that guy is the best grandpa ever. my goodness. his grand children will have so many fun memories. wow his son is mickey mouse! so cool those children and grand children have an awesome childhood.
"So, Bill, what do you do?" "Oh you know, I just rebuild Disneyland rides in my backyard." "Oh... do you have any kids?" "Yeah. One of my sons is Mickey Mouse." The life of the Iwans
constructing the locomotive took some serious outside-of-the-box thinking! like, he made a smokestack??? from a PVC pipe??? that's insane! the hidden mickey was a sweet touch too!
Bill's a personal friend, and his entire family is very creative! Since I built a 12 foot tall G-Scale "Big Thunder Mtn." from concrete for a friend's g-scale layout, maybe they'll let me make some rolling rocks for this NW layout! ?? The coolest layout anywhere!!!!!! Great video!! (I also built a Sci-Fi Museum for Old Sacto in 2000, which is no longer there. It had a Time Machine that was later sold to Tony Baxter).
The creativity of some people is simply amazing. Wow, I can't wait to see this finished. And I thought a model train in the yard would be cool. That suck after seeing this. Thanks.
There are amazing people doing amazing things that we rarely get to see. Bill's railroad fits that exactly. Please please please,Justin.....you have to bring us back when the whole layout is finshed.
Wow Justin I Loved the Old Train ride as well . I was lucky enough to ride that thing in 1971 and 1976 . They did an Amazing job creating that replica . Nice Caboose .
Awesome Justin you are in my part of town. I would go to old Sac every weekend just hand out. I would love to see those things. It was nice meeting you during Galaxy Edge opening day. ~Rachel
You find all the cool stuff. It was fun watching Ally and you having fun. Now my kids want me to build one. Can you believe their elephant lawn mower ride isn't good enough for them anymore !
Why don't you go to Incline Village Nevada and make a video about the old Ponderosa Ranch? P.S. Disneyland really needs to bring this classic ride back.
Justin, awesome video! Bill, awesome train! The Mine Train Through Nature's Wonderland was one of my favorites as a child, and I was sorry to hear that it was taken out...until I rode Big Thunder! Your Mine Train is truly inspirational. That's some great Disney-style model railroading!
I love this! the attention to detail from the tunnel back to the starting station to the train itself!! you know, Bill could TOTALLY be an imagineer! Cannot wait to see it done! Nice one!
Dude!!! I remember as a kid riding the original at Disneyland and feeling really sad when it closed. But then got excited when I started reading about BTM . NOT knowing that in the early 90s I would actually be working as an Attraction Host in then Adventure/ Frontier land and actually working on Big Thunder ......over the early mine train.
Loved this it’s the type of thing I live for! Do think Bill will ever try and rebuild one to the original scale? Or if they bring it back Bill needs to work on it! It would have been amazing if it was live steam too! And the caboose was just an amazing touch, he really is an artist. It is genuinely the best homemade train I have ever seen!
I miss the Rainbow Caverns Mine train, but the coolest thing is my live steamer which is about the size of Walt's Lilly Belle. Don't get me wrong, this is great.
Fantastic! I can't help but wonder what the neighbors think...I mean, I would love it but you know there's always that one killjoy neighbor out there.😕
"And Now That We've Seen The Train, Im Afraid We're Out Of Time Ally, But You Know What.... We've Done Our Duty... We Can Go Home And..... Just kidding, im doing it again..."
This was dope Justin I’m here at Traffic school in Fullerton and everyone watched this with me and you had everyone cracking up... poor Ally was gonna be tied up🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 All the guys we’re intrigue by the train and the girls were like ohh I love her hair and her cute belt🤔 funny!!
OH How I miss thDCA California letters! I didn't realize they were in Sacto! (closer to me LOL) You may be too young to have seen that train, but I am an oooooooooooold timer and remember it!
we almost had heart attacks last night when we finally sat down to watch tv and saw you were HERE last week! and we saw our CA letters 2 days ago when we went to get our state fair tickets ;) Riley almost fell over when you were talking about them LOL ...hope to see u real soon!
Great train ride I can't wait for you to make a second visit to that backyard railroad hopefully by then the extra detail has been completed Including the replica of the rainbow caverns
Well it would be ashamed if big thunder mountain closed down but for some people might be a good thing since that could might be the return of mine train through nature’s wonderland.
What I wouldn't give to ride that! I always dreamed of having a train like that in my back yard! It would have been fun riding a train to check on our cows in the pasture! Lucky you and Alli!
FANTASTIC!!! If ya ever want to build one, you can use my yard. It is 2 acres in the forest and has a hill. I've always wanted a train and a zip line out back. When California adventure started, I was a travel agent and Disney brought out some of the letters for the presentation to agents. They also gave us some pins & other goodies. I miss those letters! It is so good to see them in use.
How fun. 8 years ago I use to live in Woodland CA. 15 mins away. I had a huge Vintage Antique Disney collection; this would have been fun to see. I don’t know if you know it or not, but there’s two Disneyana Fan Clubs in Sacramento. I’m sure they would love to visit and share. Neverland Chapter and the Nor Cal Chapter. Thanks for a wonderful experience.
