I actually really like Ursula just wanting to rule the ocean cause she wants to. I wasn’t left ‘scratching my head’. The backstory is interesting, but I don’t think it feels like anything is missing from the film. Similar to Maleficent in the original Sleeping Beauty, I enjoy how this villain’s motive is just being evil because they like it.

The fact is in my opinion when a villain has a motivation for ruling something something whenever telling their backstory can be interesting but when comes to storytelling in entertainment media is up to the executive producer and director’s decision and it can be considered to be a long movie to watch like Avengers: Infinity War. Besides, we need the battle of good and evil to go on and sometimes the good kills the evil that makes them no better than they were unless their too evil to rule then better might as well do it.

I once had the theory that the powerful and dangerous Sorceress, whose Triton has sealed in the cave, is the mother of Ursula and there also is an ongoing war in the Sargasso Sea between the Merpeople and Octopans. But since so many Ariel fans have told me so many times that the TV-series and second movie aren't in the canon (or they aren't exist), so my old theory could possibly be wrong and dated.

Ursula belonged to a separate group of Mer-people that had squid tentacles instead of fish tails. She is the daughter of Poseidon and rules over the squid people. Her Freudian love or lustful desire for her brother Triton turned to jealousy when she attended Tritons wedding and discovered that Ariels mother was even more beautiful than she. Ursula grew angry and tried to start a war against her brother, defying Poseidon in the process and being condemned to live without a voice to sing with. Ursula than began studying and practicing dark magic under her uncle Hades making a deal with him to send all sacrifices to him in exchange for power. She than brought her sisters together and planned a coup to take over the Golden City and overthrow Triton. When Poseidon learned of what was going on he wiped out the Seven Sea Witches with the exception of Morgana and Ursula. The last two sisters went their separate ways and Ursula began to brood over her hatred for Triton and Poseidon.

Surgicalsensei She has her own book explaining her origin story it’s called Poor Unfortunate Soul: A Tale Of The Sea Witch it’s very sad and also confirms that Ursula is Triton’s long lost sister and why he banished her because he thought that her true form was ugly.

I think either Ursula is a victim and Triton is a harsh ruler, because you know his easy temper. Or Triton may be the victim and Ursula is jealous of his throne because in the extended poor unfornate souls song, Ariel tells Ursula that Ursula tried to overthone Triton. So I'm thinking Triton did invite Ursula to live in his kingdom, but years later she was jealous of Triton ruling everything in the sea that Ursula wanted the job. It's very similar to how GOD banished Lucifer from Heaven because he plotted to overthone GOD.

I hope everyone knows that Ursula is Hans Christian Andersen’s Sea Witch. I see many people have hard to understand this. Especially Americans who think everything Disney does is theirs. But what is Disney’s things? 1. The name should be obvious. 2. The design. 3. The songs. 4. Some added story. Why did they give Ursula a story? Because Ron Clements and John Musker wanted the characters to get more. The Sea King didn’t have much in the Fairy tale and either did the sea witch. So it is why and nothing more. So it is time you people out there understand this and that everything Disney does will always belong to the original author and country.

This will be long so be ready I wrote a book talking about how Ursula was made fun of and called ugly ect.Her parents didn't care a only loved her sis named Lia who made fun of her to.(at this time she was a mermaid rember that) Ok so a boy asked her out and before she left her mom said "Be careful there's a plague going around turning tails into tentacles (TENTACLES)anyway at the restaurant the girl who made fun of her the most Chloe dumped some of this magic dust in her drink and it was the dust from the PLAGUE.So Ursula drank it.And the next day her tail was replaced with you guesed it tentacles.So her parent kicked her out because they didn't want to catch the plague.(Also the boy she went out with was trient who was the prince at the time)So she went to trient and said "Please give me a place to live and i'll never come to the place again" and trient said "I'll give you place to live but you must never come to the kingdom again your banished NOW GO GET OUT OF HERE NOW"So she left and gues what he married Chloe.That is a sumary of my book and a sumary of my Ursula's back story.

Ok how would humans know about Triton and Ursala ? At most mermaids are considered myths with sailors telling old stories. Second, ursala and her younger sister and mom have zero looks in common. Feels more like their mom seduced Tritons dad, maybe even killed him somehow. (Yeah, feels like a tale of snow white) they cant even touch the trident without help from a member of the royal family so... Yeah.

If all this is true, how did Morgana mysteriously disappear and end up in an ice cave??? I wonder what she did lol 😂 because in the second movie triton was surprised to see Morgana like “what the hell you’re still alive?” I mean he was shocked to see her and he’s like man hand over that baby or so so help me???? Obviously triton cared for Morgana and knew she was crazy lol 😂 I think a part of him felt bad for his “crazy sister” makes sense to me! 😂 seems Morgana didn’t really want to rule the ocean or over rule triton she just wanted to outshine Ursula haha and why did Morgana get nothing if Ursula and triton got objects of their own? So it was okay for Lady Tremaine to abuse her stepdaughter. She made Cinderella a servant in her own house. She tried to prevent Cinderella from marrying the prince by breaking the first glass slipper. In Cinderella 3, she tried to make Anastasia take away Cinderella’s life.
