This reminds me of when I saw my first pixar (and 3-D) movie, Toy Story. I was seven years old, and seeing the three-dimmensional castle for the first time blew me away!
We might see a throwback logo variant of this in “Turning Red” (except the “Walt” and “Pictures” of course) since it takes place in the early-2000s UPDATE: Missed opportunity 😩😩😩
Watching this, I know I'm going to watch something good. Watching the new logo made me think I was going to watch a Hannah Montana movie or something bad.
It would have been epic if that was the opening for Toy Story 3 just for the memories, even though the new Disney opening is just so wonderful and great. o_o
I can't believe it; first Disney starts replacing their 1985 Walt Disney Pictures logo on pre-2006 animated features with the current Disney logo, and then they go and replace THIS logo with the current Disney logo too! (but not the Pixar logo, obviously)
They had a "Celebrating 25 Years" variant of this logo that was on (sigh) "Cars 2", but it was only on the theatrical release; I don't think any DVDs or Blu-rays of the film have it. It's too bad.
Toy Story (Without the Pixar Logo) A Bug’s Life Toy Story 2 Monsters Inc. (Shortened) Finding Nemo The Incredibles (Film Music) Cars (20th Anniversary Fanfare) Ratatouille (Film Music)
I think this Disney intro is the best because it has the best marriage between an simplicity, CGI, and music. The newest one just lost all iconic integrity with it's mish-mash of fireworks and textures & trains & colors. Intros should be simple and Pixar knows that. That's why the Pixar intro is mostly the same.
