This! I see so many disparaging comments, but the amenities are great, food is good, and the theming is very cute and well done and a great price point 🤷♀️☺️
I can see the character photo pass working for the little kids who are scared of being near the actual characters. This way they are still able to get the cute character pictures without freaking out.
I'm old enough to remember when all stars were like 70 bucks a night.... wild times. But I love the theming. It seems like Disney is de-theming a lot of the more expensive hotels so I'm glad we still have these gems along with Pop Century.
I would not spend more than $10 for this roach motel. For $178 dollars/night this week you could stay at the Marriott World Center. This place has water slides and 4,000 gallon pool on property! And for that price you wanna stay at some ratched af Disney roach motel so you can take a skyline that you’ll have to wait hours to take. Why??
We’re staying at all star music at the end of this month and are so excited . So many vloggers bum hard on the value resorts so it’s so nice to see them get the credit they deserve - thanks mam fam 😍
I JUST booked my stay at the All-Star Movies last night for my first stay on property in over ten years this fall. PERFECT timing for this vid and I’m SO EXCITEEEED!!!
Stayed there in April for the second time (first was in 2005) and LOVED it! The rooms are nice and clean, the theming is cute and the lobby is close and has great offerings! Hope you’ll have a fabulous time! ❤
I was supposed to stay here but a cast member called me before my trip and said “Tinker Bell has extra magic for me” and moved us to Port Orleans Riverside! It was magical. These rooms at All-Star Movies look just like the refurbished rooms at Pop Century (stayed there a few years ago!) and I loved that room!! The bathroom lighting is great too :)
I used to work in the luggage department for this resort, for 5 or 6 years before COVID laid me off. I ended up going back to Art of Animation when everything reopened, but this place will always hold a special place in my heart. I can't wait to watch the video and see my old stomping grounds lol
Nice change of pace video, the hotel seems a lot nicer than I was expecting. Any way you can do a "Best-Of" for Orlando restaurants not on Theme park grounds? Definitely helpful for people coming into town that don't plan on eating at the park every day.
I’m just sitting here laughing out loud at the “my family says dinner for lunch and supper for dinner” comment, Molly! That’s totally my family too! And my 6 year old nephew likes to argue with all of us about it 🤣
I was a concierge at All Star Movies during my Disney College Program just last year. I’ve been missing it lately so this video came at the perfect time. Thank you! ❤
Fun fact: my cat is named Pongo but she was named by an old roommate who forgot Pongo was the dad dog in the movie 😂 she is the best cat and we love her regardless!
About 20 years ago, my Mom figured out that you could come in the last night of "value" rates and that rate would extend for the whole stay which would be under $100. It allowed us to get multiple rooms, and we were there for Christmas so huge difference in frate. Mainly we would be at All-Star Sports, but stayed at All-Star Movies for one of those.
I loved my stay at All Star Music. My travel agent knows I'm a Broadway fan so he requested the Broadway building for me. The only thing about All Stars, a bullet that I dodged by one day (I was checking in as they were checking out) is, because of the price, a lot of school tours, band tours and in my case the National Cheerleader Convention stay there. So when you book your room, check if there are any large groups there. If there are - stay at another one because the cast were almost shell shocked when I got there so I don't think it's a relaxing time for other guests.
I love Molly’s idea! I literally just watched Heavyweights last night! We used the meme “lunch has been canceled due to lack of hustle! Deal with it” meme at work a few days ago and I just wanted to watch it again! That would make a hilarious theme for All Star Movies! Plus, the blob!!
Our last visit to Disney World we stayed at All Star Movies Dalmatian rooms. Really pleasantly surprised by how comfortable the beds were! Loved the over the top theming especially the puppy posed in front of the TV so cute. I noticed the sign at the entrance to Toy Story section that Molly was allowed in and thought of you. As others have said, glad you stayed at a value resort too. That wrench convo had me rolling!
We stayed at ASM during our Jan 2023 Trip! Pro tip: Mighty Ducks rooms are the Standard rate...but they are SUPER close to the bus stop for All Star Music. The short walk was especially nice coming home at night with tired feet.
I'm remembering bringing my 2 daughters to stay at the value resorts. They both loved the themes of All Star Movie resort and Pop Century. I enjoyed seeing how much fun they both had just looking at the giant Mickey and everything else. My girls are grown up and my grandchildren are going. Such amazing memories. 💜💜 watching Molly dance thru the shop was wonderful. Love being in the Mamfam community 🎉💜
Two things! 1. Thank you for visiting all the resorts for your staycation series, not just the fancy ones. Pop Century feels like “home” to me at Disney and I can’t wait to see that video. 2. I am super excited about that tidbit Alan dropped about the Halcyon! That will be an awesome video and I hope Max got to experience it as well! 😁😁
We stayed at All Star Movies in December and we were so surprised with how nice they are. If you are a rope drop to fireworks family, there really isn't much reason to pay for a nicer hotel.
We were there in December 2021 and got a room in around the corner from Buzz. It was our first time staying on property and we were pretty impressed. Compared to other hotels off property, the room was pretty small, but those mattresses were the most comfortable I have ever slept on. Normally hotel beds are so beat up and uncomfortable, but the ones at ASM were chef's kiss. After a long day of walking around the parks, I'm totally sore. I woke up each morning feeling no pain from the night before. I will say my best memory from that trip was bringing back a Crave Case from the White Castle sitting outside the bar at one of the high top tables and eating sliders while drinking sangria's from the bar.
We keep thinking about doing a staycation down to Orlando from northeast Florida. Glad to see this video because this is one of the properties that I thought would work best for us.
I stayed here for a Run Disney event and it was perfect. (Although I also stayed in sight of the creepy jack-in-the-box!) Glad to see this value resort get some love! It's a fun place to stay and the rooms are really comfy. As Molly notes, bus service to the parks is really quick. I rarely waited long for a bus either at the resort or at whichever park I was visiting. Highly recommended.
We randomly met Daisy, Chip and Dale in the Love Bug section. We spent a morning at the Mighty Duck Hockey rink pool. It was awesome! The pool was pretty empty and I got a few minutes to float blissfully alone! A mom's dream. And the Murphy bed is amazingly soft. I enjoyed my time at All Star Movies and so did the kids.
This is Craig Dennis i watch your both new videos all the time i in joy all of your both new videos all the time you have a nice safe day today you both take care today👍👍👍👍👍👍
I think dewey is blue like water "dew" and huey for red vibrant color. I dont know how to connect louie to green lol. Maybe he likes the alligator from Tiana
The late Dave Smith, founder of the Walt Disney Archives, once shared this mnemonic: "the brightest hue of the three is red (Huey), the color of water, dew, is blue (Dewey), and that leaves Louie, and leaves are green."
Ah. I came here bcos you guys came highly recommended in many Disney posts and threads. Didn't realise it was you Molly. Didn't feel like this was much of a review - more like a walk-thru (except for the mini food review) but I watched all the way thru cos you guys together are HILARIOUS 😂😂 "Yeah, this is normal"
I have stayed here the last two trips and I really enjoy it! Was even there during hurricane Ian! Spent the day after the hurricane walking around all the All Star hotels
Thx for doing Movies - it's my jam. Great to sleep, be out by 7:30a.m., sleep, repeat. As long as no big squads are there, they fine by me. Yes, the food is food to give energy, not 5 star - decent. Proud you went all in at an econ resort🤩🤩🥰🥰
I stayed at all star movies in 2006 and I recently went back in September 2022… it brought back allllll the memories of going to Disney world for the first time. In 2006, my brother and I took a picture in the TV & I recreated that picture with myself in 2022, it was truly so surreal. I love Disney even more than I did when I was a little kid. It is truly so incredibly magical and all star movies will forever hold a special place in my heart 🩷
I'm so old. 😂 I remember when you could get these little rooms for like $69 a night with an AP or Florida Resident special. I like that it's still Disney theme overload there though, especially when so much de-theming 😡 is going on there now. It's hard to justify the nearly $200 price tag though for what is essentially a Disney themed Days Inn. 🤷♀️ At least Pop Century has the skyliner which we do like. The Disney 🚍 system is not particularly magical. 😉🤣
My family and I always stayed at All Star Movies. Except for 2020. One of our favorite resorts! I still have pictures with the Toy Story Characters there when I was a teenager
I decided to go cheap on the hotel so I can do the big fun things like wild Africa trek and cinderellas royal table, and California grill. I’m super excited!! Thank you for the tour!
Fun fact: There was an animated series about the Mighty Ducks. It features anamorphic duck people, and I believe the hockey masks at the hotel are referencing that because they are shaped like they would fit a duck-person.
The all stars and value resorts are so much fun and make the trips feel a little more magical. I haven’t stayed at movies yet, but it’s on the list to try just for the amazing theming
Molly looks so cute! 😍 I'm guessing they were playing Muppets Christmas Carol for Christmas in July...? 🤔 That Character Clicks thing makes sense for people who don't want to or can't wait in line to meet the characters. Or kids that might be afraid of meeting the characters but still want a photo with them.
Really helpful video 😀 Were staying next year. 2 adults, 2 kids and a baby. Yes i know the rooms are small so it will be super tight but its only to rest our heads really. Very excited 🤩
We stayed at ALL STAR SPORTS in 2017. We were in SURF'S UP which was pretty cool. They gave us a Pack n play for my 9mth old son. We had 2 beds for me, my hubby and my Mom. Mom had a Scooter, so she hooked that up to charge outside. We enjoyed our Stay. Can't wait to go back
We love All Star Movies! We stayed there for the first time in summer 2001 when I was a teenager and it was so cool to see Buzz standing tall right outside of our room.
I’m old enough I went to Disney early enough that I have a spot in my heart for the burgers you used to get at the quick service place that we’re wrapped in tinfoil and were sort of flat and tasteless but they are flavor of my childhood
Love love love the All Star Resorts! I think the value resorts feel the most "Disney" with all the giant statues and cartoon-y lobbies! And the buses are usually not bad, I've never waited more than 15 minutes or so to get picked up.
I am loving this staycation series! All the information about the different resorts is helping me to decide where to stay on our next trip! We always knew that Molly is "Treble"! Alan in the shower was priceless! And to wrap it all up with Owen Wilson and Armageddon was so amazing! So excited for more staycations!
We stayed here 7/31-8/7/22 and really enjoyed it. It was my first time staying at a Disney resort and our whole family (12 of us) had no complaints. We are also the type of family that stay in the parks as long as possible so hotel amenities are not on the list of priorities. The parks were very crowded while visiting but didn't have any trouble with the bus transportation which we took everywhere including Disney Springs. We would definitely stay at Movies again!
We stayed at All-Star music, last summer. We stayed in the ones with two beds. They are queen beds. The ones closes to the door is a murphy bed, that becomes a table when the bed is up. Worked out great in the morning for muffins, Danishes and cereals. We had two of our grandchildren staying with us.
Ohh buddy, you bringing out a Steel Magnolias reference speaks volumes about how awesome you are!!! My wife and I smiled at one another instantly after you said it.
After watching your Polynesian video where you used dvcrental store, I rented points to stay at the Boardwalk next spring. It’s my first time at a deluxe resort and I’d love to see a resort tour!
In the south lots of people say “dinner” at lunchtime and “supper” at night meal. I was told that “dinner” is used for the biggest meal of the day and the farmers would come in at noontime for a big meal. 🤷♀️ Anyway, my family says “dinner” for lunch too. 😁
We loved Pop and AOA but I’m considering doing All Star Movies next time. We really loved the skyliner though and being close to Epcot and HS when we were at AOA last time though.
Our first stay at Disney in 2000 was there, our room was right next to Woody on the top floor. What a view when we came out of our room, our boys loved it and so did I.
We stayed at movies last February. My toddlers were obsessed with the Dalmatian building! The theming is so cute for kids. We had a great time. Staying at music this august!
Loved the All Star Resorts and Pop when my kids were younger. Great theming, quick service, pools and fast buses! (Actually faster than some of the DVC transportation). Disney magic and awesome CMs for the win!🥰
We are staying at All-Star Music next month, so I’m so glad you covered this! We haven’t been since January 2018, and we stayed at Pop Century then. It’s good to see the food is pretty good! Thank you!
I stayed at Movies last April and had the salmon with garlic green beans and asked for the mashed potatoes instead of the roasted ones and it was the *best* meal I had all week! 🤩😂
I didn’t know that info about the busses not making multiple stops anymore at the other All Star resorts. Such a game changer! Thanks for another great video. ❤
I am happy that you did this hotel. I took my daughter in january 2022 and son May 2023 and it was very smooth. Stayed in the Toy Story section both time and loved it. My whole family is going in January 2024 and am looking forward to it. It is very easy to navigate. it would be nice though if they updated the sections to more to up date movies. Keep Toy Story revamp the rest
Just had a little solo stay pre a work trip , stayed in a room just by Buzz , ❤I was so impressed ! Cast members were all wonderful, buses were good and food court offers good range of great value tasty food. Would have been SO excited to see mam fam there! ( but did meet Quincey on the bus !) really loved the supersized characters here as I had only stayed at Deluxe resorts before . Would stay again over somewhere like Saratoga springs any day .
Staying at movies for the second time in a few days! Perfect for families like ours who just need to sleep, shower and grab a quick bite! Can’t wait to see the genie video for MK 😊
Great Staycation! My family and I stayed at All Star Movies for spring break 2019 and were very happy. We were in The Mighty Ducks section and were actually closer to the All Star Music bus area than Movies so we'd just cross a wee service road in the mornings and catch our buses there. Oh and #TeamCap.
The Dallas Cowboys have been doing the video meet and greet at the stadium for a long time now. It's with players - and was very popular. I think its a neat addition to the hotel that is clearly not meant to replace an actual meet and greet. Its a supplemental way to do something fun with your kids while you wait for your hotel room to be ready. Anything that improves the customer experience is good and we should applaud WDW for thinking outside the box. The values can sometimes feel "less than" - so something cute for the kids that's a bit extra at that hotel is a plus.
I love that you are reviewing an all star resort, I really would like to see a good neighbor resort or two review, no one does those, but I know you get huge bang for your buck by staying at them
We’ve stayed at All Star Movies and Music! We were in the Herbie section at All Star Movies and it was a long walk to the buses everyday lol. At All Star Music we were right near the main pool and entrance to the main building so it was good proximity wise but it was loud at night sometimes. I’m always super happy with the room quality though and love how cheap the rooms are. We literally just use the room to shower and sleep. I make my husband do rope drop till after fireworks so it’s long days 😅 next time we visit, I want to stay for longer and explore all the different resorts!! Love your videos Molly and Alan! I literally look forward to Wednesday, Friday and Sunday because of them. As soon as 9 am hits I’m like “oh yeah new video!” Ok done rambling, love you guys byeee ❤️
