class, the entire semester, for multiple critical failings (each one being egregious enough to fail your entire semester) - _per story._ Literally. I'm not exaggerating - I mean IN ALL SERIOUSNESS... these people would have failed my High School's introductory class for Creative Writing (restricted to age 16 and up, iirc). Multiple times, per story. TLDR; It's impossible to address those people's "professionalism" directly, and honestly, without being offensive.

As a woman, here's what I consider victorious: well-written female characters, such as those in NOS4A2, or Where the Crawdads Sing. I work in residential home construction, a field dominated by men. If there is a woman around working the only thing anyone cares about is if she can do her job i.e. the same standard men are held to. In every instance I've seen so far they can so it hasn't been a big deal. The last thing anyone (and I mean anyone) should want is unskilled diversity hires building houses. "Oops. Sorry your house blew up, but the gas line work was done by a gay Latina woman. That makes it okay, right?"

Exactly right. I work in the law and accordingly have to read briefs from the other side arguing why my position is wrong, etc. The correspondence I send out is always respectful and logically based, and what I get back is usually the same. Occasionally, though, the other side's argument will lapse into insults and invective. In those cases, I thumb to the end and yes, it is almost invariably the work of a woman. They simply cannot keep their feelings out of their work product.

And they've done with with everything they've touched, from their own legacy properties at Disney, to those they've purchased through Lucasfilm, to the entertainment brands underneath them like ESPN, etc. Disney is a cancer. And Disparu is 100% correct I think. there is this wish-casting taking place thinking we're nearing the end of the road for all of this activist entertainment, but there's no way that's true. These companies are completely invested from too to bottom with activists first and creators second. If you're hiring to meet a quota, you're automatically damaging your company. You're hiring less qualified people over people who can perform the job at a high level.

Worked with a guy who knew he had acquired a lot of checkboxes and he started doing more and more radical things on the job that would have gotten anyone else fired - driving vehicles straight at people, sleeping in the office and charging the company for the time, taking the company vehicle for his own use - and as each failed to get him fired it only egged him on more and more to outdo himself. Everyone else left because he was terrible to work with... So far as I know they never did figure out a way to fire him without getting sued.

Said management investigated her credentials and found that she had a history of short periods of employment and large compensation wins. They sacked her, of course, sending (so I understand) documentary proof of the investigation with her notice. Maybe that company should take a closer look at the man’s history, too…

Extraordinary humans X-men

Xavier ran a school for "gifted youngsters" which he ran more like a military academy. His first four X-Men were literally all young men. Marvel Girl (Jean Grey) was a late arrival. Xavier introduces them to her and details how all students at his academy were called "X-Men" because they possessed "Ex-tra powers" as compared to regular humans. So it is outdated in that sense. It's more akin to calling members of Congress "congresspeople" instead of "congressmen." But hey, if Alonso wants to trash a popular, decades-old superhero brand to fight a battle that was fought and decided 30 years ago, who am I to question her expertise?

X men sounds fine,X people or x humans just sounds weird

The producers at Marvel don't seem to think about the "survival of the fittest" all the older characters went through. Marvel has created hundreds, if not thousands, of characters over the years. A few caught on and succeeded with the audience but most didn't. There were a few break out stars and some have been relegated to A-minus-list, B-list or C-list status but most are simply forgotten. We know Captain America, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Thor etc will catch on because they've been fan favorites for decades in the comics. The new characters (like Riri Williams and America Chavez) Marvel is trying to push haven't been around long enough to say if fans truly like them. Some of the mantle swaps have already been done in the comics and failed (Shuri as Black Panther) or at best became somewhat accepted. Sam Wilson as Captain America is a reasonably popular character but when someone says "Captain America" people still automatically think of Steve Rogers. Sam Wilson is using Captain America's name but that's not the same thing as *becoming* Captain America. Right now what Marvel has on its hand are a lot of characters from the comics that simply aren't that well known or popular, known but not particularly popular (like Captain Marvel), or popular but who Disney harmed with bad storytelling. She Hulk is the prime example of that.

If you talked about movie, usually it's contract based, like the Ant Man Quantumania writer, he used to be Jimmi Kimmel's writer and plan to write Avengers: The Kang Dynasty too. The problem with Disney is they think that they are too big that anyone (writer, director, etc) can success as long as they do Disney check list in their contents, which sadly now more focus on diversity, inclusivity, LGBY, etc first (some of Disney higher up like Alonso are there because of this reason and this is their agenda), not a good story. This people follow Disney guidelines and Disney only have themself to blame.

Kennedy was one of the MANY problems for the sequels. Not really fair to blame her for the poor choices in directing, poor choices in writing, poor choices for hiring. As soon as people found out that there were 3 different directors for all 3 movies, they should have realized the movies were gonna be awful. I highly doubt Kennedy was the sole person making all these choices, pretty much every person running the show behind the scenes is to blame.

That she thinks the MCU, the highest grossing film franchise of all time, needed her to change it is ridiculous. The movies were doing just fine without focusing on diversity and representation. It speaks to her narcissism that she thought something so successful needed to be changed to suit her wants. I remember before superhero movies got popular and the only place you could get those kinds of characters was in the comics or maybe as an animated TV show. Liking superheroes was looked down up and the fans were thought of as possibly racist, misogynist, fascist or some combination of the three. It was insulting and pissed me off. I tried telling people for years that superhero stories were amazing to no avail. Then Iron Man became a hit and suddenly liking superheroes was the cool thing to do. All those years of shitting on people like me was quickly and quietly swept under the rug. The fans who actually created and sustained the superhero comic subculture were pushed aside as masses of new fans showed up. That's fine and I'm happy so many people now recognize I was right all along about how awesome superheroes can be. The problem came when some of these newbies insisted both the comics and movies change to meet their demands of what they think superheroes and the stories about them should be. Could anything be more arrogant? Woke people like to talk about cultural appropriation but don't seem to realize that to people like me what they're doing is SUBcultral appropriation. Superhero fandom used to be a relatively small and distinct group of people. As I said, I'm all for more people becoming fans but they need to recognize it was us nerds who sustained that subculture and that it exploded into popular consciousness *as is was.* It was *our* thing that got popular without people like Victoria Alonso and her ideas. That's the root of what the media falsely call "toxic fandom". We're the fans who feel alienated because someone like Victoria Alonso to show up and tell us we've been doing things all wrong? And why in god's name would anyone look at the kind of money Marvel was making and decide things weren't good enough?

The thing is she was in Marvel before they were acquired by Disney (in a low ranked position as well), it was Disney that promoted her to the position she had when she was fired.
