Hello viewers!
Back with another "STUDIO vs LIVE" video, this time....featuring the Disney VILLAINS!
The Disney Villains, as spiteful and evil as they are, have often received some of the most iconic tunes to sing. From the insanely climactic Hellfire, to the devilishly sinister Be Prepared and many more....these are songs which have stayed with us just as much as the Heroine or Hero songs. Now how do the singers behind these songs, the voices behind these villains fare when they're pit together with their studio recording on one side, and a live rendition of it on the other?
Would they be convincingly evil in both? Or would they surpass their antagonism in the live performance? Or well; perhaps their black magic only works within the closed walls of a studio? Let's see how do these following artists, which are featured in the video, fare :-

PS - For Frollo and Tamatoa, I sadly didn't find the live performance of the original English voice artists; hence I used international voice artists' recordings (Hungarian and Hindi respectively) so that these two iconic villains don't get left out from this lineup.

A few things to clarify: 1. Two of the villains featured in the video, *Frollo and Tamatoa* DO NOT have their English voice actors in here simply because they don't have any live performances available as of now. 2. A few villains like Dr Facilier are missing in the video because for them as well, I couldn't find any live performance on the internet. 3. Jeremy Irons is indeed Scar's voice, but his voice was only featured for the first half the song, the second half being pulled off by Jim Cummings, who is hence, ALSO the voice of Scar, and is featured because he performed one line and a laugh live. Jeremy doesn't have any live performance of "Be Prepared" available yet so it's impossible to add him. Sorry. Hope y'all still enjoy the video!

Technically because that's the only line Jim Cummings did in the whole song. Jeremy Irons wrecked his throat from the rest of the song so they had to pull in a voice double... who happened to be Jim Cummings, who also does Tigger and Winnie the Pooh.

I met Jim Cummings in Florida at Downtown Disney in 1998 or 2000 (surprisingly there weren't many people there, but he'd just started a meet and greet in the shop that sold lithographs). He was a nice bloke and had wild hair that matched the personality of tigger - he did the voice for us too

If they ever decide to do a live-action remake of Tangled I really hope they pick Donna Murphy again for Gothel. She looks a bit like Gothel, she is the voice of Gothel. If she can also act (not sure if she does acting or not besides voice acting...) then I think she would do great.

The animation process these days means characters often look and act like their voice actors, because the animators can actually sit in on the recording sessions. That's why Elsa's mannerisms match Idina Menzel's stage habits.

I like how the voice actors both do the regular voices and the singing voices, because they used to have two different people for each character if they sang. One for acting, and one for singing. So yeah I like that they went the route of finding people who can act and sing, it makes it more believable.

As a Hungarian, who has grown up on these Disney movies it was such a nice surprise to see (and hear) Szvétek László in this video. This is how iconic in my mind Scar is as a character - the amazing Jeremy Irons blew his voice out singing Scar in 'Be Prepared' so another iconic actor had to step in to finish the song - Jim Cummings. I will never get over how well done the animated The Lion King was done

A curious fact is that Ursula is inspired by Divine, a Drag Queen and I even think that Disney wanted her to do the voice of Ursula but unfortunately she passed away, so Pat Carrol was in charge of doing the voice of this great villain. But the funny thing is that the one who voiced Ursula in the Mexican dubbing for all of Latin America and Spain was the Mexican actor Angel Garza, better known by his stage name Serena Olvido, a Drag Queen. And his performance was 10 out of 10
