Can't believe this was 5 years ago. It seems like this was last year or 2 years ago. Even though this was in 2012, I still want to congratulate to the actors, playwrights, music composer and the show itself for earning 8 nominees at the Tony Awards. They so totally deserve the nominations and winning some Tony Awards. Congrats Newsies!!!
Hi!! It’s been 2 years since you made this and I just wanted to say: same. No matter how old this show gets I will be so thankful to the work they did.
Watching these guys remind me of just how much I love the theatre. I may not be alive if not for theatre. Plus Newsies was a great inspiration for me whereas I finally took my dancing seriously
I love each of their reactions. They are so adorable, and they truly seem to have quite a cohesive bond, something that doesn't happen all that often in Broadway casts. :)
Fansies, this is really happening! All us kids of the nineties who have loved the movie for so long are finally seeing our beloved musical make it big on Broadway. Keep Carrying the Banner Newsies!
omg omg this video just made me want to watch the tony even if its a school night. i have yet to see my first Broadway show but i hope to see NEWSIES if it sticks around for me. CONGRATS AND IM CANT WAIT FOR THE TONYS!!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! I screamed like a little school girl when I heard the nominations! 8 nominations guys! THAT'S HUGE!!!!! I'll for sure be watching the Tony Awards June 10th! I can't wait!!!!!!
You guys should have won best musical! I grew up with the movie, and the music, and no matter what has changed from the original Newsies, its still well.. the Newsies! You guys are amazing!
I hope Newsies wins for Best Musical. I feel nervous that the stupid Broadway people thinks Once is going to win since it got 11 tony nomination. Once is a lovely musical, but not as lovely as Newsies. Hope it wins all the tony awards.
ah okay, thank you! at the time of my comment I was pretty new to the musical but now I've watched about a hundred more videos and kinda pieced it together but thank you :)
Eugenia EasilyObsess books in the theatre world means the story that's written that connects the songs. so basically the plot, storyline, character development, etc!
Harvey Fierstein who wrote the script for the show. He's an 8-time Tony winning actor and playwright. His roles include Edna in Hairspray, Frank in Mrs. Doubtfire (which he and Alan Menken are reuniting for a Broadway musical version of) and voicing Yao in Mulan. His script credits include La Cage Aux Folles, Kinky Boots and the teleplays for the NBC live productions of the Wiz, Hairspray (where he reprised his role of Edna) and this December Bye Bye Birdie starring Jennifer Lopez as Rosie.
