this tune is actually pretty deep. the crocodile "Tick Tock" symbolizes that no matter how long you postpone death, it always gets you eventually. just like the croc knows it gets hook eventually.. its only a matter of _TIME._ that's where the clock comes in.
@@harryfleutv666 the difference between TickTock and that wolf from pussinboots is that one was very on-the-nose about being the aspect of death, whereas the other did it very subtly.
For me the crocodile is my favortie character in Peter Pan because when Peter Pan is mentioned to me the crocodile is the first character that springs to mind!
i think the crocodile represents guilt. Like hes a pirate captain and does wrong, the crocodile is like a consequence but he fails to change so he keep facing his own demons (in the shape of that corcodile) i would be terrified to if i was him XD
This song is exactly the right amount of catchy to stick with me for years without hearing it once and not get stuck in my head for long enough to get annoying.
[Singing] Never smile at a crocodile No, you can't get friendly with a crocodile Don't be taken in by his welcome grin He's imagining how well you'd fit within his skin Never smile at a crocodile Never tip your hat and stop to talk awhile Never run, walk away, say good-night, not good-day Clear the aisle but never smile at Mister Crocodile You may very well be well bred Lots of etiquette in your head But there's always some special case, time or place To forget etiquette For instance Never smile at a crocodile No, you can't get friendly with a crocodile Don't be taken in by his welcome grin He's imagining how well you'd fit within his skin Never smile at a crocodile Never dip your hat and stop to talk awhile Never run, walk away, say good-night, not good-day Clear the aisle but never smile at Mister Crocodile
I love this musical cue, but it actually has a little bit of a sad history behind it. Frank Churchill was a composer for Disney, who wrote music and songs for several of their films such as Bambi and Snow White. I believe they had started work on Peter Pan and he had composed the song Never Smile at a Crocodile then. But due to multiple other movies getting started they postponed working on Peter Pan for nearly Ten years, and sometime between then he had committed suicide. 😢 the reason is not 100% known. Some think it has some to do with a form of criticism Walt Disney gave on the music for Bambi, while others claim it was because of the deaths of two of his closest friends in the orchestra dying within a month of each other. Either way, on top of all of it, he was also an alcoholic if I remember correctly. Regardless, the song never gets sung in the movie, but instead is used as the leitmotif for Tick Tock the Crocodile. Excellent melody that’s full of great character and life!! Just such a shame it has such a tragic backstory.😔
@@gassmeller4670 Actually crocodiles do live in America, but only through mostly the central through eastern south Florida to parts of Texas I think. goo.gl/images/QjuqM9 here's proof. (You're probably thinking about the Nile Crocodiles, and Saltwater crocodiles)
There should be a huge tic toc croc animatronic. That plays the theme Imagine this: you r riding on a boat to animal kingdom. You here the ticks and tocks as you approach a huge croc animatronic sprints out of the water near you. The people in the boat with you panic. But. The animatronic looks around the boat. And? No Captain hook. So the animatronic would look Disappointed and sink down it the water. Disney! Make it happen
Oh the mighty crocodile. A amazing creature who can reside in the mountain springs where the water is as fresh as it gets, or if preferred, stay out at sea, coming to land only to lay eggs. Going where they want, living where they please, happy and free, never to spend money for food water or travels. So wild. So free. I wish there was a chance I could ever amount to being just as amazing. Oh if only for just a little while.
For some reason I’ve always loved this song it unleashes me lol … even now battling corona I keep hearing this … Helps me for some reason I guess it reminds me of how strong I was as a kid 💚
Lyrics: Never smile at a crocodile No, you can't get friendly with a crocodile Don't be taken in by his welcome grin He's imagining how well you'd fit within his chin Never smile at a crocodile Never tip your hat and stop to talk awhile Never run, walk away, say good-night, not good-day Clear the aisle but never smile at Mister Crocodile I learned this while living in Charleston, SC. Glad to say I have both my hands to this day.
Mr. Smee: And Then she would've had you by now, Captain, if he hadn't swallowed that alarm clock. But now, when she's about, he'd warn you, as you might say, with his tick-tock, tick-tock, tick-tock tick-tock tick-tock tick-tock.
He would heard you by now captain if he hadn't swallowed that alarm clock, but now when he's about, he warns you as you might say, with his tick tock tick tock tick tock!
Of all entrance themes of side kick characters in disney history I have to say this was the most memorable of them all, to this day my head and eyes twitch ot the beat....
Disney was well ahead of his time with this musical theme and the now-famous song based on it. This would indirectly inspire Mike O'Donnell and Junior Campbell when they wrote the musical themes for all the Thomas & Friends characters and the songs dedicated to said characters and based on their respective themes
I Love how the Suspense builds up to the moment we see the Large Beast himself. It Always scared me when the background music stopped and You could hear the tick tock getting more louder, I'm still scared of him
Rivals the music used for the shark in Jaws. You know something awful is about to happen. Unsettling to think what an R-rated live-action adaption of this film would be like.
Never smile at a crocodile No you can’t get friendly with a crocodile Don’t be taken in by his welcome grin He’s imagining how well you’d fit within his skin

Probably, though at times he reminds me of a Sarcosuchus with how big he is. Now THAT is a terrifying thought… being pursued by one of those, land or water.
and The master complained about a drumming sound in his head for...what, a couple years? bitch please, this guy had a ticking clock for his entire life xD
oh my god this song reminds me of waiting in the line for peter pan and cracking my phone on the wall. gladly i have a screen protector but i haven’t changed it out
Bro, I can fall in the water with that crocodile 🐊 and he won’t eat me because for some reason he prefers Captain Hook over any one since he ate his hand 🖐 and somehow found it delicious. Thats how badly he wanted captain hook.
Hook: "Row for the ship, row for the shi" bonk hits the opening of the cave wall, and falls into the water. Tick Tock crocodile seeing what happened lunges for Hook. Hook surfaces, and sees the crocodile speeding towards him. Hook" Whoaaaaa!" before dodging the jaws. Hook tries to swim away but hits his head on the cave entrance again, and the crocodile barrels after him. Hook:" Smeeeeeeee!"
@@AlessiaRomanoSchiavella Agreed, and I also like what happens afterward with Capt Hook soaking his feet in the hot water, and trying to get rid of his headache. Only for Smee to accidently hit him on the head; after Hook was trying to get him to knock off with the nailing of the do not disturb sign.
