Disney's Old Key West Resort is the Most Relaxing Hotel at Disney World!

Ahhh so happy to see this! We stayed at Old Key West when we came over Christmas 2019 for my Make A Wish trip. The resort was so beautiful, relaxing and immersive. The cast members went above and beyond for me and my family - most amazingly being that they gifted us 3 days of park hopper passes for my whole fam, and there are 6 of us. MAW only gives 3 days of park hopper passes and we were going to pay for 3 more, but the OKW cast members wouldn’t let us. They insisted that it be their gift to us. Beyond that, they welcomed us to our villa with a bag full of amazing, deluxe gifts and goodies, gave us a great dining plan deal, allowed us to get colored magic bands (typically with MAW you get the basic grey ones), and handled all my medical supplies wonderfully. We had several large boxes of my life sustaining medical supplies shipped to the resort a day before we arrived and they needed to be refrigerated. The cast members were on it and ensured that they were properly handled, refrigerated, and kept away from food or anything else that could have compromised them. The resort itself is incredible, but the cast members there... they were everything a perfect cast member should be and then some. Can not speak highly enough of them. I don’t know if I will ever be able to go back to Disney, and if that was our last family trip with all 6 of us, it was absolutely perfect and I know my siblings and parents couldn’t have dreamed of a better final disney trip with me. I have been to Disney many times throughout my life, but that trip, it was my favorite Disney trip (and trip in general) ever. Everything was so perfect, and I can say without a doubt it wouldn’t have been the same if we hadn’t stayed at OKW and been so loved by the cast members there.

I'm so happy your at Old Key West! My son's and I stayed there in September and LOVE it there!!! We were on Turtle Pond Road and I spent a day at the pool there, was lovely! I would stay there again in a heart beat!

I've often complained about the Gurgling Suitcase and how small it is, but I have so many great Disney memories from inside there. Awesome Report!!

This is my home resort and I absolutely can't recommend it enough!! Olivia's Buttermilk Chicken is DELICIOUS and the Gurgling Suitcase definitely holds a special place in my family's heart since both my parents are retired police officers! The rooms are spacious and the resort itself offers a vibe you can't find anywhere else!! 10 out of 10 in my book!

I heard that the music plays on loop at the park even when it's closed. Does that mean the music at Fantasy Square will play consistently for the rest of the month with no people there? Something creepy to think about.

It was our 1st DVC stay. Great resort but only bus transportation anywhere besides Disney Springs which has that great boat ride!

I had to go back and look at the signal flags when you mentioned them. There a couple below frame, but you're right about what they spell.

Oh molly, I just changed my old key west stayfrom May 5 to sept 9. Sad day for me and the kids. But hey, at least I still get to go!

When the parks are back, please do races with someone. Like, who gets the most fastpasses in one day, who goes to more rides in one day... I recently found you on RU-vid and I love your content Molly! So many good tips and them make me feel as I am in the park!

There’s an excellent fried chicken sandwich at the snack bar by the pool at Old Turtle Pond Road at OKW. The catch is it’s only open for lunch.

Molly, love this resort tour. Still dreaming of an Epcot walkable resort. Honestly happy my budget goal was/is two years out now.

We still have multiple VHS players, including one that's connected to our DVD player. We use it to covert our home videos from VHS to DVD. We even still have a working wall phone that we use all the time. These devices still exits and still work, yet sadly fade away. I'm typing this as you just stated that the movie rentals are actually DVD and not VHS lol. But they're still a thing and sometimes you just want to watch a classic Disney film like Cinderella VHS.

We stayed here in October 2019 (we have a walk through on our channel as well!). We LOVED Old Key West - it was perfect for our Disneymoon destination!

All WDW resorts have pros & cons. OKW 2 bedroom villa pros include one of the most peaceful and tranquil environments @ WDW as well Olivia's (incredible prime rib and awesome breakfast). Respectfully recommend OKW!

OKW is our family's favorite. Mostly because the size of the 1 bedroom is huge! My wife and I have 2 teenagers and use the "great room" as their bedroom - one on the pullout couch and the other on the flipout chair. We like getting a room near one of the quiet pools. I recommend bringing/renting a car as the resort is huge and the Disney buses can add some time. If Disney expands the Skyliner to OKW and POR/FQ this would make it even more amazing.

Hi, Molly. I love your vids. The DVD rentals made me think of question. Do the WDW resorts have Disney+ on all the guest room TVs? Seems like they would.

We always try for 3213 which is our favorite and most convenient for us. We get the two bedrooms because of the kids but they are all nice. I especially like the quiet and peaceful atmosphere at OKW. I wish they would make another dedicated DVC along these lines, somewhere. Who knows, maybe someday they will and turn OKW into condos or retirement community. My wife retires this year and we will be looking for a place in the area. Can't afford Golden Oak but maybe these? lol

all about all the Key Lime! Also -- Pro Tip, If you're taking the bus around the resort, the Hospitality House is the last stop on every bus before it leaves the resort. AND the Penninsular Stop (just over the bridge from Hospitality House) is the FIRST, so you can walk there to get back to all the other sections of the resort on ANY bus.

What kind of mic do you use for your videos?

We are open to all opinions for our July 2021 stay. We will have a 4 night package with base tickets and are leaning towards staying at Riviera with our 2 adult children and their spouses plus our 2.5 yo granddaughter.......but our 2 night DVC stay for the 2 nights after our package is what is up in the air. We own at CCV and will book that for a guarantee stay but are hoping to find something at 7 months out and switching our reservation for those last 2 nights. I like the cheaper price point at OKW and think we could get a 3 bedroom......we won’t have any tickets for those last couple of days so we need a resort with a relaxing vibe. I originally thought BC because of Stormalong Bay but not sure how relaxing that would be plus it is hard (but not impossible) to get at 7 months out, esp in July. What resort do you think is a good one for a family of 6 adults? Is the golf course available to anyone who wants to play?

Staying at Old Key West, tried to order the Duvall Burger, were told they were no longer offering it. Not sure if its a temporary thing but very sad.... 😭😭😭
