This movie was so so brilliant. Really, I was so blown away.

Angelina did a great job as Maleficent. I remember how sad I was when her wings were cut. Her acting was so convincing! 😃

This shows that evil is not born it was made we see that Maleficent wasn't a bad person.

So basically what we saw in the 1959 movie slepping beauty wasn't true about Maleficent she got revenge on the king for stealing her wings by puting a curse on is daughter. So he was the one who started all of it. She wasn't evil at all.. paybacks a bitch

Why did this movie get bad reviews? I absolutely loved it. It was such a wonderful movie.

the main thing I liked about this version of SB was that instead of the prince's kiss that wakes her, its Maleficent. at last, a Disney movie that does not depict "love at first sight" and only knowing each other for what, a day!? Maleficent and the princess, however, met and knew each other for a longer period of time making their relationship more believable. if she did wake up because of the prince I would have rolled my eyes and instantly put this movie on my X list.

I can't possibly think of a better casting choice for Malificent than Angelina Jolie.

This movie was amazing. It showed that even though someone can turn evil and revengeful, there's still good in them. The part where Maleficent said Aurora stole what was left of her heart made me cry....loved this movie.

I liked the happy ending. People who wanted to Maleficent to die in the end need to get over tragic novels like Romeo and Juliet.

Maleficent wasn't evil in the first place? One of the most popular disney villains having a movie where she has a starring role is a real surprise. Angelina Jolie is the best actress to play this powerful villain!

Not gonna lie, the crow turning into a dragon mid-flight in the throne room looks totally BAD-ASS.

If you seen Maleficent .. these are a couple of scenes that didn't make it into the movie because Disney felt they were "too dark" .. 1) The original story began when Maleficent's parents were killed in a war with the humans and it had a serious trauma on Maleficent as wel as trust issues. 2) Not only did King Stefan take her wings, he drugged Maleficent and raped her afterwards 3) When King Stefan presents the wings to the dying king, the dying king laughs him off saying he is just a servant, at this, King Stefan becomes very angry, grabs a pillow and kills him and calls himself "the new king" 4) In the original movie, they decided to turn Maleficent into a dragon and have the typicall Sleeping Beauty ending where she dies at the end, however they changed it so that Stefan died and Maleficent lived, they had to shot new scenes for this. 5) In the beginning she speaks to her raven of an missunderstood Queen who was tricked by a mirror thinking she was ugly, referring to The Evil Queen of Snow White, saying that these take place in the same universe.

Just seen it, one of the best Disney movies EVER, you will never watch Sleeping Beauty the same again..

Angelina Jolie's performance in this movie was truly captivating. I was blown away by her.

This may not be new to anyone else, but something that occurred to me when I was watching it recently is that in part of Maleficent’s spell/curse is that Aurora would be “beloved by all who meet her” and I think that may be the reason that Maleficent grew so fond of her, obviously part of that was because she is not as cold hearted as she thought she was and she can feel loved, but I’m not sure she thought that part through when casting the spell as she was almost caught in her own trap of growing to love her after she brought her to the moors for the first time

I judged quickly and said I didn't want to watch the movie but my sister and my mom forced me to watch and after ten minutes I love it and it was pretty badass

So basically it is going to tell the story about how Maleficent turned into a villain from a powerful, strong, and good fairy. Interesting enough. I always love Jolie, she is an amazing on-screen performer. This character suits her well. She might be winning some awards for her performance on this.

Everyone says it's a "gay" movie, I see it more as a mother's love for the fact that a true love's kiss can come from someone you love very much and apparently "Aurora" came to love as Maleficent mother never had :'), So... beautiful movie c:

It's about someone who got hurt. The love of her life took her love and then her wings - he seduced her to kill her which brought her sadness and anger and that made her put a spell on his daughter: so that he would suffer like she had. As Aurora (the daughter of the king) grew up, Maleficent began to see the beauty and regret that she once wished it would fade away, just like her happiness and beauty once had.

The best movies always come out in the summer. This was one of them...

I watched this movie today and it was really good. Spoiler** I felt really bad for Maleficent because she got her wings taken away by the man who she thought she was in love with. I`m kind of glad she killed him because he didn`t love her. He chose ruling over the kingdom over his love since he was young. But I love how disney made this movie showing that you don`t always need prince charming to your rescue or that kind of "love at first sight". The love for someone you look after and truly care about is seriously the strongest love of all. :)

Holy freakin crap I am definitely gonna watch this when it's out.

I'm a huge sucker for dragons, and that plant dragon just looks incredible. It's pretty unique-looking too. I don't think I've seen a dragon that looks quite like that one.

Before anyone shouts out "She isn't the dragon! This will suck!", keep in mind you don't KNOW that. Only once you see the movie will you know anything for sure!

I think people had high expectations on this film which explains the few bad reviews... this movie was actually deeper than many made it out to be... but yeah.. i dont think kids will understand what the wings-being-cut-out actually means...

I'm a bit sad to know that she's decided to quit acting, she's so good in not only Maleficent, but other movies, too! But oh well, I'll support her whatever choices she's made.

Honestly this movie looks surprisingly good - I thought it would be another lackluster B-movie full of cliches and being overly stylistic to attempt sacrificing story for visual effects, but it looks like a rather appealing take on the classic. And Sharlto Copley makes a damn good villain, so I actually may like this movie.

This trailer made me want to see this movie. I didn't want to see it at first.

For those who keep on complaining about Maleficent's status as an antihero, let's get some things straight. In the original Disney movie, Maleficent was portrayed as evil because the movie was in the perspective of the three fairies. They saw Maleficent as a heartless monster and saw themselves as good parents for Aurora. This movie, however, is in Maleficent's perspective where she sees herself as a misunderstood fairy trying to protect what is rightfully hers. Meanwhile, the three fairies are portrayed as "neglectful and superficial" towards Aurora. Lastly, the movie changed the three fairies from the original movie because Maleficent never really knew that much about the fairies. Therefore, their names, appearance, and behavior had been changed for this movie. (Sorry this message was so long).
