dont know if you guys cares but if you guys are bored like me atm you can watch pretty much all of the new movies and series on instaflixxer. I've been binge watching with my girlfriend for the last weeks xD
Aah, I had this game as a kid, and I Ioved, and still love those beautiful sound effects that you hear when you click on things and draw with certain things. And it’s so fun to draw and paint. 😇
I played this as a kid. Today I am a professional graphic designer. I just randomly remembered this game and searched it up. Looking back, this was amazing preparation for Photoshop and other design industry programs! I mean just look at how the "New File"/clipboard has the actual universal symbol for "New File". Same with a bunch of other tools, such as lasso, etc. All in a kid friendly setting where you can explore and learn by trying things out (sidenote: This I believe is the reason why things like tech skills come so easy to milennials, it's because we go into it with an attitude of "I don't know what this does, lets find out" and we tinker around like that and figure it out, versus my grandma's generation, who have an attitude of "I don't know what this does, so I better ask someone who does to write down the specific instructions step by step so I can reference back to it because there's no way I can memorize all of it" lol). Anyway, in conclusion, this game made me who i am today and i can't believe i ever forgot about it. I'm so glad i remembered this, i can't wait to show some other designers in the industry and see if any of them used to play it too!! Edit: Actually I played the original version of this. I was wondering why some of the brushes (the snails, vines, etc) seemed unfamiliar, while others (the whipped cream, jewels, ladybugs) seemed very familiar. Also, I was wondering why it didn't have the option to switch between 2D and 3D! On the original, when you clicked on the spray bottle again, you could switch between 2D (e.g. the jewels were just in flat color with black line art) to 3D (e.g. the jewels how they look in this video). Also I just remembered, I unfortunately couldn't do any of the animation studio portion of the game (the parts with drag-n-drop Mickey and Minnie etc). The whole game was very large and my old, slow windows 98 (or possibly xp?) would struggle to get through it without wheezing and heating up... but the animation parts would make it downright freeze or crash :( However, and correct me if I'm wrong anyone, but this seemed to be the case for most graphics-heavy games on those old computers (ESPECIALLY The Sims 2 omg)!!
It's great to see another fellow graphic designer who grew up playing this amazing game!! If only I realized at the time how much of these random tools that just did fun things at the time would loosely translate into what we now use on a daily basis! if only all of the adobe CC software made these noises 😅
There are three of these games: Disney's Magic Artist (1997); Disney's Magic Artist Studio (1999); Disney's Magic Artist Deluxe (2001). Maybe this is the discrepancies culprit. There is even Disney's Magic Artist 3D (2000) and Disney's Magic Artist Cartoon Maker (2002), but they're a different beast.
Never realized it until now that in my early years, I was actually on the PC more than any other platform, even if it was just 'educational' games and simulators. Still though, this game was my shit back then!
I used to play this all the time as a child and only today remembered about it again and I was so desperate to find it again...wahoo here it is! Good memories so weird hearing all the sound effects again😂
Holy crap!!! I am 23 now and I played this game probably over 15 years ago...had a huge, bulky computer and was loving it! I remember it like it was yesterday!!
I think this game is where my ASMR obsession began. As a kid, I would spend ages just clicking on the different items just because I liked the sounds they made.
this era of disney was honestly their best in terms of graphic presentation, aesthetics and interactivity. something about that time between the release of toy story and when they actually bought pixar just hits different
After all those years I suddenly remembered playing this game 10 years ago. Now I have to find out why the hell I could spend dozens of time playing this game as I remember it being a simple paint game.
i’m 24 and just remembered this game today. I don’t know why it got repressed by my memory, but just watching the mickey silhouette at the beginning brought back every detail. I’m way too thankful to you for posting this.
The first PC ‘game’ I ever played. Finding out I could click on every tool to get an alternate one up (especially the squirty cream) blew my mind. And the MUSIC stuff, nostalgia overload
I love this game and I still have it at home since it came out around late 90s early 2000s when I was about 4-8 years of age at the time 22 now and still loving the game.
28:58 this music right here! i used to play this game in the early 2000s when i was young and every now and then in the past ten years i would randomly and vaguely remember this song and have fuzzy visions of this program, but i had no idea what it was called and never thought of just searching for it. it's interesting to see this again after probably twenty years (oh god i'm old). my most visceral reaction is to the hum of the color picker, else i only vaguely remembered some visuals. thanks for uploading and archiving this :)
Ahh, yes, I used to have this game, and I still probably do. I remember being so excited to go on my computer and play this. I remember the sound effects and everything! The nostalgic times.
ahhh gosh this is so nostalgic! even if this isnt a program like clip studio or paint tool sai i still wish maybe there was modern art programs with fun little sound effects like this… its so silly but i love it so much!!! thank u for uploading this :D
God i remember this! My grandad had this on his computer and i would always visit to play when i was little. I hope to one day become a cartoonist, i've always known that's what i wanted to do and couldn't imagine doing anything else.
Haven’t played this game in over 20 years. This really takes me back to my childhood. I remember me and my friends used to spend hours playing this game on the old Windows 2000 computer from back in the day. What a time to be alive. Thanks for bringing back the memories
This is exactly what the old-generation Disney fanatics actually grew up using to create the Disney themed entertainment media related artwork masterpieces.
this is literally the most nostalgic to me! i remember playing this when i was like 4-5 on my old white desktop computer. mannnn the days. i’m 14 now, time flies
Wow! Thank you for uploading this. I think about this game at least monthly and I could never remember what it was called. I thought that it was on the Pico platform for some reason. I think because I had a game called magic crayons so I did a lot of artsy stuff on pico.. But I decided to look up painting Disney game and finally I have found it. All of the bugs and the sound effects and the spray painting. Good Lord it's nostalgic. I loved this game and it's actually pretty advanced for its time. ❤️
I loved playing this as a kid. It's what got me into art. Now, I'm publishing comic books and animating at freelance for projects and some small time studios now. It was a beginner's photoshop and clip studio for little me at the time.
I'm here for the same reason as everyone else in this comment section, however I wanted to say I love how you started up the game and immediately decided to draw a toucan lol
Bro, i thought ill never see this game again, and now you upload it to youtube and the sounds alone gave me a nostalgic shock, i wonder if i can find more cd style games like this
Just the intro alone sent me back in time. Wasn't sure if this was the right game, then the music played. Yep, this is the one. Played this all day as a kid.
The way I've been looking for this game..... I used to love it so much and then we lost the game somewhere 😢 not that any of our laptops would run this anyway...
