I agree tips should be included. If you get really bad service this provides motivation to tell someone in charge so appropriate actions can be taken. If your experience is good it makes the exchange easy and quicker...not waiting on a tip dance is good on a vacation time table 90% of the time. Speed counts for a lot toward a happier visit. House keeping every day, of course I have to pay everyday!!! Longer hours is a no-brainer to make guests happier (Which seems to be secondary to park profits currently) Even an increase in ticket prices might be OK if you had more hour options. Genie minus is a minus for guests, and only a plus for the corporation. What a scam, longer lines unless you pay more? Then you pay and get to be a phone slave all day. With ride break downs so high it is normal to miss out on rides you had a Lighting-less slot for three times a day. Calling it a lighting lane is like false advertisement. Pay extra and still wait 20 minutes in line after you spent five minutes to get the less-lane on your phone. Scrap the Genie, think like Universal, trust me that system is better x10. Thanks for the thoughts on changes for the better, if Disney even cares to listen.
Your ideas for change are great! Regarding the unintended consequences you describe, seems like someone failed to consider the human factors that often cause these grand and expensive experiments to fail.
I remember when Disney 1st started the dining plan and it paid for gratuity too and it worked out great. Their portions were way bigger too. My ex husband got a whole chicken for 1 meal.
