Well, I did it by modifying my copy of Minecraft and playing single player. I pretty much made it read a list of coordinates and velocities from a text file. And then when a mine cart moved it checks that list and sets the cart's speed appropriately. Sort of a hack to get what I needed for the video. But if you're looking for a Bukkit plugin, I know a server that uses one called TrainCarts you could try.
Yeah I hacked together a modification that read a list of coordinates and speeds from a text file and then forced mine carts at those coordinates to go whatever speed. It was the only way to get everything to line up with the music.
I think that an improvement could be to make the minecart tracks invisible in the texture pack so you can't see it, but other than that it's just fricking awesome...
I remember the first time I watched this when I was in my space mountain phase. now I am back in it again. I never liked this video all the years that I watched it. the first time I watched it was either 2012 or 2013. either way I loved this.
I had to modify the game's programming. I found how it tints leaves and grass to be different shades in different biomes, and modified the code for redstone torches to do something similar. Then I had a text file that was just a list of coordinates and what color to use for the torch at that point. I also made a texture pack where redstone torches were plain white for that.
It's difficult to say, I worked on it on and off for about a year and a half. There was a lot of searching online for pictures and blue prints, a lot measuring and estimating, and a lot of trial and error getting it to look and work how I wanted. And then I would get sick of working on it and not come back to it for a few weeks. So, sorry I don't really have a number. Probably several dozen hours by the time I finished. Especially because I built most if it in survival mode.
I'm looking at the date stamps on the screenshots I took. I spent a couple of days working on gathering wool before I started. Then it looks like it took me two and half weeks to finish the outside and start on the inside. But then I was working in survival mode. It's difficult to tell how long it took me to finish the rest since after that I kept getting bored and dropping it for a while before picking it up again. But the inside probably took quite a bit longer than the outside.
incredible job 👏🏼 bet no one noticed how the track layout is rude accurate ;) i’ve built this as well so i definitely know how painstaking that is. great job!
I'd like to but it I'm not sure it would do much good. I hacked it together to do just what I needed, it wasn't very user friendly to say the least. And then it wouldn't work with the latest Minecraft. I don't really have the time to maintain and distribute it, and there have to be better mods out there for a similar purpose. Sorry I'm not more help. :(
jonox9000 Well yeah, but what I'm saying is that when it was normal space Moutain and not Hyper space, I would scream SpaceShip. Plus Ghost Galaxy is coming back. Soooo it's not back to the original yet.
jonox9000 actually, there is a video that was posted on the first day of June of this year. Even though Ghost Galaxy IS seasonal, it's still not the "Original" yet.
Damien Tran POE no because Microsoft was dumb enough to not let there be File Explorer on Xbox 360 so that transferring Minecraft worlds would be easier
Just curious if you still monitor this channel. Also seeing if you remember me. I was therealduckie on reddit's minecraft servers. You let me use your train station in my Disney World recreatio0n.
CrokedBlueCreeper101Download the texture pack then roll the minecraft version that you are using to ver. 1.6.4 on the launcher then when you open it you will see it in "Texture Packs" or "Resourse Packs" What ever it says then you have the texturepack to enjoy. Whew!! all that typing on my Wii U gamepad while laying side ways made my right arm tired.
This is another reason why minecraft is so bad ass people say it sucks cause there's no missions or anything but that's what makes minecraft unique people always want unique things but as soon as they get it they want to hate on it I don't get people
EmperorGolem Ok then... so since 1.8.1 has that new fancy launcher and you can switch back to before 1.6 how would I convert it? I'm on a MacBook Air btw
Jason Barber Lol. I remember trying to hold my SF Giants hat and point at us with a thumbs up. A lot of people laughed at my picture while trying to find theirs.
