It’s great watching Jackson grow up and learn to talk. He’s doing so well! I’m doing a semester of linguistics and we learned the concept of overextension which is where kids will call the things which share common features the same thing, like calling glass “ice” as Jackson did, or calling a butterfly “bird.” There’s also underextension where they use a word in a very narrow context, like they will only call labradors “dog” but not poodles.
@@vincelopiccolo I did that with the slide at the Yacht & Beach Club, couldn’t move for a few days, haha. I was in so much pain from that. But it was fun, the 20+ times I went down.
I can not get over how cute Jackson is, and now he's talking and it is so cute, I loved his little giggles while on the slide and how much he loved being in the pool.
Thanx for teaching us all to "stop and just dance", Jackson. You bring me joy! ROTFL at Jackson's Oscar-worthy grunting while trying to open the dishwasher. I think Tim goes mch faster than you on the slide because he crosses his ankles, and also lays back - cutting down on friction/resistance in both cases. Loved watching Jackson at the pool. What a sweetheart. The highlight of our Disney trip was meeting all of you at the Magic Kingdom! You were so kind and fun to talk with. Going to info dump from my psychology degree because Jen made me think of this and I have no other application for this knowledge lol. Basically kids develop schema which are essentially interpretations of the world around them so seeing a clear hard substance and being told its ice means that other similar looking things will be encapsulated by the already developed schema of ice. (This is referred to as assimilation where they take new things and place them into existing schema). And then that schema is accommodated when they get new, correct information. Our brains are almost always looking for a short cut when it comes to intaking and processing information which is why, especially when we are younger, we rely on schema to understand and categorize the world around us.

Jackson so reminds me when my nephews when they were little. One is 13 in Clermont, and one is 23 in Alberta, CA. The joy of the innocence of a little one.

Feeling nostalgic. Stayed at contemporary 30 years ago when wife worked @ Disney. Our new pool was being filled with water. Came home and pool was full. Haven’t watched your videos Ina while since Jackson was born. Cool kid! 👍🏼👍🏼

I know this may seem odd, but I would like to see you guys stay at a Disney resort during a hurricane so we can see what it's like on Disney property during a hurricane. What is there to do while you're there? Does it feel safe (I know it probably does consider it's NOAA safety rating) and what food options are there during a hurricane.
