I appreciated Carlos's character (and particularly this scene) SOO much more after I learned Carlos's backstory and watched the movies. Prince Ben was wrong....Carlos had it more than "rough" living on the Island with Cruella as his mom. His life was absolutely nothing short of heartbreaking. Its not that his mom loved her car and her fur collection MORE than her son....from what I can tell, she didn't love Carlos AT ALL. He was terrified of her. I think meeting Dude was the first time Carlos actually knew what real love felt like....because all he had known with Cruella was pain because she treated him like a slave and forced him to sleep in her freezing cold fur closet without even a pillow or a blanket until Evie gave him one. He finally knew what it felt like to love something outside of his 3 friends. That's why he formed such a strong attachment to Dude and when they were talking to the parents, Carlos was holding him....almost like a protective shield. He is SO much more than just the son of a villain. He has a really sweet and kind heart and he genuinely cares about and is very protective of the people he lets in....Mal, Evie, Jay, Dude and now Jane. He truly IS a good boy.
0:25 Ben: CARLOS!!! Carlos: BEN?? BEN?! Ben: WOAH WOAH Carlos: BEN HELP ME!! THIS IS A KILLER, HES GONNA CHASE ME DOWN AND RIP OUT MY THROAT. THIS IS A VICIOUS RABID PACK ANIMAL!! Me: XD
Amber Veronique "My mother says that dogs are rabid pack animals that eat boys who don't behave" he says that in the beginning and I was just waiting for him to meet a dog
There was more chemistry between these 2 actors in this scene than there was between Mal and Ben in the entire movie. Especially the way Ben looks at Carlos when he's holding the dog, then the touch and "good boy." I know Disney wouldn't be brave enough to make them the love interests, but they honestly should have.
Well, because this is more for kids, even though anybody I think and watch it at all ages, but some parents will complain even though there’s a different generation, but yeah there’s always gonna be pairs it’s got a plane that’s why Disney stop doing a lot of things cause I used to be more braver
This scene always makes me so happy. I'm so proud of Carlos because he's been raised by this awful woman and she teaches him all this incorrect b.s. and treats him like a servant/pet and he arrives in Auradon and not even a month in, his mother is being proved wrong.
@sweetlife031 Exclaty the VK's weren't evil, they just born with bad parents and from a bad area. They are not villians themselves, their children of the villians. They shouldn't be on the Isle of the lost unless it's to visit but stay there. An should be living in Audron.
Ben: "Good Boy" *taps carlos on the shoulder* Carlos: *looks at him like WHAT DID U JUST SAY?!* Ben: "I-i mean your a good runner, your fast!" And i was like: "THAT SAVE THO!!" *laughing my ass off*
my favorite carlos moment 💘. he's so pure and his smile is the cutest. i love how you can see how sensitive and vulnerable carlos is 💓. i'll always look back on cam's beautiful acting and see his light 💞💫.
Somehow Dude knew that he needed to chase Carlos down, to prove to him that the world wasn't out to get him, and certainly not dogs. I think dogs know way more than we give them credit for.
*for anyone who doesn't know Camren the actor who played Carlos, died yesterday at the age of 20 from a stroke/seizar caused by a disease he was being treated for.*
I loooooooooove that part 💘🌟💘🌟💘🌟💘🌟💘🌟💘🌟💘🌟💘🌟💘🌟💘🌟💘🌟💘🌟💘, because I can't believe that Cruella Da Ville son is scared of dogs 🐶, also Ben actually change Carlos into thinking that dogs 🐶 aren't scary 👹. But when Carlos was holding Dude it was like the sweetest 🍫🍬🍭 thing ever. Cameron Boyce you rock 🎸. I can't wait to see you in Descendants ✌.
Montrece Bell Cruella used dogs to intimidate and scare Carlos. She told him that dogs were vicious animals that hunted down and ripped up disobedient boys and she instilled this fear to make Carlos her slave and totally loyal to her. Watch the video that describes his backstory and it makes every scene Carlos has even more heartbreaking and heartwarming when you know his childhood.
So hilarious so talented I will not be able to watch descendants anytime soon without crying the whole time I'M GONNA MISS HIS FACE IN NEW MOVIES SO MUCH I LOVE U CAM #RIPCAMERON
Is it sad that I see a lot of chemistry between them. I think it's time Disney portrays a gay story line for a main character. Not talk about sexuality or anything, just have two dudes realize they like each other and not have it be a big deal with the other characters.
It's not sad that you see the chemistry. It's sad that the chemistry only hints at an lgbtq romance as opposed to as Disney's straight romances. It's no secret that Disney has MANY lgbtq and pro-lgbtq movie-makers, but Disney still gives in to homophobia and neglects to portray everyone openly and equally. I'm sure openly gay Descendants director Kenny Ortega knew about the #Benlos chemistry as this scene was filmed.
Go see beauty and the beast movie in 2017 its gonna have a gay character but I am still dissapionted about that and no I don't want the future movies to be about gay people what would our children are gonna think what will happen to the population without more babies and abortions
i thought i was the only one xD i thought to myself "nah vic you're trying to rub your gay off on disney characters you're being delusional". but seriously, I didn't much enjoy this movie (might be because I'm a lot older than the audience they were aiming for but psshhh) but I would've loved to see how it would've turned out if they'd decided to play on the Ben/Carlos chemistry. For now, though; let's just be happy about the supposedly gay character they'll have in Beauty and the Beast :D
I think it's time that finally deep friendships between men/boys aren't mistaken for being gay anymore. I mean seriously, why can't people just like each other without any romantic feelings? If it comes to Ben and Carlos from Descendants, Sherlock and Watson from Sherlock or even Thorin and Bilbo from the Hobbit, they are all mistaken for being gay and a couple, just because they are really close to each other. And no, I don't have anything against homosexuality. If any one of these people were officially gay, I'd be okay with it, but I don't see how they can't be just very close friends, without any romantic or sexual feelings.
How does Cruella feel about Dude??? She had a bad experience with Dalmatians outwitting her on the frickin snow-covered road while chasing a moving truck.
msmissjordan1 At first she thinks he's going to turn Dude into earmuffs or something. We never quite get to see her react to Carlos defying her after that, since Jafar went "Oooh, burn", but I thought she seemed more hurt and/or confused than angry.
