The animators of Frozen did an incredible job. The writers, not so much. Wooden characters, full of plot holes, a world that totally breaks all suspension of disbelief by making no sense whatsoever, and completely phoned-in character development and messages.
Not sure what you mean by "Wooden characters" April, but aside what the Box Office statistics indicate ($400,738,009), disbelief is always where Disney has thrived. I would guess if you talked with the director, he/she would confirm even "pushing" for a suspension of reality... But even than, the animation precedent set by the film alone is worth acknowledging it as memorable...
No look: in the snow plow simulation you can see the snow that was moved actually going somewhere. But in the end when the character's feet move forward the snow doesn't move at all.
no not yet, houdini and pheonixfd by chaos group still uses flip solver(also based on this method), and this is more improved method (also called PIC, we use it in engineering) developed by Francis H. Harlow. although you can use this mpm script in houdini (or max or maya or any other software) for simulation github.com/Azmisov/snow . this script will only solve the physics you will have to add meshes and shaders (material) to make it look like as in the movie. although you can do this in max or maya with inbuilt mparticle and nparticle system but you have to tweak it too much.

You did an amazing job and snow looks beautifuly simulated, but i still see something slightly off in that simulation, that i can't describe, that breaks immersion for me, as a person, who live in a place with pretty snowy winter. When i was at cinema, watching Frozen, at some parts of the movie my mind screams that "snow doesnt work/looks like this". Simulation looks good, but you need to work more on it.
Just a suggestion for the future: Not everybody on this earth is an american. Pleeeease don't talk that fast! Computer professionals all around the world are interested in your method. I consider myself understand english not that bad. But it is nearly impossible to follow your ideas, when it is impossible to listen to the speaker.
It's not just that he he's talking fast, he doesn't enunciate worth a goddamn. No one in America talks like this unless they are in the middle of a full blown meth tweakout.
