@@LinnaV It’s well-established practice not just in the cruise ship industry but in the maritime industry in general. There are countries where many ships are registered because they do not impose taxes on profits or have the same rules and regulations. These are called Flags of Convenience. Also, a ship registered in the United States is required to be built in the United States. There are some who would say that United States does not have any shipyards capable of building cruise ships, that is partially true. It’s also a function of cost. We build lots of ships in the United States but they are mostly military. We certainly have the capability to do so but it would cost a lot more than it would to build this very vessel in the United States versus Italy, Germany, Japan, Korea, etc. Although this is Disney cruise line, or any cruise ship (or cargo, or tanker for that matter), each ship is its own subsidiary corporation of Disney or its parent corporation. So Disney is only paying certain taxes or fees to the Bahamas. Profit that they made on this vessel is not taxed per profits of the Disney corporation in the United States even though everybody thinks of Disney as a United States company. This cruise ship is a little company within a company. As the above poster mentioned they skirt US labor laws because many of the crew members are foreign. As a Bahamian registered ship if you go on board this vessel you will find that a most of the crew members, from the professional mariners down to the room stewards are from all across the world. They are paid less than what they would have to pay a worker from the United States. Work longer hours. Have different rules and regulations. EDIT: I should caveat and clarify. I am not saying they do not pay any taxes. Every time that ship comes into a port, that port authority is charging Disney fees. When they buy provisions from the vendors in the United States they are paying taxes on that, they do pay some taxes but they are not paying a lot of taxes that they probably would be if the ship was registered in the United States.
@@tannerspahn6492 It does seem like an unique and interesting experience. Personally, I think the price is not worth the package only because Im not a huge star wars fan nor care for wine, but can understand why others would. I'm just tired of the misinformation that you're only buying a $5,000 cocktail which usually fails to include what is actually included in that package.
Lmao grape farm. Try pouring an assortment of cheap and expensive wines in their respective glass, shuffle and taste test. You won’t know which is which 💀
I went on the Disney Wish last week and also they have a waterslide on the 11th deck called the Aquamouse and it goes off the boat! Also, they have many theatres such as Funnel Vision, Neverland Cinema, Luna, Wonderland Theater, etc. If you are going on this cruise, you will LOVE it!
The Disney cruises are so nice! On the dream and the wonder (2 different ships I’ve been on) that have free unlimited ice cream machines! And the people are so nice! The people introducing us as “The Barts” always gets laughs from everyone. It is a truley magical experience.
@@FallenPhantom0 6 years of theatre education . Blood sweat and tears to perform well enough ti get an agent . Hundreds of auditions with rejection every day . Then I auditioned for Disney and they fast tracked me to a lead performance spot on the ship 😂😂
I went do a Disney cruise a few days ago! I LOVED IT but it wasn’t this one. It was the one that has the aquaduck slide and we went to the island that Disney owns and the cruise went to Mexico :D
I do love the fact that they hid Easter eggs around, though it would be upsetting to see someone meeting Elsa cause they wanted a spa day and you didn’t
Titanic was one of the least prepared ships for disaster. From not having enough lifeboats to having a literal gate block half the ship it was essentially hopeless
Okay but have you seen how many ships have sank since then?? Modern cruise ships I mean… barely any am I right the worst thing that can happen is a fire that cuts electricity *COUGH COUGH CARNIVAL COUGH CCOUGH* these ships are safer than cars!!
@@Incredibly_EB they have medicine! I get seasick too!! But the one I went on I felt NOTHING. Don’t let a few minor flaws or let downs bug you! Try to go on a cruise sometime!
nah i've been on hella cruises in my life, 10+ at least. they've always been a good time, great way to meet people, have made life long friends from them, nothing remotely bad has ever happened unless u count hangovers 💀
@@willprunty3102 also how have you been in every one for the new disney wish because the first one was mostly for media and RU-vidrs also there has not been many sailings?
Friendly reminder that a cruise ship emits on average two times as much CO2 as a comparable flight + hotel stay. If you also consider that they either use really dirty 'bunker fuel' or methane gas which pollutes the ocean, cruise ships turn out to be really, really terrible for the environement.
@Ryuzaki Yagami while LNG does burn cleaner, it still ... burns. Bunker fuel, methane and LNG will all emmit CO2 proportionally to the usage. And cruise ships burn a lot of it. So yeah I think that point still stands.
If there was a carnival cruise next to that ship that might have been my boat because that dock looks really similar to the dock we were on and there was a wish ship next to us
