It was quiet because the video was shot from behind where the horns are mounted in the foward funnel. It's the same on any ship. If you're standing behind the funnel, you'll still hear the horn, but you won't need to cover your ears, nor will you be as startled by it.
The horn really is much louder than the intercom....the camera volume "limiter" compressed the real volume. Also depends on where you're standing on the ship in relation to the ship's intercom speakers.
That's nice that they have a little announcement before the blow the horn. On my cruise (Carnival Glory) the first time the horn went off, it scared the hell outta me!
The new Disney horns have around 6 different songs I believe. It's not a matter of "loudness" anyway......it's deafening as it is...it's about style. People are on this ship to enjoy the Disney atmosphere. In that light, it's a winner for those in the spirit of the cruise.
@asherleez Yes? What do you mean is that it? Tell me of another liner that does that...none. This video of it is too quiet, this was also taken too far away from the forward facing funnel, when you're next to the horn, it is LOUD.
