I really appreciate how in-depth you went on all of the restaurants/food carts and it was a nice touch to show footage of the seating for each place. I'm going in a few weeks and I haven't been in 5 years, so this is super helpful for my upcoming trip! 😊
I hope you have a fantastic trip. If you have any questions about any aspects of your upcoming visit, feel free to reach out. I’m happy to help in any way I can.
I really love the cheese-burger at Critter Country Hunger Bear restaurant its so big with lots of fries; no reservation is needed; it is spacious; and it has a good atmosphere.
This is a perfect and comprehensive food guide to Disneyland I was hoping to find on your channel! At this point you are basically my Disneyland Insider giving me all the best tips for my first trip. Amazing content!!!
BEST…DISNEYLAND…FOOD…VIDEO!!! Holy smokes you went through the entire park and showed all of the restaurants and snacks. Everyone else give 1-5 places or food dishes. Keep it going! 💪
This is the most helpful planning video I've found for where to eat! I really appreciate you walking us around the park to give us a clear idea of where each restaurant is. Makes it so much easier to plan knowing where everything is! We're coming from the UK next year and your videos really are helping me plan my trip. Thank you!
I hope you have a fantastic trip! We are headed up to Disney today to put together a DCA version of this video, so you can look out for that here soon too.
I discovered your channel only a couple of weeks ago and have been enjoying your contents immensely, so thank you! I'm loving your descriptions of the foods because they lend to a better understanding of the food items. If you could add a 0 to 10-stars to your review, your food videos will be golden, at least for me!
@@somewhereovertheredbow8976 Excellent! Be sure to check out both my Food and Wine video (just posted today) and the Disney100 food video for more great options that will be available when you go (just what you needed right? 😅)
Could you do a video on strategies/how to mobile order? How far ahead of time should I mobile order for lunch per se? How do you suggest coordinating mobile order with Genie+?
All the stuff looks AMAZING!!! You even posted several things i didn’t know about that I am eager to try on my next trip. I plan to take a food menus locations list just to be sure to do all of them!!!
Definitely check with the current menus to make sure everything is still available. Some things are seasonal, others are subject to Disney’s whims of just changing menus. But for the most part, everything should still be there. If you haven’t seen my Disney100 food video, check that out too as they released a whole bunch of year-long snacks maybe 3 weeks after I filmed this and some of them are really really good. Hope you have an awesome visit!
It's a common misconception that Carnation Cafe was Walt's favorite restaurant because it has served Walt's Chili for so many years, but the Cafe as we know it was not around in Walt's day. It was an ice cream and soda shop originally, and it's current outdoor seating area was a flower boutique. In 1997, the Cafe building was divided to make room for a small bakery, with the Gibson Girl right next door for our ice cream needs. Thankfully, the bakery was reverted into dining area and we have our Carnation Cafe as we know it today. What would we do without those fried pickles? Walt's favorite place to eat was likely the Red Wagon Inn, now called Plaza Inn, because he personally had a hand in designing the Victorian blueprint and dining solariums.
@@chelseetremblay It’s totally different! The greatest thing is park hopping in less than 2 minutes. We often bounce back and forth between the two parks without even thinking about it.
@@SoCalDisneyDad that’s awesome, totally different from Disney world lol since all the parks are much further apart from each other, thank you for the tip we’ll definitely add on park hopper
So many things I didn't get to try. I did get the bagel twist with marinara sauce. So good. No Dole whip. My sister doesn't like eating and spending money. That's one of the fun things at Disneyland. I probably missed you. I left Saturday morning.
@SoCal Disney Dad I'm sad. I had a feeling. Planning on going early September to San Diego. Not December. It rained all the days we were at Disneyland. Thursday was the worst. Friday was perfect.
@@lisabostrack24 We had some friends there around the same time. My wife wanted to go up and see them but we were blocked out. It rained for them the whole time.
Troubadour Tavern has a HUGE seating area. It’s those benches facing the stage😊. I actually really enjoy getting something to snack on and watch the show, but it can be awkward trying to hold your food while eating.
Good point. 😂🤣 I ate there few weeks after this video for what might have been the first time and the item I got was good (Sambusa), but yeah, eating while holding the carton it comes in is not the most enjoyable.
Omg im so happy I found you! My parents are planning to go in November(totally last minute) and are asking me for tips!! I can do a full itinerary for Disneyworld, but Disneyland is completely unknown to me!! Thank you thank you thank you 😭🥰
I’m so glad to hear that! If you have any other questions about your trip, feel free to ask. If you comment on any of my videos, I’ll see it and would be happy to help.
we are going to be in Disneyland next week a day at universal hollywood and 3 days at disney and dca thank for showing me where to get teh best treats and food
Hope you guys have a great time! We are going to Universal next Friday ourselves. I’ve only been once before and my family has never been so we are looking forward to it.
Mickey bars are located all over the park at the stand alone ice cream carts (you’ll find them in most lands, but the Hub has one near the castle). Soft serve is only located in DCA as far as I remember. The Cozy Cone has vanilla and chocolate while Adorable Snowman has Lemon and Mango. Of course, you can get dole whip at Disneyland at Tropical Hideaway which has Pineapple, Strawberry, and Mango.
Hi Guy! Another Great Video! Have gone to The Food & Wine Festival going on right now at Disney's California Adventure? OMG! Some of my Favorites are The BBQ Brisket Slider and The Habinera Chicken Wings! Those are found at Market Place 12, Cluck A Doodle Moo! Those are The Bomb! Really Good! The Sirloin Tips and The Carbonera Mac n Cheese at Market Place 8, Garlic Kisses! The Empanada at Peppers Caliente, Market Place 10! Absolutely Delicious! There are so many! If you can, Check It Out! And They have brought back The Original Soarin' Over California! Somebody told me! I went and I just sat there and cried! It's The Best! There's no place like it on the face of the Earth! Anyways! Keep Up The Great Work! OBTW! One of my Favorites that you mentioned, in your video, is The Gibson Girls! I Love their ice cream! I usually get a double scoop in a Waffle Cone and stand out by the awning and sometimes the band plays! Keep Making The Magic!
We have! Here's a link to our Food & Wine video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Y6q_6v4Wdsg.html My favorite was the BBQ Brisket Slider as well. It was also one of the first items we got and it remained a favorite after we'd gone through our whole Sip & Savor card.
I saw those on a recent visit to Maurice’s to grab the Boysen Apple Freeze again. I’m not a super huge fan of churros, so I didn’t get any. I try different churros for seasonal food videos, but I probably wouldn’t get them if everyone else didn’t love them so much. 😂
I’m really enjoying all the great info you provide on your channel but I’d like to make a suggestion. When looking through your video lineup it is difficult to tell which ones I’ve already watched because of the red border you have around your thumbnail. Choose any other color but red so I can tell if I’ve watched it or not. Cheers!
Oh, that’s a tough one. A Mickey Ice Cream Bar, a DOLE Whip, any pretzels (but the Violet Pretzel for the Disney100 is amazing). Over at DCA the Jack Jack Cookie Num Num or Chocosmash at PYM’s if you love chocolate. Honorable mention is the popcorn. Something special about Disney popcorn.
Oh, and I LOVE the Grey Stuff at Red Rose. I eat it like 5-6 times a year because they are always coming out with special editions. And everyone else seems to love Churros. I think they just okay, but they are better here than WDW.
It's so odd that I cannot make a reservation for Oga's on the Disney app for any day/time for my trip at the end of next month...maybe I'm just too late but that's 6 weeks away 🥺
Oga's Cantina is notorious for being a hard-to-get location. You can book reservations 60 days in advance, and most often these get scooped up immediately. There isn't a lot of space inside, so reservations are extremely limited. If your party is 4 or less people, the walk up list shouldn't take much longer than 30 minutes. Just speak to a cast member in the park to be added to the list, then go walk around the shops until your group is called. If you have more than 4 people in your party, it's possible they won't be able to get you in, or you'll have to wait quite a long time. You may need to consider splitting your party. You can keep checking for open reservations as well. The best time to check at this point is going to be the day before, as you're required to cancel reservations within 24 hours to avoid cancellation fee. Many times, people will make a reservation not knowing if they will go or not, and then will cancel the day before.
You can Google Disneyland Dining, select the appropriate search result and the restaurant list will load. From there, select “reservations accepted” and it will show you the list of restaurants. Or you can visit this link: disneyland.disney.go.com/en-ca/dining/#/reservations-accepted/
Need Carnivore only foods when I go to Disney this Fall. Meat, eggs, water. Would like to just buy the meat and not have to buy other food with it (no fries, pasta, etc). Can you do a video on that?
There are lots to benches all around the park, but usually the only ones I see available are the ones in the sun. Especially during a hot month like October. It may be less of an issue during the colder months. People may not need as many breathers. But I couldn’t find any spots in the shade to just cool down this past weekend.
Thanks for the great video and the insights! A question if I may - do you know if they have butterbeer at Disney, or is it just a Universal thing? Thanks!
Prices fluctuate based on what’s offered at different times throughout the year. And prices can increase even on items regularly on the menu. In general, entrees are between $13-$20. Snacks/desserts are roughly between $3-$7 depending on the item. Drinks are $4-$5.
The Blue Milk IS dairy free. It’s perfectly fine for vegans. It’s made with coconut milk and rice milk. If you’re looking for more Vegan options, I put a whole video together on some of the best food choices for Vegans back in February-ish (should be a few months back in recent videos).
They usually take them down around January 7th. The actual date fluctuates, but it’s usually around that time. The 7th is my wife’s birthday and we go every year on the day to celebrate. We have seen the park in various states over the years. Sometimes half the decorations are down by then, but not all. I’d plan to visit before January 5th or 6th to be absolutely certain. The start of all the holiday seasonal foods will start on November 10th this year. Decorations will be up maybe a week before that.
Unfortunately no. Disneyland doesn’t offer discounted refills like WDW. I’ve seen it once, and it was a special Magic Key perk with a Magic Key bucket. And it was just a limited time.
Hollywood is just 40mins from Disneyland, correct? Can you feature free things to do in Hollywood? Also, where can an Asian family on a budget find meals with rice in Disney area and Hollywood blvd? 😊
Mmmm, you should probably estimate 50 minutes at least, since you’ll be going in and out of a busy area. I would check the traffic estimate on Google Maps for the actual time you are traveling. Could be much longer at peak traffic times.
Thank you, this is a great guide. A Moble App question, can you pay for your mobile order with Disney Gift Cards or does it only use the credit card linked to the Mobile App?
You can use a Disney Gift Card, yes. At the checkout screen it will prompt you to use Apple Pay, but beneath that is “Other Payment Method”. If you select that option, one of the methods is Disney Gift Card and it will walk you through adding it to the account.
Thanks for the video. Are the Corn Dog nuggets a seasonal offering? We are visiting Disneyland in April and they are one of the treats we would love to try.
To my knowledge, Disneyland does not have corn dog nuggets. I believe the only place that has them is Casey’s Corner in Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World in Florida.
@@SoCalDisneyDad Thanks for the prompt response. We will just have to enjoy an original corn dog at Disneyland and some of the other food options shown in your video. Keep up the good work.
The sit down restaurants can be reserved 60 days in advance, and some of them go within a day, like Lamplight Lounge or Oga’s Cantina. Others, you can still get reservations the day before. They also have walk up lists, so you can always try to see if they can fit you in if there are no reservations available.
This was a Saturday. We were there this past Thursday, though, too (if you check the DCA Food Guide I just posted yesterday), and it was also busy. Not quite as busy as this video, but busier than it used to be on weekdays. Because of the tiered pricing (weekdays and off-season being cheaper) there really isn't a "slow day" at Disney anymore. Not like it used to be.
@@SoCalDisneyDad Good to know! I was planning on going on a Thursday in February. I’m hoping it’s not too busy (due to school being in session, etc.) Thank you!
@@sunnysong4277 Tuesday to Thursday are still the best days to go as people often add a Monday or Friday for an extended weekend. A good way to gauge crowds is to download the Disneyland app and check the wait times on rides from now till then. Get an idea for average wait times and see if they’re lower on those weekdays, etc.
They have the popcorn buckets, but they aren’t refillable. Not at a highly discounted rate, at least not regularly. Deals like that have popped up from time to time, but it’s not usual.
I’m not sure which I shared in the video, but the code in the description is the one that works: SCDD10 I just tried it and it worked just fine. Only works on packages. Ticket only purchases or hotel only purchases don’t work.
We did a gluten-free video once before. It’s probably the closest that I have to a specific diet video. We will consider a vegan/plant-based food video for the future. We are always looking for ways to provide a more rounded food review at Disney.
@@gregorymcenroe9973 I should probably clarify by diet, I more mean allergies. Since celiacs and those who are gluten intolerant can’t even eat the normal stuff for health reasons.
@@gregorymcenroe9973 you don't stop being a vegan because you're on vacation? Also there are religions that don't eat ANY meat and even more that don't eat specific meats or only eat them if they're prepared and handled a certain way. People from ALL over the world go to Disney and it's important that they can be accommodated if for nothing else Disney's bottom line
