Iger's smart - he cuts a bunch of jobs, keeps all the stuff people hate, but announces nebulous things that likely are at best 50/50 of happening and people cheer him.
@@kdusel1991 Iger is spending a ton of money on the wrong things. Chapek isn't spending much money. Iger is worse because, when better leadership comes along, there will be no money left to spend well.
@@kdusel1991 Iger is the worst thing to ever happen to Disney. When I take over Disney, everything he did will be undone in a policy of De-Igerfication. I will be the Trump Disney needs to make it great again. Disney would even better off with Trump himself in charge.
You know, let's do Avatar PeopleMover. If it reopens the ride for Dallin, let's make it happen. That way we can get that 15 minutes of happy sobbing that we know we'll see following the announcement.
Things I didn't expect to hear in an Offhand Disney video: 1. Naked Lincoln I am forever corrupted! My youthful innocence and optimism? Gone! All that's left in my mind is "Naked Lincoln". Thanks, Dallin!
@@jrios29 honestly I don’t know, I thought of it because of a story where someone said they saw Lincoln while naked. He got done with a bath and Lincoln was just there being gay I guess.
The area where the motorboat ride used to be would be an awesome spot to build it. It gives you three Avatar rides for the price of one (and a half). An Avatar boat ride, Avatar people mover, and Avatar Autopia. So much synergy.
My bet is an experience inside Innoventions. But if we think big, Grizzly Peak/Condor Flats translates super well to a full Pandora land. I wouldn’t advocate for it, because I love that area, but I could see adding some floating islands around grizzly peak, reface it, add some animatronics, make it not so splashy, etc. They could turn Soarin into Flight of Passage (but please don’t!). And the Kids Trail could be turned into a Home Tree experience. Idk… it makes sense, but I wouldn’t want it.
Avatar has nothing to do with "tomorrow"...IF they were going to do anything with the innovations building they've been saying they are tearing down for years, it would more than likely be to bring Tron Lightcycle Run to Disneyland...Computers are real, "fantasy" belongs in Fantasyland
@@lutherheggs451 Agreed. But it’s Sci-Fi, just like Star Wars, which has always had a home in Tomorrowland. It’s more like Star Wars than any fairytale you find in Fantasyland. The thing about placing it in Innoventions is that you don’t see it from the outside, so the look and feel of Tomorrowland doesn’t change.
God no grizzly peaks is my favorite spot in ca adventures. It’s so peaceful and reminds me of my childhood camping trips. Just leave avatar out of Disneyland period! There is no room period
You should talk about the union negotiations that are happening at Disney World right now. This is a subject that’s actually important and affects lives. Of course theorizing about the Avatar experience is fun but how Disney is treating their cast members by not paying them what they truly deserve is disgusting.
Whatever it is, I hope it's in Tomorowland and they use it as a pretense for doing the much-needed major Tomorrowland overhaul now that Toontown is (almost) done.
It should just be an audio-animatronic of James Cameron telling you to watch Avatar 3 when it definitely releases in 2024 and totally doesn't get pushed back. And he's yelling it from on top of the People Mover track
I predict they’ll put the Avatar Experience from Singapore in the old Innoventions building. Just like Launch Bay was a preview center for Galaxy’s Edge, it could be a preview center for the Disneyland Forward expansion project with a full fledged avatar land. However it would be way cheaper and more likely they demolish the Hollywood backlot section of DCA first before moving onto DL Forward. As for a new attraction, I’d be interested in a VR-based ride. Remember the GM “SSC” (aka OnStar promo) with Sparky the robot in Innoventions?? They had a little ride for it!
There's that pixie hollow meet and greet on the border of Tomorrowland and Fantasyland. I can see them combining that area and the bottom floor of Innoventions for a complete Avatar walkthrough (likely based on that Avatar experience that's already been built). That way they could have some trees and wooded areas, some indoor space, and still technically be in Tomorrowland
I think replacing the Star Wars attractions in Tomorrowland with Avatar makes the most sense. Star Tours could be reskinned to Alpha Centari Expeditions. The exhibits in Launch Bay can be replaced with an ACE visitor center filled with information on Pandora. Tomorrowland South, Space Mountain, and Carousel theater building can become themed as a space port. Pizza Planet can become a Pongu Pongu or Satu’li Canteen clone.
They should expand Pandora in Disney World too, it doesn't have enough attractions in my opinion. Plus Navi river journey is only good for the shaman of song at the end.
they should just replace it with beastly kingdom tbh, avatar is getting kinda old, meaning younger people (the primary demographic of animal kingdom) are guaranteed to forget about it.
@@Aerithymia they literally just released a movie that made over 2 billion dollars in a matter of weeks and is still going strong...There are also atleast 4 more Avatar movies coming.
@@lutherheggs451 I would be okay with beastly kingdom replacing dinoland. It would fit better than Zootopia imo. As long as they keep dinosaur though. That ride's fun.
I think you're overlooking the empty space in the Starcade. It's probably too small for the banshee animatronic, but it could fit a little museum exhibit while they work on something more substantial. (I'm personally trying to manifest a submarine retheme.)
Not one cent!!!!! Cast members are pushing it..... Think of how much those small plush animal toys would raise from $30 dollars..... Bottle of water 5 dollars...
@@kboostmobile6580 cast members are why Disney is so magical . Their love for the park is what separates Disney from other parks. Also there are so many who work for Disney and can not even afford bare necessities . There are parents who can’t afford diapers, individuals who sleep in their cars because they can’t afford apartment and some even struggle for groccery. If you are bothered by the thought of merchandise becoming more expensive in order for cast members to have a live-able wage , don’t buy the merchandise. Simple as that , no one is forcing you too .
I'm thinking 100% an Innoventions exhibit. Since Disney refuses to take my suggestion and turn that place into Space 220, then I don't see why they wouldn't transplant that Pandora exhibit into that building. If not, then they could put it into one of the sound stages, as mentioned. If we're thinking actual attraction, I there are 2 possibilities I can think of. 1 is maybe they do a temporary overlay of Soarin' into Flight of Passage. I don't know exactly the logistics of how they could, but considering that FoP is just Soarin' 2.0, I don't see why they couldn't. My second suggestion is maybe they finally get rid of Star Tours and turn it into an Avatar simulator adventure. That wouldn't be my favorite course of action, but it would probably be the best one.
Space 220 restaurant from EPCOT would TOTALLY work in the old Innoventions building, and would fit in with the Tomorrowland the,. Plus, it would be a NEW and relatively inexpensive to construct experience fot the DL resort.
@@RetroFett Right? I've been saying it for YEARS. I can't believe they haven't jumped at that chance yet. Disneyland needs another table service restaurant, especially one on the west side of the park, and they have the perfect concept just sitting there. For as much as Disney likes to clone attractions they should really start cloning restaurants too.
Remember, Anaheim won't sell Disney anymore land so we have to look at the parking lots that are not being used. Harbor Blvd is in the way amongst hotels and new retail areas, which means either something will be removed inside the park or transportation is going to be a nightmare going to a new location.
I actually really like the idea of avatar coming to tomorrow land. I'd be okay with it changing the land, making it more jungle like. Take out Autotopia (because let's be real there's nothing futuristic about it anymore), turn that into an avatar experience. I also think the path to Rise feels like a piece of Pandora already, so it would be easy to put it in that area if they have the space.
It seems odd, but I think a themed experience/store like Universal does would be really nice. I’m a huge Jurassic Park fan and when they did the JP Legacy shop I spent hours- literally hours- in that store. It had multiple themed rooms with props from the original films, it gave the ‘museums’ exhibit lovers something to enjoy, it also have the ‘high immersion’ fans a nod, and gave us some exclusive merch and food items to enjoy that made it super special! If Disney was do do something like that, it would do what they want (make money,) but also give the guests an amazing experience! Bonus in that it could be changed out when they had something new they wanted to highlight.
I’m surprised that you didn’t speculate using your video a few months back about that Imagineer who Tweeted the teasing photo near the old boat ride loading platform under the Monorail tracks. That area of the park has been dormant for decades and could host some version of the Navi River Journey pretty easily.
I would enjoy if WDW added more immersive and fun shows and experiences. They should bring that Avengers Academy thing from the cruise to Disney World or like an immersive show
I remember when you did nice sweet history videos with Disney park music in the background and now you are just a Disney conspiracy theorist and I’m here for it
Well lets re-theme Tianas Bayou Adventure to Avatar? Or just sprinkle Avatar throughout the parks, like a Pandoran invasion? Thor riding a banshee, that would get people into the parks.
dude i ran into Josh d’amaro in line a few days ago at disneyland. head of disney parks and experiences. shoulda asked him about the people mover- i was just so confused as to why he was there just riding rides. No one really seemed to know who he was 🤯 except for one other couple. i felt like such a nerd for knowing lol
Let’s go BIG!! Rip out the problematic subs (low pph), reroute and shorten the autopia (low pph), reroute and bring back the peoplemover, reroute the monorail as it comes back into the park (yet keep in service as a shuttle from DtD to Tomorrowland and roundhouse during construction). The resulting area of the old motorboat cruise/Fantasyland autopia and the subs would be a great area for a new land. Rockwork/trees to hide Pandora, from It’s a Small World. Proper forced perspective could probably even hide the Matterhorn from Pandora. Go Big!!
In mid and late 1990s, Universal Studios Florida did the museum-walk through with Jurassic Park in part of Monsters Cafe before now-closed Shrek Donkey meet and greet.
I think the Star Wars launch bay/innoventions will become a pandora outreach center. Maybe a way of water version of first flight. I say take the steam punk sculpture off of the people mover loading area and put the animatronic banshee there.
Avatar would definitely fit connected to Tomorrowland. And although I agree with your take on Star Tours, there is another attraction that just doesn't fit the "future" theme of that land. Gas powered cars. There are 2 ways to turn that area into Pandora. First is a simple retheme of Autopia itself. Update the cars and theming to fit Avatar. Or the one people won't like, remove the cars, build a small Pandora, and retheme Nemo to the Way of Water. But it's more likely to be in Innovations/America Sings/Carousel of Progress on the bottom floor. Or possibly a 4D film in the old Captain Eo theater. 🤷♀️
I feel like it’s gonna be something stupid like the Star Wars feature they did in the Tomorrowland theater but most likely it’ll replace the marvel stuff at innoventions
What about the tomorrowland theater? It’s been closed forever and it wouldn’t be replacing anything. They could change the seats and show a 4D avatar movie.
Autopia has so much real estate that needs to be reimagined. The gas fumes from the cars don’t scream “world of tomorrow” to me. So, Autopia, Innoventions, and the peoplemover can give them space to work with.
My money is on bringing the animatronic over from China and putting it in one of the studio hangers in the backlot. What I’d hope for is the Downtown Disney parking lot turned to pandora via DisneylandForward.
Considering Disney likes cramming all their IP’s into California Adventure, we’re probably going to see it there. But I’ve seen a comment saying that they could retheme Star Tours to a RIDE - not a museum. That could work, maybe if the ride vehicle was a mech. Or something...
I’m going to Disneyland on March 10. I need you see you genius. I learned everything from you. I appreciated Disneyland because of you. Love you bro. Hope to see you one day
I think it would be neat if they re-themed the Astro Orbiter rockets into banshees and put the ride back in its old location where that sculpture is now.
There is the theater between Space Mountain and Star Tours where they used to do Honey I shrunk the audience. I can see them doing a temporarily overlay of Soarin'. I'm not sure I see them doing much with Star Tours. It has too much of a fanbase. They generally don't like to upset the Star Wars crowd if they don't have to. I liked Fresh Baked thought of doing something with the water area next to Autopia as previously hinted that something maybe in the works there.
the Star Wars crowd are literally just as bad as the mentally deficient Disney crowd who constantly cry about everything and constantly fart of "if Walt were alive" conveniently ignore that Walt said many times that attractions at the Disney parks should constantly be changed out, so most of those rides they cry about every time anything is done to them wouldn't even exist "if Walt were alive"
Retheming Star Tours would be easy - but the comparison to Flight of Passage would have it get an awful reputation. My bet is the Singapore experience brought over to the former Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney. It's a Star Wars shop atm IIRC?
“99% not a land”. Looks like it’s going to be a land or something close to that. What is bizarre to me is that some RU-vidrs thought it would be a meet and greet or walkthrough exhibit when the President of Disney announced it at an earnings call. Why would he announce a meet and greet or exhibit on arguably his most important earnings call during his time at Disney?
I genuinely think they’re going to put this “experience” in either ESPN zone’s old building or the Rainforest Cafe building. (They’d have to get rid of or move the Star Wars store but they already have Star Wars stuff at world of Disney).
My guess, is that Winnie the Pooh will be moved to Fantasyland (with the new Fantasyland Theater) and Critter Country will be rethemed to Pandora. This will also pave the way for the future expansion that is the Disneyland Forward project. Tiana will be an extension of New Orleans Square.
They can’t build escape tunnels for wheelchair users in the buildings so they are never going to reopen the peoplemover. Sorry for the rain on your parade.
Also there was a avatar world traveling experience that went to museams (i saw it at the henry ford a few years back) with things like scale models and clips of the Na'vi langueage, so an avatar exhibit is basically pre built
There needs to be a new skin for Haunted Mansion, of course! Haunted Navi! The dining scene is definitely large enough for a "visit" from a full size banshee.
It's probably Flight of Passage but it'd be totally awesome if they shocked me and built a whole new ride. I really hope it's not just an exhibit, I'm tired of space being wasted on things I could see in manhattan
personally i think the experience is going to be in adventureland and that tarzan's treehouse is coming to an end despite the S.E.A. concept image for a few reasons 1. it makes perfect sense considering that a majority of both movies so far take place on nature-filled pandora and not as much of futuristic RDA environments, which means they have the opportunity to theme it after hometree or the tree of souls 2. tarzan as a franchise feels like it hasn't been relevant in years 3. to reiterate from 1, fantasyland and tomorrowland just don't seem like they're very fitting candidates for what's to come, and if an entire land ends up being made rather than just one attraction in an existing land, then they're going to have to be careful about where they plan this
My guess is it's going to be a show of some sort...maybe with a mini-museum. That animatronic banshee looks really cool, btw...maybe if they have space constraints they could do a scaled-down version of it...a baby banshee, if you will...maybe with the animatronic head of a parent attached to the wall with a projection behind it to make it seem like the full-size one was there, without ACTUALLY having a full-size adult banshee. But the baby would be a full animatronic. Am I over-thinking this?...probably.
I'm of the mind this thing is either going into Tomorrowland or the Challenge Trail - those seem like the most appropriate spots without making it *really* messy, cohesively speaking
1st thought, it would be a simple walk through Navi River Journey-type of attraction. 2nd and hopeful thought, that Bob would actually care to win my jaded heart back… That he would resurrect the people mover But I seriously doubt it 🙃
I’m thinking some Pandora botanical theming theming around Rise of the Resistance plus maybe some animatronics. It would blend into the alien Batuu landscape. But, man. I wish the Adventure Land Tree house was Navi themed. That would rock!
gonna bet since theres an attraction literally called “The Avatar Experience” in Singapore where you can see pandoran plants as well as a real life ikran animatronic, they will most likely place this in innoventions since thats what they did for star wars and marvel RIP disneyland park though i miss when it had its own identity
Hey Dylan what do you think of them possibly putting it where big thunder mountains old attraction used to be can't remember the name at the moment but they've been really busy back there cleaning up and doing things do you think they could put the avatar attraction there?
Hey offhand, I know you don’t usually cover such topics but I want to ask you to do this. Disney’s behavior with the Union at Walt Disney World. We need to have a United front and publicly let Disney know their treatment is wrong. People that work full time shouldn’t have to live in their car or massive group homes while working at the happiest place on earth. Disney can afford to but their greed is standing in their way. We need to unite and let them know this is wrong. Thank you.
Cast members are what makes disney parks magical. Cast members create the environment disney goers know and love. I hope Disney gets engough pushback and finally pays cast members what they deserve .
Great video! Disney isn't spending any extra money, even Tianas is getting smaller budget than needed. Don't they have a avatar "experience" in Japan? Or am I mistaken
The new movies are amazing and fun for the whole family but to me Disneyland was always a classic, “Walt’s amusement park” so I wish they focused more on the classic movies like that Walt made/ overlooked or the disney renaissance era too, these new attractions always have to do with marvel avatar, Star Wars and so on but there’s so many classic characters we grew up in that I wish we’d see in the park in some way other than a walk around character.
