Man, Walt would be happy to see how much Disneyland has grown over the past 59 years. Disneyland won't cease to amaze the world. And with the Disneyland Diamond Year just a year away, we Disney followers and fans wonder what Disneyland will put on the table for their 60th anniversary. I wonder what they are going to do for 60 in less than a year's time.
I wish you had panned to them walking out of the gate(s) to see the reactions they got as they all came out but still it was funny to watch One of the Dans go for a handshake from the 'mayor' to only to left hanging for a second. and I love how Peter swung around on the poll XD and Hatter LOVE HIM!
Great video! There was so much characters, I even saw Alice, Mad Hatter, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, Queen of Hearts, and Mickey and Minnie Mouse! Despite the muted part at the end, I give this video a BIG thumbs-up! Hope they do the Disneyland 60th Anniversary Celebration next year! I might be there (I think).
For those of you wondering why Happy Birthday was muted: The song as originally composed was "Good Morning to You" and is technically in the copyright registry as owned by Warner Music Group. There is always the misconception that Happy Birthday is in public domain, since it was penned in the 1800's and by far the song should had been on public domain. However, the song was registered with the US Copyright Office around 1935, so the same for the very first Disney's Mickey Mouse animated short "Steamboat Willie" and they where supposed to go on public domain in 1978, but in 1976 the US Congress extended copyright protection to all registered works, including the Happy Birthday song to the life of the author plus 50-75 years. Warner Music Group claims that Happy Birthday will still on Copyright Registry until 2030, unless US Congress decides to extend it for another thousands years! Sad but true Mickey! :(
Where did you get really clear & great version of A Dream is a Wish Your Heart makes? I'd love to hear whole version of this birthday celebration version in such great quality.
headfangs It's been claimed as copyright for years and years, unfortunately. A group of girl scouts once had to pay copyright charges after they sung it aloud at a birthday party.
I don't know...I think the cast members are stressed or nervous about this day. I lot of them don't remember the dance moves. Cinderella's Prince Charming didn't know his moves.
I actually just looked it up. Warner/Chappell Music owns it and it won't be eligible for public domain until 2030. They're apparently really strict about it too, so it's a wonder every youtube video with that song doesn't get taken down. I mistakenly thought it was already public domain!
It's kind of annoying that we couldn't hear the happy birthday because of stupid copyright . I really wish I could have gone that day! It looks like it was really fun!❤
“What would an a cappella group be without and accompanist?!” Um... an a cappella group, you know, by definition. IMO, a better question is what would an a cappella group be with an accompanist?
It just hit me: If they do this every year, why don't they take the opportunity to unleash a barrage of rare characters? I mean, they can keep Mickey and his friends, and some of the others too, but how about characters like Roger Rabbit, Scrooge McDuck, Oliver, Dodger, and Georgette, Kim Possible, and so much more?!
