Just fyi! Those pinwheel chip things are not pork rinds. They’re called Duritos! Generally made out of flour :) you eat them with tapatío, chamoy or Valentina and add salt with lemon or lime juice. Sooooo good!
@@OrdinaryAdventures Also, Udon is with a long O. (Oo-doh-n). And just in case it comes up with you're in Japan, sake is pronounced (sa-keh). If you pronounce it (sa-key), as most Americans do, you would be talking about a destination, not the drink.
15 years ago one of our favorite eats in DCA was the spicy Korean beef bowl at Lucky Fortune Cookery. It was developed by then Napa Rose chef de cuisine Gloria, who is of Korean descent, based on her family's recipe. We learned this from Chef Gloria herself at the Chef's Table. It was the best and actually spicy! 😋 Looking forward to all the new eats (especially the birria ramen!) and drinks (melon cocktail!) and meeting Baymax! Thanks for a great foodie report as usual, Peter and Kitra! 😊
Finally, you guys are going to Japan!! I am excited to see your reaction for Tokyo Disney 😁 I was born and raised in Japan. I think Tokyo Disney is the best in the world because both Disneyland and Sea are clean and cast members are so professional. Only I complain is that the waiting time. 2 to 3 hours wait is normal there. I went there last December. I stayed at Toy Story Hotel. I highly recommend it. Your video always help my Disneyland trip. I want to help you if you have questions about Japan and Vegas (I live in Vegas) 😉 By the way, the letter on the trash looked like Korean to me. Definitely they were not Japanese 😅 I am excited to try new food next month 😊
@@OrdinaryAdventures We don’t give tips at the restaurants or taxi, anyway. Probably you already know it. If you don’t walk on the escalators, stay in left side. Left side is for people don’t move. We don’t hold the door and wait for you. We don’t have that habit, so don’t feel Japanese are rude😅 When you use public bathroom, use the sound button on the wall or attaches with toilet 🚽. I don’t know men’s bathroom but Japanese women don’t let people hear their pee sounds, so they use sounds button or flush the toilet to delete the sound. Also, we doesn’t talk in the bathroom. I mean not in the individual room. We talk very quietly in the public transportation. Most of time, people don’t answer the phone. Almost all hotels have toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, Disposable Razor 🪒, Q-tips, cottons, and slippers. Some hotels have pajamas. It doesn’t mean that you have to take off your shoes in the room. We just don’t like to wear shoes in the room. You should go to Seven Eleven or any convenience stores in Japan. Seven Eleven here is totally different from Japan. They have lots of foods which are good. When you go to Disney, try popcorns as mush you can. They have many flavors. My favorite is curry if you like curry 😉 If I come up something, I will post here😊
Peter, when you mentioned you two were going to Japan later this year, I was thrilled! My family lives in Tokyo and I visit them every year-which means, of course, I go to Tokyo Disney Resort every time. If you need some pro-tips for visiting Tokyo Disney or anywhere else in Tokyo, I'd be happy to offer them. Thanks for another fab video post. Can't wait to have that Midori cocktail in San Fransokyo!
I work at at the Pacific Wharf at all the locations and its so funny seeing my coworkers in your video. I used to love the bahn mi before they took it out, but the chicken sandwich is my new favorite. Also, fun fact, boudin bakery does make the bread for the chicken sandwich. I always add cheese to my ramem when i eat at home. That is the same meat and consome from cocina Cucamonga. They removed the corn chowder a while back. Also, sadly they will be getting rid of the classic deli sandwich when the new menu comes out
FYI! When you guys go to Japan, there is not a lot of places that do substitutions. So you’re not able to take out ingredients or put in ingredients . You have to take the meal as is.
I live in Japan so I'm so excited to hear you're coming here!! Tokyo Disney is THE ABSOLUTE BEST imo so I can't wait to see you guys experience it all 😍
The Ghiradelli picture is amazing! I probably would stand staring at it until the earthquake! I'm not a fan of Chinese food but some of that looks so good.
@@OrdinaryAdventures I'm one of these people who is quite boring when it comes to food. I like "English/American" and Italian food but I'm just not very adventurous when it comes to food. Don't get me wrong, I've tried it in places when I've had no other choice but I'm just not keen.
I'll be eager to see your coverage of the Grand Opening of San Fransokyo when it's done! Looks like it'll be awesome! The food looks quite interesting too. Glad you enjoyed them!
@@OrdinaryAdventures I think the International Gateway would be a cool, and probably most likely, spot for it. It could give that entrance/exit a little extra fun. Even where Odyssey is now would be quite a cool spot, though I bet that it is less likely. Although it would fit in with the discovery theme over there.
The "pork crips” are called Chicharrones in Mexico!!! I’m Mexican and I LOOOOOOVE chicharrones, with Valentina salsa, SO FREAKING GOOD!!!!! We always eat them as like snacks, at parties, bars, and there are actually people selling them in parks and outside schools, they prep them with Valentina and lime and salt, it’s so good, you should totally try it!!!
I've been waiting (im)patiently for this video!! I've been following your food recs while in the parks and everything has been amazing 🙌 Can't wait to try these new San Fransokyo offerings!
I love Big Hero 6! It's one of my top Disney animated movies, so I'm SUPER jealous you get to have San Fransokyo at your local park! I'd love to see them do something at Disneyworld with it, but I know that's probably a long shot. 😭 Always love the food reviews! I'm also surprised the Lychee Tea + Coconut went so well together, I wonder if the consistency would be a bit too weird haha. 😆
San Fransokyo at the end of July and was happy to see (relatively) so many beer choices at the Cervecería - no line, friendly customer service, good beer!
Omg i was just thinking about Japan yesterday, I've been planning a trip forever but never been and yesterday i decided 2024 is going to be it. Im going to use your Japan's Disney blog as a guide to plan my trip 🥰
Those are shrimp chips that they mix with pinwheel chips! If kitra likes them they sell them at the costcos here in LA in garlic butter flavor. I love how they’re mixing Mexican and Japanese flavors together it’s very on brand for a SoCal park to bring Hispanic flavors into the mix.
I love the vibes of Sans Fransokyo in the movie so this is so cool! I just started watching it but I hope they have the pretty floating fish like in the movie!
Just came back from Japan! Of course I went to Tokyo Disney. I’m so excited you guys are going! Can’t see what you guys think😆 I missed bot fighting spot and Ghirardelli’s earthquake. Thank you for sharing detail of San Fransokyo!
@@OrdinaryAdventures it’s depends on when and where you guys are going, my advice would be different but please make sure to check their calendar. Japan has different holidays. We don’t celebrate Thanksgiving. But we celebrate Christmas but in different way. And New year is BIG like thanksgiving in Japan.
@@OrdinaryAdventuresAt 15:10 you guys had an Ad for improving your golf grip in the top right of the video so I thought maybe Peter has been taking some swings 😂 😎 ⛳️
Glad u guys r finally going to Japan. Just came back to the bay area from Seoul, Korea and Osaka, Japan. U guys will love it. And btw the garlic puffs u guys r referring to r shrimp chips 👍
It's so hot where I am i really don't want food, but all the good drinks make me want to hunt those down. I've had the lychee drinks in Epcot the drink I tried was the one with the marbles you have to pop. It was pretty good.
There is so much amazing food in Japan, you can go the entire time without eating fish and still have an amazing time! Yakiniku... ramen.... okonomiyaki... and the SWEETS! You'll find something you love, for sure! :)
I was having OA withdrawals lol Its my birthday and im so excited to get to watch a new Video! Awesome video as always! Can't wait to hit up Disneyland and Sanfransokyo next month!
The new food looks so fantastic! I've been super excited for this re-theme and after the reveal of Baymax I'm just super hyped. I think my favorite part of the re-theme is the Ghirardelli, with all the Kanji inside it's such a cool European-Japanese fusion vibe that i'm living for!
Omg. We were right behind you when you were doing your B roll of Lucky Fortune. My wife kept elbowing me and it didn’t register until you walked away. I was hot, hungry and dehydrated so I wasn’t thinking straight. Hahahahha
Ordinary Adventures Star for Battlebots reference. I've got friends who participate and have been to the last couple TV tapings. I'm a huge nerd for both Disneyland and Battlebots.
I love this video!! Missing DCA in HOT & sticky FL! I’m so excited for you guys to go to Japan. I can’t wait to watch perhaps you’ll help us to plan another trip!! 💗
Oh, they used to give free Ghirardelli chocolate squares at the building on the wharf in San Francisco. I have been there in years, so they may still do it. But there are way too many people who come to Disney, I bet. Yeah, I usually don't really follow your food videos much, but you make this one into an experience. Every time I go to Disneyland, I might make it to DCA once, and I may or may not eat there. But watching you show off the land, that's pretty cool.
Great video Kitra/Peter. A heads up for y’all when you go to Japan-Bonito / Bonito flakes are almost on or in everything in Japan as it’s a common seasoning. Bonito is common in soup, soup bases (It’s what actually gives miso soup it’s smokey flavor) as well as in many seasonings like furikake or on top of many iconic Japanese dishes like takoyaki and Okonomiyaki.
It's good to try new foods even you don't think it sounds good. Bonito flakes are dried out and shredded. They're pretty good on rice, japan has a lot of seafood so u better change what you don't like about fish.
when you go to japan make sure to have a lot of coins it will come in handy, theres a lot of vending machines that sell all sorts of nonsensical garbage from all sorts of franchises it'd be interesting to see a video where you accumulate what you can find
Peter, you are a connoisseur of elote- THANK YOU FOR BEING BRAVE AND TRYING IT~ I have a confession to make…I have never tried elote before…like, it looks super good to me but for some reason when it’s right in front of me, I end up buying something else instead…I’m sorry, I’ll try one eventually 😅 thank you for another delicious video! Gosh, can’t believe Ordinary adventure galaxy is a thing now…
Y’all are finally going to Japan 🇯🇵! Yay, I’m so excited for you. Will you be going there for Halloween, or for the Holidays? Either way you’re going to have a great time. I’ll give you all tons of tips on Tokyo Disney and Japan , once you are closer to traveling there. PS bonito flakes are made of fish. They are kind of the equivalent of sprinkling pepper flakes on your pizza . Try them on takoyaki . So good!
