It's always in my head and I've literally only watched this movie entirely through like twice and the first was when it came out . I'm 25 years old lmao
This is honestly great advice: “Remind him who you are.” Edna knows and expects Helen to demand respect in their marriage. She’s persuading Helen to step up and not take anything less of their relationship. Queens, both of em
@@Need_RnR queens does mean great inspiring strong women in the gayese language. Also we could use it more freely now since the last actual queen just stopped existing
Edna looked so disgusted with Helen when she said she didn't know what to do. Remember how Edna sees superheroes: "I used to work for gods!" Seeing Helen lose to a normal woman just got Edna's jimmies jammed and she stepped in for the pep talk.
It's not Helen losing to a normal woman that annoys Edna, but that Helen is acting like she's not herself. The Helen that she knows (and we know) is a confident woman who will take matters into her own hand if needed to be.
At first I thought it was weird that Edna, who's obviously a millionaire, is using toilet paper instead of having tissues. But then I realized Edna would never NEED tissues.
Reminds me a lot of that scene in the godfather part I where Vito is hearing out the cries of an actor just like elastic girl here, saying “what do i do” exactly the same way Vito Corleone empowers him by saying “you can act like a man!, what’s wrong with you!”
Listen, there's only one person Bob would trust to patch his super suit, and that's YOU, E. Yes, yes, yes, yes, marvelous isn't it? Much better than those hobo pajamas he used to wear
@@HinataElyonToph Well, I think Elastigirl looks hot in a two piece swimsuit, like I do Elsa and Anna (both from the "Frozen" saga). AND if that shnook Mister Incredible DOES ditch her, I might be a shoulder for her to cry on or even give her a great big Minion Hug to make her feel better. This is MY opinion in all of this.
I love how Edna is doing her best to comfort Helen in the beginning of this scene. She is definitely uncomfortable, but doesn't really get annoyed until Helen is underplaying her capabilities. She encourages her friend to solve the problem, because that's been her mission. Edna inspires supers to do heroic acts, and now she gets to inspire a personal mission
Spencer Chua This is definitely about Helen thinking Bob is cheating. This is first initially shown by Helen's concern over a stray blonde hair she finds on his clothes, or how Bob wanted to make sure he was the one to answer the phone, causing her suspicion about Bob's newfound happiness It's also why she's worried that, "She(Helen) is losing him(Bob)" If you don't think it is, fine, that's your interpretation. Just know that pretty much everyone else on here will disagree with you
The irony is that Edna's advice was for the wrong situation -- she was telling Helen to remind Bob about his life and the man he is, with Helen assuming he was having an affair-- but it ended up working regardless. Helen arriving on the island with the kids meant that they could provide backup to Bob and foil Syndrome's plan, and Mr. Incredible realized what his priorities really were. He remembered who he was and what his life meant, and saved people.
Did she really? I mean, she suspected that Mr. Incredible was "moonlighting" as a superhero again ... she never thought he was having an affair. In fact she most likely knows full well that he loves his wife very much. So did she REALLY give advice for the wrong situation, or did she give the right advice for the right situation ... but just not correct Helen because that would have just been a waste of time?
@@Grubnar I feel that Edna knew Bob was in trouble since she was possibly keeping a record on how long he was in one place for a while (no superhero would be in one spot constantly like that unless they had been captured) and convinced Helen to go "Confront" him, plus she had already made Supersuits for her AND her kids to take on this "Confrontation". Let's face it Edna plays 3D Chess while everyone else is still playing Tik Tak Toe
@@Grubnar helen definitely suspected bob was having an affair lol, its pretty blatant in the movie theres even a deleted scene where helen directly asks him if hes having an affair
When your a kid you think that means him going back to superhero work when you’re older you realise the terrible truth of what Helen is actually thinking
Edna is one of the best Disney characters ever made. I love how she’s half German half Japanese and she sounds both. The voice actor was perfect for this role.
Apparently, the director, Brad Bird, initially asked Lily Tomlin to play Edna, but after she heard Brad doing the voice, she told him in no uncertain terms that he had to be the one to play Edna instead. So he did.
"You will show him you remember he is Mr. Incredible, and you will remind him who YOU are!" I like that she isn't playing a side and acknowledges that Bob feels forgotten by his own wife, but also that Helen needs to live up to her calling as a Super.
I just love how she says, “fight, win” as though they were steps to easily complete, because helens done it dozens of times and all she had to do is follow the steps to do it again
That’s an awesome story but Actually it was just during their storyboard meetings everyone loved the voice he would do for Edna when pitching the storyboard so much that they all wanted him to do the actual voice for her which he ended up doing (source is the behind the scenes on the original Incredibles DVD release)
You will show him that you remember he is Mr. Incredible, and you will remind him who YOU are! Now you know where he is. Go, confront the problem, fight, WIN!! And call me when you get back, darling. Cause I enjoy our visits. 😁
I would pay good money to see Tony Stark/Robert Downey Jr get owned by Edna all the while either someone from the Avengers team or Pepper looking on with a cup of coffee like "Suck it, Tony!"
i love how patiently edna humors helen while she's blubbering and sad and upset. edna understands that facing the truth and doing the right thing is tough. but when helen descends into "what am i going to do?" edna will have none of it. superheroes are allowed to be upset and to have a rough time, but they are still supposed to do the right thing.
When your a kid you think she’s crying because he’s going back to superhero work but when your older you realise the terrible truth of what she’s thinking
eh, in my opinion a movie about a good side character just ruins their effect. Like Loki. He has the perfect amount of screen time in Avengers, but when you only get him in the show it's not as good. Same with Dug from Up. Had the perfect time in the movie for his character, they made a show of him and it wasn't as good. It's like those sugar cereals like Lucky Charms that do the "whoops all marshmallows" thing. They are good in the whole cereal where you are able to appreciate and enjoy them with the rest, but when you only get that, it's not as enjoyable.
because she's emotionally crippled due to shouldering responsibility of her faulty costume designs causing the deaths of scores of people she clearly cared a great deal about?
Turnypz Too right! Like seriously what do people do about problems? Cry...... NO get up and do something about it. May god look how stupid my friend is.... GET UP , STOP CRYING AND GET OUT THERE TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
Edna is so inspiring. She helped me prevent taking back ex's for the second time. "I never look back darling*, it distracts from the now." Go E! EDIT: regardless you knew what I meant 😘
WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? YOU ARE ELASTIGIRL MY GOD! PUT YOURSELF TOGETHER! LOL Edna Moda is that good friend that always reminds you who you are and how you should feel about it!
I remember watching this as a little kid and don’t understand why she was so sad after finding a blonde hair on her husband’s jacket... so innocent (and dumb)
