I loved this game. I still think about it 20+ years later despite my memory of it being fuzzy. There’s a certain type of nostalgia i feel that’s bittersweet with these things that have become abandonware and lost to time.
I'm sure you're right since I'm 100% certain mine was in Finnish with a Finnish dub. 😂 This game is very nostalgic (the cub chase especially) but for some reason this is the first time I've ever googled it or read/watched anything about it, 24 or so years later.
So... is this set in a alternate universe where Kovu was either accepted into the pride at a young age or where Kovu was born into the pride and never lived in the outlands? Or heck maybe timon and pumba are just watching him in secret? ... oh whatever it's a kids game.
This was my and my twin sisters favorite game when we were 8/9 years old! I always played Kovu and she played Kiara. We especially loved the labyrinth. We used to do funny things in our favorite levels, like trap Timon & Pumbaa. 😂
Happy 4th of July weekend everyone 🥂🎉🥂🎉. Stay safe and try not to go out unless it's for more party 😂 God bless all of you. My friend will now take my social media because I'm going to party hard . It's the best thing to do . 💙🥂
31:10 Back in 1998, some stores in Italy started to sell CD-rom boxes with this section of the game (the game itself was named "Block smasher"). I have no idea whether this was intentional or there were other CD-Roms with one game each. In any case, I'm glad to have found this game after 25 years (and yes, I was four when I tried it for the first time) .
I still play this game! The operating system that I use is Windows XP (on a virtual machine). Setting up a virtual machine is complicated, but if you really want to play this game (and you have an operating system more recent than Windows XP), there are lots of great videos on RU-vid about how to create a Windows XP virtual machine. Windows 95 and Windows 98 also work for this game, but these operating systems are even trickier to install in virtual machine. Good luck!
Do you still have the game disk? If you don't, I think you can download it from Internet Archive. The trickiest part, though, is actually installing the game. This game won't even run on Windows 7! However, if you can set up a Windows XP virtual machine, you'll be able to install and run the game perfectly (even in Windows 11). There are lots of tutorials on RU-vid about how to set up a Windows XP virtual machine, but keep in mind that it's complicated and takes time. If this is your first time, I can assure that creating a virtual machine takes a lot of patience and trial and error, too. Also, when you're playing the game, you'll want to avoid pressing the "Esc" key when exiting the game. Unfortunately, pressing "Esc" doesn't allow you to skip the cutscene at the end; it just freezes up your virtual machine!
Tell the truth, Jason Marsden did a great job and a much better job on doing the voice of Young Kovu than Ryan O’Donohue. Plus, Michelle Horn’s voice of Young Kiara was the best while Eden Riegel’s voice of Simba and Nala’s daughter was the worst. Specifically, Nathan Lane, Quinton Flynn and Kevin Schon acted professionally as the voices of Timon while Jim Cummings, Bruce Lanoil and Billy Eichner acted unprofessionally as the voices of that slender meerkat. And last but not least, Ernie Sabella and Seth Rogen had the right attitude to do the voices of Pumbaa while Jim Cummings and Leslie Hedger had the wrong attitude to do the voices of that plump warthog.
